THIS WAS TRUE OF OUR BRITAX ROUNDABOUT 55, SO WE RETURNED IT TO THE STORE AND GOT ANOTHER (SAME MODEL), AND IT'S TRUE OF THE NEW ONE ALSO.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE STITCHING AROUND THE HARNESS BUCKLE BECAME LOOSE ALLOWING THE STUFFING TO BE EXPOSED AND EASILY ACCESSIBLE TO THE CHILD. THE SEAT WAS RETURNED TO THE MANUFACTURER WHO REPLACED THE SEAT. THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND OFFERED TO REPLACE THE SEAT FOR A SECOND TIME.

I OWN A BRITAX CHAPERONE INFANT CAT SEAT AND 2 BASES. ALL WERE PURCHASED NEW. ONE BASE WAS MADE IN 2009 AND ONE IN 2012. BOTH HAVE FAULTY LOCK OFFS. WHEN I STALLING THE BASES WITH A SEAT BELT, THE BELT WILL THREAD BACK THRU THE LOCK OFFS WHEN THE BASE IS WIGGLED AT THE BELT PATH LIKE IS RECOMMENDED TO TEST THE TIGHTNESS OF THE INSTALL. ON THE BASE OF THE CAR SEAT IS TWO RUBBER STRIPS, ONE RUNNING ALONG EACH SIDE. ONE OF THESE LONG, NARROW STRIPS HAS COME LOOSE. WHEN THE SEAT IS PLACED IN THE BASE THIS STRIP CAN GET CAUGHT IN THE LOCKING MECHANISM CAUSE THE SEAT TO NOT LOCK CORRECTLY IN THE BASE AND THE SEAT IS NOT SECURE ON ONE SIDE. THE SIDE-IMPACT PLASTIC CUSHION ON ONE SIDE OF MY BRITAX ADVOCATE CONVERTIBLE CAR SEAT BROKE AND BECAME DETACHED FROM THE SEAT.
