BRITAX HAS BEEN RESPONSIVE TO MY CONCERN AND IS GOING TO PROVIDE ME A REPLACEMENT SEAT AND I AM REQUIRED TO RETURN THE FAULTY SEAT TO THEM. THEN LAST WEEK A PIECE OF THE LEFT HARNESS GUARD BROKE OFF, AND THIS WEEK THE RIGHT SIDE. IF MY SMALL CHILD, IN HIS DAILY TRIP TO DAY CARE AND BACK, COULD MANAGE TO DESTROY THE STRAP, HOW WELL COULD IT PROTECT IN AN ACCIDENT. THEN CAME MY REAL CONCERN AND THE REASON FOR THIS REPORT. WHEN I REMOVED THE SEAT FROM MY CAR TO GET THE MANUFACTURING DATA FROM IT FOR THE WARRANTY, I NOTICED THAT THE METAL BAR WHICH SHOULD HOLD THE SEAT SHELL TO THE RECLINING BASE PORTION HAD SLIPPED SIDEWAYS AND NO LONGER PENETRATED FULLY ALONG THE BASE. THANKFULLY I WAS NOT INVOLVED IN A COLLISION WHILE THE SEAT WAS IN THIS CLEARLY INSECURE CONDITION. THE BAR DOES SLIDE BACK INTO PROPER POSITION, BUT THERE IS NOTHING ON THE SEAT TO ENSURE THAT THE PROPER POSITIONING IS MAINTAINED. UPON PUTTING PRESSURE ON THE BASE TO TIGHTEN THE SEATBELT TO TIGHTLY INSTALL THE BASE, THE MECHANISM INSIDE THE RECLINE BOOT SNAPPED, CAUSING THE RECLINE BOOT TO FULLY RETRACT INSIDE THE SEAT. I SPOKE WITH A BRITAX REPRESENTATIVE AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THE STRAP CAME DETACHED BECAUSE I WASN'T PULLING ON THE STRAPS IN A UNIFORM MANNER. I PULL ON THE STRAPS USING THE CHEST CLIP (WHICH I EXPLAINED), SO I'M NOT QUITE SURE HOW EXACTLY I NEED TO BE RELEASING THE STRAPS TO KEEP THEM ATTACHED (ALSO, HEAVEN FORBID MY TODDLER DAUGHTER MOVE AT ALL WHILE I HAVE THE RELEASE BUTTON DEPRESSED, BECAUSE THEN SHE MIGHT ALSO MOVE ONE STRAP MORE THAN THE OTHER, CAUSING IT TO DETACH COMPLETELY). I PURCHASED A BRITAXBOULEVARD CARSEAT IN JULY 2015. MODEL NUMBER E9LT86A. MANUFACTURE DATE WAS JUNE 2015. RECENTLY MY HARNESS RELEASE BUTTON BECAME STUCK. I GOOGLED IT TO SEE WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS AND FOUND IT WAS RECALLED OVER A YEAR AGO! I SENT THE REGISTRATION CARD IN THE MAIL. I NEVER RECEIVED NOTIFICATION FROM BRITAX! WHEN I CALLED THEY GAVE ME UNACCEPTABLE INFORMATION! THEY NEGLECTED
... TO INPUT THE COUNTRY INTO THEIR SYSTEM WHICH IS WHY I DIDN'T GET A NOTICE. UNACCEPTABLE AS THEY HAVE ALL MY OTHER CONTACT INFORMATION! THEY INPUTTED IT INCORRECTLY INTO THE SYSTEM. I CALLED BACK AGAIN AS I WAS NOT SATISFIED WITH THE ANSWER PROVIDED. THE NEXT REPRESENTATIVE STATED MY STATE WAS INCORRECT AND I WAS SENT AN EMAIL AND REPAIR KIT IN THE REGULAR MAIL. WHO'S TELLING THE TRUTH? SHE ACCUSED ME OF MISPLACING THEM. I FIND THAT HARD TO BELIEVE I MISPLACED BOTH. SHE INSINUATED I WAS LYING AND PLACED THE BLAME ON ME. HOW MANY OTHERS WEREN'T NOTIFIED? CARSEAT HARNESS STRAPS NO LONGER LOCK - THEY JUST SLIDE LOOSER AND LOOSER, FAILING TO RESTRAIN THE CHILD. I HAD PREVIOUSLY APPLIED LUBRICANT AFTER A RECALL AND THE STRAPS WORKED WELL FOR 15 MONTHS THEN BEGAN TO FAIL. WHEN MY DAUGHTER LEANS FORWARD, THE STRAPS LOOSEN EVEN WHEN FASTENED.

HANDLE DOESN'T PROPERLY LOCK AND THE HANDLE GOES ALL THE WAY FORWARD CAUSING THE CARSEAT TO FALL ON THE GROUND WITH CHILD IN IT. BRITAX REFUSES TO REPLACE SAYS IT IS SUPPOSE TO DO THAT SHE TO JUST WIGGLE HANDLE TO LOCK IT EACH TIME.
