Components/systems involved include front suspension/steering. Dealer #1 stated vehicle was inspected and found no abnormal wear or damage, all specs within limits. Dealer #2 found steering damper depleted requiring replacement (warranty covered), and front end alignment found out of specifications requiring addition parts installed at owner cost ($787), all while under warranty at approx 19000mi at time of occurrence. No prior symptoms or indications. One owner/driver vehicle since new. Incident occurred without warning and immediate unsafe driving conditions occured. ... contacted the Land Rover corporate office in Mahwah, NJ to file a claim since it appears the recall repair was inadequate, given that the same problem is recurring. They have submitted and denied the claim, stating that since the recall was already performed by the previous owner, they are not liable to pay for the repairs. From my research with auto-glass companies, their expertise states that a windshield normally should last the lifetime of a vehicle and that any leaks indicates improper installation (such as incorrect sealing or inadequate bonding) or faulty materials. The recall was issued due to a known defect, and it is reasonable to expect that the repair addresses this issue comprehensively. Since the windshield is leaking again, it suggests that the initial repair may have been insufficient. I believe it is the manufacturer’s responsibility to ensure that such defects are properly resolved. When mentioning this to them, they stated “there’s no way you can prove it’s faulty and good luck getting a lawyer to prove that as well.” I have yet to receive an official invoice from the Princeton Land Rover service dept but was quoted $2071.00 plus tax. ... he first occurrence. In fact, I bought the car with less than 10k miles on it from Infiniti directly, where it was a fleet loner vehicle and well maintained. My car today has 56,000 miles and it is only a 2018. Two months and three car shops later, the issue remains unresolved. Infiniti said at first this was just a dead battery. A day later the issue resurfaced, where I also received a transmission control error. My service tech at Infiniti admitted that it is 90% Mercedes under the hood and they only have flowcharts to diagnose the issue. They recommended replacing a steering control column for $2k and could not answer me when I asked what that has to do with the error. I pulled it out for a second opinion and have confirmed nothing mechanical with the transmission, it is electrical. A quick google search for “Infiniti QX30 Service required do not shift gears visit dealer” yields an unprecedented number of complaints on forums of a widespread issue involving the transmission control unit for this vehicle. This issue needs to be looked at from a governing authority and my attempts to speak with the dealership about the issue has fallen on deaf ears. I learned the hard way that from 2017-2019, Infiniti collaborated with Mercedes on this vehicle and 90% of what is under the hood is Mercedes. It is the sister model to the Mercedes GLA who experienced similar issues, and the 2019 Mercedes GLA recalled their models for the same transmission control unit failure. A Google search for the same 2017-2019 era with Mercedes GLA yields starkingly similar forums from those owners.Read more

I have an interesting issue. Driving down the road and the buttons on the steering wheel stop working. I pull over turn the RV off, wait a minute then turn the RV on and the buttons now work. The dealer has already replaced the module controlling the buttons.
