Unfortunately, sometime between 10:30 and 11:30 am I was driving the Tesla on a major feeder multi lane feeder branch to a highway. I was on [XXX] merging onto [XXX] when the car just stopped with no warning. It is a miracle that I didn’t get hit, but it caused a truly dangerous situation with horns blaring, cars and trucks going around me. It was very unsafe. This time I was able to start the car with the emergency start bar Tesla has available. I was then able to drive the car to my office where the car was picked up and towed to the dealership. To make a long story short, apparently, they (service department) drove the car around the parking lot, trying to reproduce the problem but they said they were not able to. The only thing they were able to tell me about the car was that it had two high-voltage spikes and possibly that’s what caused the problem, but they didn’t know how to fix that problem. I did talk to the lead tech on my car, but at one point he said they were out of resources and would refer this to his general manager. The service manager told me that since they can’t reproduce the problem, that my car is drivable, I should pick it up and drive it. I refused. A car that stops dead with no notice in moving traffic is not a safe car. I was astounded that they would expect me to drive the Tesla. I have been in communication with Volkswagen Corporation to work together to come up with a plan to resolve the issue in a manner that would work for both parties. I was notified by Volkswagen on December 4, 2024 that a repair for my vehicle is available and I should contact my local VW dealership to make an appointment to get this recall repaired. I went in person to VW of Tacoma, I made contact with one of their representative (not sure if this person even worked there as she had no proper name tag or proper VW uniform). The whole process seemed non transparent as when I asked for her name she would not give her name despite of multiple requests. My experience with this person was very nerve racking as it was unclear if I was being subject of fraud. I specifically asked to speak to the manager whose name was Jerry Podgoski. Despite of the information regarding the availability of the my recall repair part the dealership still refused to provide repair for my vehicle's recall. Jerry Podgoski gave me the false idea that their dealership would be in touch however to date I have not heard back. I later found out the name of the service tech who refused to give her name was Maile Magpoc, she was not a pleasant person to deal with and the whole interaction seemed shady. I would like NHTSA to be involved as the recall from VW involves airbag and from the information I received from VW America repair is available and VW of Tacoma is refusing to provide the repairs on the recall issued by VW of America.Read more

The RAM trailer brake controller has two problems, causing unsafe operation when connected to a camper or trailer with electric brakes. 1) When coming to a stop and feathering off the brake to stop smoothly, the trailer brakes are released too early, this causes the vehicle to be pushed forward, often into an intersection, pedestrian, or a vehicle opinion front of you! ... oid this! Alternatively, the trailer brake controller lever can be manually pressed to avoid the trailer brakes from being released early. The camper was tested by the camper dealer as OK This same camper does not have this problem if tested with other tow vehicles such as GMC, etc. 2) The RAM trailer brake controller does not output a full 12VDC to the connected trailer, even with the gain set to max (10) and full brakes are commanded either by the brake pedal, or the brake controller lever. This causes the trailer to not have full stopping powerm reducing the stopping distance, especially in an emergency stop. If the brake controller output is tested without a trailer connected, it will show 12V output. However, once a trailer is connected, the output drops to about 9.6 VDC. The camper has been tested by the camper dealer and was found to be ok. The camper was also tested with other brands of vehicles (Toyota, GMC, Chevrolet, Nissan), and no other vehicles except RAM exhibit this problem. This problem was also confirmed at a trailer dealer by using an independent trailer brake test meter (IPA #9107B Electric Brake Force Meter). The RAM has been taken to a RAM dealer multiple times since new, and each time the dealer said the RAM is working as designed. I have photos of the tests made on multiple RAM vehicles showing this issue, as well as other brands showing that they do not have the same issue.Read more

Since late 2023/early 2024, I started to notice that my liftgate was open, while the Acadia, a lease with less than 15K miles, was parked in the driveway, off. At first, I thought it was a mistake on our part, that we had accidentally hit the button on the remote to open it or had forgotten it open. As time went on, the incidences continued and I realized it was happening on its own, while the car
... was off! When the Acadia was at the dealership this fall for a warrant repair (a pump that GM knew was problematic but only has alerts out about for now), I mentioned the liftgate. Thankfully, the problem happened at the dealership too so workers could witness it. It's a major safety issue and a public safety issue. When the pump repair was occurring, I got a text from the dealership that the problem with the liftgate was my fault, that how I clean the inside of the car had affected the mechanics and that I would be on the hook for over $300 in repairs. I had no way to prove otherwise and opted to instead disable the open function using the dial on the driver door set to off and it has not opened. Fast forward to last week and GM has a recall on GMC and other pickups where this kind of issue appears to happening to tailgates and it instantly felt similar. I believe GMC Acadia's have the same faulty wiring and I should not be on the hook for this repair but GM should fix the problem.Read more

After the car is shut off, the coolant pump will stop with the car but after a min the car will stay off but the coolant pump will kick on. Runs until battery is drained. I do understand there is a feature to circulate the coolant so help mitigate burn/hot spots but this continues until the battery is disconnected by ECU. But average happens a few times a week when cold out, sometimes it runs well for a few weeks then starts happening again. We had tried to troubleshoot by BMW but no luck. They have replaced battery, alternator, have tried to diagnose about 4 times now but they haven't fixed it since they can't replicate at the BMW Shop. I can hear the coolant pump running as well as feel the water moving. Also tested by Fluke Meter, it drains at about 40 amps (at 12 volts) when this happens, with the car off. Doing anything (opening doors, trunks, locking, unlocking, stops it for a minute but then pump starts again). No errors pop up for it except when the battery is low and then error battery had high discharge pops up.Read more

Two days before my appt I was contacted by the Honda dealer service representative stating that my appt will be canceled because they are not in possession of gear springs. He stated that they do not have any foreseeable date for which they will receive the gear springs and there is a shortage across the state. I stated that I am fearful for my and my family's safety if I drive the car. He stated that he was told by America Honda Motor Co , "It is safe to drive the vehicle and that there is no danger of the steering seizing up to cause an accident". He went on to say if I have any issues with the steering to call for an appt, drive it in and they will assess the car to determine if it is related to the recall and then they will contact Honda and see if they can expedite the part. From the time I heard of the recall it took 30 days to receive the official recall notice in order to schedule an appointment, then wait for an appt this month only to have it cancelled by the Honda dealer. Honda is minimizing the importance of this safety recall.
