The auto start system (the gas saving feature that shuts the engine off and on when the car idles) causes the car to shut completely off. This has happened on the freeway at a traffic light and while turning into traffic. When the auto start feature is off I don’t have this problem. I purchased Honda Prologue Elite Model in May 2024. In around December, a warning sign "Service High Voltage System" message showed up. We left the EV for service twice since then and the first time the honda dealer mentioned that the A/C and Battery Sensors were in swapped positions and they fixed the issue by swapping positions and was set right. The warning disappeared for less than 2 weeks and reappeared again the 3rd time. Its about 4 weeks now since we have left it for service and when we called them couple of times, they mentioned they are waiting for the parts from Honda and dont have an ETA. Its 4 weeks and we do not have the vehicle after investing 60K. We made several calls and emails to American Honda Motor Co., Inc asking for update on the Issue and the inconvenience we are facing without having the car and the response is to wait until they can fix it. This is not expected from Honda whom we trusted and bought such an expensive car. It seems like they don'w know what the real issue is and each time we get some random response as a fix and the issue comes back. What's more concerning is that its an issue with the Electrical High Voltage system and we don't feel safe driving in it. I would have not chosen to by this EV if i knew they had these issues and not tested well enough before releasing for public. Jeep recently pushed an update through the vehicle over the air. Since the update the forward collision disable warning light has been illuminated on the front cluster. When operating the turn signal and using the wipers on delay, I smelled a plastic like burning smell thinking it was the wiring in the controller arm. The dashboard, radio, and electronics turned off for a few seconds before coming back on, but the engine remained unresponsive. Towing Difficulties & Roadside Assistance Failure: GM Roadside Assistance said no contracted towing companies had the equipment to tow my truck because it would not shift into neutral without the engine running. I had to find and pay for a tow truck myself, with no guarantee of reimbursement. Dealer Response & Repair Delays: My truck has been at the dealership for days, but they have not started repairs due to technician shortages and a backlog of work. They stated: •Manually cranking the engine is nearly impossible. •The starter is not strong enough to turn it. •Repairs could take months. Loaner Car & Additional Hardships: Per the GM warranty, I received a loaner car but must return it every 500 miles. Since I commute 160 miles per day, I must frequently exchange it, causing major inconvenience. Safety Concerns & Requested Action: This sudden engine failure on the highway was a significant safety risk. The 2023 Jeep Wrangler has been inspected by two different dealerships 6-7 times, and I have submitted four cases through Jeep Wave, including a request for a buyback. While driving on the highway or on city streets, the vehicle experiences a speed reduction to 5-10 miles per hour, with a stiff steering wheel and hard brakes. The vehicle has malfunctioned twice on the highway while driving at 65-70 miles per hour and several times during heavy traffic at 5 PM. This raises significant safety concerns, especially on the highway, where a malfunction could pose a danger to others on the road. Although the issue cannot be replicated by the dealership, error codes appear when the vehicle is taken in for inspection. Ultimately, I am told that the issue is related to the "grounding." One dealership had the vehicle for 24 days. I picked it up on a Saturday at 10:30 AM, but by Sunday at 10 AM, the vehicle's speed had again decreased, the brakes were stiff, and the steering wheel was locked. The vehicle is currently at the dealership once again, and I am genuinely concerned about the safety of my children and family members when I'm driving. The problem with safety is the car will spray coolant onto the wheel well making the brakes less effective. This problem, which seemed to arise from the car ecu overheating during idle, could cause an undesirable effect while driving, potentially leading to an accident. The other issue is that the car is overheating due to a compromised cooling system that leaks coolant fluid. This may damage the engine and other engine bay components. The warning sign and first instance i can recall the "drive system malfunction" happening was in February of last year, a month after purchase. Because there is not one moment my car isn't banging while it's in "drive," he said it was a serious issue and I shouldn't wait for the "parts to be available." He also apologized that I was told several times that something like this is normal. I called Mopar today and spoke with "Kate" at 1:29 PST on 1/29/2025. She noted the lack of parts and a plan. When I explained that my car has active issues she said, "let me transfer you to the recall department." I thought Kate was in the recall department! She then transferred me to the original calling system, and I got nowhere. So I am emailing you to inform you that my vehicle has a constant banging noise consistent with your recall, based on a Jeep dealership's assessment and my brief call with Kate at Mopar. It was also noted by one of Jeeps' service techs, today that I should contact Mopar for immediate next steps; that he believe my vehicle could immediately become catastrophic. Mopar provided me with no additional remedies or steps. This is my sole mode of transportation and I live in a rural, hilly community. Legally, I need to document my attempts to remedy this, in the event that the vehicle does harm or kill someone--because, as noted in the recall and at the Jeep service center, even park can fail and run someone over.Read more
