The Forward Attention Warning device located on the steering column (camera) cannot be disengaged. This device does not allow me to wear dark or polarized sunglasses, which I need since I have eye issues. If you look to the side of the vehicle, look up to pull the visor down, or wear polarized or dark sunglasses, it will also shut off your cruise control. I have taken the vehicle in to the Gainesville GA Hyundai and told them about this issue but they have said that there is no fix for this. BTW -- there are a bunch of posts on Reddit about this issue. This problem isn't a failure of the system, it is a design flaw. I noticed it on the day I bought the vehicle. Now, it is an annoyance to the point that I am looking at buying a new vehicle. I have only had the vehicle a year....not happy. I own a 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 Duramax diesel. At around 60,000 miles, I received an engine coolant system alert through OnStar and retrieved a P1098 trouble code, which indicates a failure in the coolant control valve. This issue causes the engine fan to run excessively, creating loud noise, reduced fuel economy, and possible drivability concerns. After researching owner forums and talking to mult
... iple service departments, I discovered this is a widespread problem among 2020–2022 GMC/Chevrolet Duramax 3.0L diesel owners. In many cases, the coolant control valve is failing prematurely, and the replacement part is on national backorder, suggesting a high failure rate. GM has not issued a recall or service bulletin to address the issue, and many customers are being told to pay out of pocket despite the systemic nature of the failure. This component is tied to engine temperature control, and failure could pose a safety risk if the engine overheats or derates unexpectedly. I am filing this complaint to document the issue and request NHTSA investigate this as a potential defect.Read more

Dear NHTSA, I am submitting this complaint regarding a serious safety issue with my [Your BMW Model & Year]. My vehicle was recalled due to an issue with the engine coolant pump, which could lead to a short circuit and, in rare cases, a fire. •The recall was issued over a month ago, but BMW has not provided a solution or a repair date. •On March 26th, 2025, I visited an authorized BMW service
... center for an oil change and to address the recall, but they informed me that the necessary parts were not available and gave no timeline for the repair. •For the past three weeks, white smoke has been coming from the hood, and there is a noticeable burning smell. •I have a video documenting this issue. •My vehicle is in active use, and the problem is getting worse daily, increasing the risk of engine failure or fire. BMW’s delay in addressing this recall is putting my safety and the safety of others at risk. I request immediate action to ensure that BMW prioritizes this repair and prevents further damage to my vehicle. I would appreciate your urgent attention to this matter. Please let me know how I can proceed with this complaint. The transmission on my 2018 Ford F-150 has been experiencing severe and dangerous malfunctions that compromise vehicle safety. Starting around 50,000 miles (currently at 75,000 miles), the truck began exhibiting violent and unpredictable transmission behavior, including: Sudden, uncommanded downshifting from 9th or 10th gear down to 1st or 2nd gear while driving at highway speeds. This causes the
... engine to redline instantly, the rear wheels to lock momentarily, and the truck to jerk violently, which has forced me to swerve or take evasive action to avoid collisions. Harsh shifting, gear hesitation, and occasional failure to engage gears properly during normal city driving. These issues occur intermittently but frequently, with no warning lights or messages, and the problem persists regardless of driving mode or conditions. I took the truck to a Ford dealership, who dismissed the issue as "normal behavior" for the 10-speed automatic transmission. They quoted a very high fee just to inspect it, with a lead time of several months before they could even look at it. No diagnostic trouble codes were found, and no fix or acknowledgment of the safety risk was offered. After researching the problem online, I found numerous other F-150 owners reporting identical symptoms. This appears to be a systemic failure affecting a wide population of vehicles with the 10-speed transmission. This transmission defect poses a serious safety risk not only to me but to other drivers on the road. Uncommanded downshifting at highway speeds can result in loss of control or a high-speed crash. I believe this issue warrants a formal investigation and recall. The vehicle is available for inspection if needed.Read more

I bring to your attention the inappropriate handling of the 2019 IPACE buybacks by Jaguar Land Rover North America, JLR. I own a 2019 IPACE purchased new from Jaguar Fort Lauderdale. In Oct 2024 and Feb 2025, JLR abandoned its attempts to repair the defective batteries of these cars and filed recall notices H514 and H536 with the NHTSA. JLR offered to buy back all 2019 IPACE vehicles as a definiti
... ve solution to the battery safety issue. JLR has made take-it-or-leave-it offers based on the 10/24 Kelly Blue Book values to repurchase the cars. I consider the date and the KBB value to be irrelevant to the 2019 Jaguar IPACE issue. On March 6, 2025, JLR offered me 29% of the original purchase price to repurchase my vehicle. I did not accept the low offer because, under consumer protection and warranty laws, the car should be repurchased at its original value minus a mileage deduction. My car has 40,000 miles on it, which is well within the 100,000-mile or 8-year warranty period for the battery. The KBB value reflects the dramatic drop in the market price of my vehicle in the used car market, resulting from JLR's inability to fix the batteries. Using the KBB value unfairly penalizes me for JRL’s manufacturing errors and failure to correct faulty equipment. If the car’s battery were working, the car would be worth more. I requested that JLR adhere to its Dispute Resolution Manual, which offers a resolution to warranty disputes through the Better Business Bureau Autoline Program. Despite its contractual promise, JLR refused to participate in the BBB process. As a result of JLR’s warnings, I understand that I have a potentially unsafe vehicle parked outside my garage. I am faced with the prospect of driving a car that poses significant safety issues or accepting a low offer that does not allow me to buy an equivalent vehicle. I respectfully request that the NHTSA consider asking JLR to fulfill its obligation to address the buy-back value or accept mediation or arbitration.Read more

I am writing to report a significant safety concern involving the second-row seat in the 2021 Toyota Sienna. The issue involves the seat base not locking securely into the floor. Today, I saw that there is an NHTSA probe into 2015-17 Ford 150 pick-ups having a similar problem to mine, i.e., spontaneous downshifting. BMW issued a recall in October 2024 regarding the engine coolant pump electrical connector on my 2018 BMW X5 xDrive40e, warning of electrical shorts and fire risks. It's now late March 2025—approximately six later—and BMW dealerships still state explicitly they have no available remedy and no timeline for repair. Recently, my vehicle showed a drivetrain warning message, which I suspect is reca
... ll-related. I called BMW corporate recall hotline and my local BMW dealership (BMW of Tenafly) today (March 24, 2025). The dealership explicitly stated that they can only perform diagnostics, and even if their diagnostics confirm my drivetrain issue is recall-related, they 'cannot do anything' due to BMW's lack of available recall remedy. When I expressed concern to BMW of Tenafly representative that this recall involves serious safety risks (electrical shorts and potential fire), the dealership representative dismissed my concern by simply saying, 'every recall is urgent.' This response underscores my concern that BMW and its dealerships are not treating this recall issue with adequate seriousness or urgency, leaving consumers like myself at ongoing safety risk. They also mentioned charging $150/day storage if I leave my vehicle at their facility beyond diagnostics, which discourages vehicle owners from having their recall-related safety issues adequately addressed. I’m escalating to NHTSA now because BMW has not provided a recall remedy within a reasonable period, and I'm concerned about ongoing safety issue.Read more

AFTER TURNING OFF THE VEHICLE I AM ABLE TO RESTART AND CONTINUE DRIVING WITH THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON FOR NEXT 2 TO 3 STARTS. THE DEALER
... HAS ALREADY ATTEMPTED TO REPAIR THIS LAST YEAR BY REPLACING THE TRANSMISSION, BUT THE PROBLEM STILL REMAINS AND HAS NOT BEEN FIXED. THE DEALER WAS NOT ABLE TO REPLICATE THE ISSUE AS THERE WAS NO ACTIVE CODES WHEN IT WAS BROUGHT INTO THE SHOP. SINCE THAT VISIT IN EARLY MARCH 2025, IT HAS HAPPENED AGAIN. I BELIEVE THIS IS RELATED TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN 23V010 AND CHRYSLER RECALL 03ARead more

While driving on the highway, the engine overheating light came on, the car seemed to be losing power, and I pulled over and was then towed to the dealership. My safety was put at risk as I could have been hit as the car was slowing down in fast traffic; it also was extremely cold (about 5 degrees F) while I waited for the tow truck. The tow truck driver noted that I had lost coolant fluid due t
... o a large puddle beneath the car. The dealership reported that the aluminum coolant line had rubbed against the transmission cooler and had broken through, causing a loss of fluid. The dealership replaced the coolant line and also stated that they cut an extra piece of aluminum and wrapped it around the coolant line to reinforce that line and stop it from rubbing through by rubbing against the transmission cooler. I stated that this seemed like a design defect but the dealership responded that these things just happen. I note that there appears to be a similar recall in 2022 Durango Hellcats for the coolant line being subjected to abrasion from rubbing on the serpentine belt. The dealership did not return the parts to me; I do not know whether they provided them to the manufacturer for inspection.Read more

When letting off the accelerator to slow coming to a stop I would press the brake pedal. but the motor would increase RPMs and I had to use both feet to stop the vehicle. Then I had to put the car in neutral and the RPMs would increase even though I was at a stop and then I had to put it in Park before the RPMs would drop. I removed the driver's floor mat encase it was effecting the accelerator. T
