I was driving down the interstate traveling 75 mph and with any warning the vehicle shifted into neutral. I made my way to the side of the interstate with any ability to accelerate on a busy stretch of highway. I had my children in the car with me. The let me know after a few days that my vehicle needed a new engine and that this has been an issue with other 2021 GMC Tahoe vehicles. We decided to have the vehicle towed to Bob Howard GMC in our town, Edmond, OK, and they confirmed a new engine was needed. In all we had to replace the engine, radiator, cooler lines and fuse array. There were zero messages or warnings leading up to this event. This was very u expected, scary and u safe for not just my family in my vehicle, but all the vehicles around my that day on the interstate.Read more

This issue closely resembles Audi recall campaign 97CB (NHTSA campaign ID 16V642000), with details available at [XXX] . In my case, the marker light itself is functioning properly, but the vehicle is displaying a false error message: "Front Right Side Marker Light Defective." This poses safety risks because the erroneous warning distracts drivers from the road and could lead to the system failing
... to alert the driver of an actual side marker light issue in the future. Many owners of the same model and year are disabling their side marker lights entirely to avoid the error, as evidenced in discussions such as those on [XXX] . Repairing this issue typically requires replacing the entire headlight assembly, with costs ranging from $2,400 to $5,300, making it prohibitively expensive for many. Although Audi initiated a recall (97CB) for a similar issue, it was limited to a specific subset of vehicles, and the widespread nature of this problem in other vehicles outside the recall’s VIN range suggests a broader defect. Given these safety risks, high repair costs, and the frequency of the issue, I urge the NHTSA to investigate whether this problem warrants a broader recall or corrective actions by the manufacturer.Read more

In January 2025, we had issues with the transmission not shifting smoothly while out of town. While driving on the freeway at around 65MPH, in traffic, the transmission suddenly downshifted from 10th to either 3rd or 4th gear immediately slowing the vehicle. We almost got rear ended and tried to get over to the shoulder. By the time we could get over, which took about a minute, the transmission re
... covered itself and went back into the correct gear. We arrived home, took the truck in and was told the transmission needed to be rebuilt. There was a known issue with the transmission in these vehicles. We paid to have the transmission rebuilt. In April 2025, we heard rattling in the engine. We took it in and was told the Cam Phasers were bad and needed to be replaced. Another known issue. We have had the cam phasers replaced in 2020 under warranty. We had them reprogrammed again in 2022 for a recall. Now we are having to replace them again out of pocket. We again, paid for the repairs and got the vehicle back. I called Ford customer service and asked about any programs or reimbursement for these known issues. (Ref # [XXX]) I was told there are none at this time, despite Ford knowing they have issues. Ford has done nothing to correct the problems, but is obviously aware of the issues. Our vehicle only has about 50K miles and has had the most repairs on any vehicle that I've ever owned. We have already purchased the vehicle, and I'm having to "purchase" it a second time with the high cost of repairs. At the very least, Ford should repair the defective parts and cover the cost of such repairs. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more

I bought this car brand new and a couple of weeks after purchasing it, I would notice a creaking noise and/or a slight bump when I would put on the brakes. I am filing this complaint to report a seemingly common ongoing and worsening transmission issues in my 2015 Jeep Cherokee, which persist and have become significantly worse after receiving the U90 recall update and a subsequent TCM/PCM software update offered by Jeep. My vehicle shifted regular before the update After the update, the vehicle began exhibiting: •Harsh and delayed shifting •Sud
... den jerks and gear hunting during low-speed driving •Uncommanded downshifts •Severe hesitation from a stop, especially at intersections or in traffic •Loss of power under throttle, with unpredictable shifts These symptoms make the vehicle unsafe in daily driving — especially in traffic or at intersections — as it often fails to respond predictably when attempting to accelerate or shift gears. The transmission behavior feels erratic, and software updates have not resolved the issue. Despite the U90 recall and repeated visits to the dealer, the transmission continues to perform poorly and poses a safety concern. Other owners have reported similar issues post-recall. Jeep has not issued a full recall for these problems beyond software updates, which clearly do not solve the underlying mechanical or calibration issues Resolution Sought: I urge NHTSA to: •Investigate post-U90 transmission behavior in the 2015 Jeep Cherokee •Consider a formal recall or service campaign for the ZF 9-speed transmission (9HP) due to persistent performance and safety problems •Require Jeep to provide a permanent fix for affected ownersRead more

Audi Pre-Sense failure warning came on. I took it to Audi Fairfield CT and it was diagnosed as having a bad camera/sensor in the windshield. This could have resulted in a collision. the repair would have cost almost $3000. I bought a used one and went to an independent shop for calibration.
