Had oil change 7 times in one year and each time they indicate at the place I get oil changed that it is a quart or more low before 3,000 miles of usage after oil change. My car is suppose to take unleaded gas or higher and it knocks if I use unloaded. Now my catalytic converter is going out and it is not covered under warranty unless it is consequential to other problems. Well there appears to be
... engine problems that are not being addressed and I have a warranty and have taken it in. But they do not look any deeper into the problem except for computer scan and the warranty people won’t give me any answers on what they will do if there is engine problems.Read more

While driving the car displayed “reduced propulsion power” on the dash and then I lost all drive power and could not switch the plug in hybrid from electric to gas engine mode. The vehicle had to be towed to the dealer who stated that the battery electronics control module and perhaps the battery needed to be replaced. The check engine light came on slightly before the incident.

The truck went to the dealer for recalls on March 21, 2025. The Truck is still within the bumper-to-bumper warranty. Recalls consisted of tailgate fix, TCM & ECM updates. The truck was returned to me approximately a week later. I noticed a significant loss of power. I took the truck back to the dealer and told them about the issue. They had it another 2 days and returned it to me, saying there was
... nothing wrong. Approximately a week later, I was driving down the road and the check engine light appeared on the gauge cluster. I immediately drove the truck to the dealer, and the DTCs were emissions-related. The service advisor, Jeff, told me to keep driving the truck, and it might go away. I drove the truck home, 20 mins away from the dealer, and as I pulled into my driveway, a message on the gauge cluster said, "Add engine oil." I notified the Dealer of the issue immediately. The next morning, I added a gallon of oil, and there were still no signs of oil on the dipstick. At that time, I noticed there was no coolant in the reservoir, but engine oil residue, and a collapsed upper radiator hose. The truck was towed to the dealer later that day. After inspection, the dealer said the oil cooler had failed. They sent me the service bulletin, but that bulletin only says, "oil and coolant mix," nothing about the disappearance of the fluid, and no explanation of the emissions codes. The dealer and GM's corporate office are refusing the share the diagnostic data on how they have concluded that the oil cooler has failed. Their solution is to replace the oil cooler and see what happens. This truck has 1000 miles left on the warranty, and the parts/procedures expire at the end of the bumper-to-bumper warranty. Recap: GM will not share diagnostic data, and they are refusing to extend coverage, yet their remedy is to experiment with my $70,000 truck, and the moment this truck is out of warranty, they are going to wash their hands of it. That is not acceptable.Read more

1. Repair History and Days Out of Service The vehicle has been at CMA Colonial Kia dealership since [insert drop-off date], totaling 49 days (and counting) out of service as of 05/13/2025. The sole but critical issue is a failed high-voltage battery, which the dealership and Kia confirmed must be fully replaced. This is the first repair attempt, but the car has remained unusable for over a month.
... 2. Substantial Impairment to Use, Value, and Safety The failure of the high-voltage battery in an electric vehicle renders it completely inoperable, with no capability to drive, charge, or function. This significantly impairs the use, safety, and value of the vehicle: Use: The car cannot be driven at all. Safety: Battery failure in an EV represents a major system defect with fire and high-voltage risks. Value: A brand-new EV with major battery failure has diminished resale value and buyer confidence. 3. Eligibility Under Virginia Lemon Law Under the Virginia Motor Vehicle Warranty Enforcement Act (Lemon Law): A vehicle qualifies if it is out of service for 30 or more calendar days for warranty repairs within the first 18 months or 18,000 miles. My EV9 has been out of service for 49+ days, meets mileage and time limits, and involves a major system failure. Therefore, my vehicle qualifies for relief under the statute. 4. Issues for the Arbitrator to Address The vehicle meets Virginia Lemon Law criteria due to prolonged inoperability for a substantial defect. Kia has not provided a comparable loaner or timely resolution. The vehicle poses safety concerns due to failed propulsion battery. 5. Desired Resolution I am requesting a full repurchase (buyback) of the vehicle, including: Full reimbursement of the purchase price (down payment, monthly payments made, taxes, fees). Any towing or rental expenses incurred. Cancellation of the finance agreement if applicable.Read more

My ABS and Traction Control lights keep going off, intermittently. They have been doing it for several years. It can be for hours or for days. I took a video of it happening a couple years ago, and photos, also. More recently my speedometer has started jumping. I had the ABS recall performed when it was first implemented. When I've taken my vehicle to Hyundai (twice now specifically for this) they
... say they can see no codes and will do nothing. From what I have read on the ABS recall, this is what are the symptoms of it. I am under the impression that I have somehow gotten a defective part, even when they did the recall. The recall was that it could cause an engine fire. Today driving home, for a second, downhill, the oil light came on for a second-then went off. I came home and parked. My husband checked. He said there is no oil in the car. That, I imagine is part of the other engine issue this model has. But you would think the oil light would come on sooner and STAY on. He is going to get some oil and then take it to a shop when he gets off work. My main concern is getting the ABS/speedometer fixed as I believe it is from the first recall. The second issue-that is probably a Hyundai "recognized" issue. They just keep telling me nothing is wrong with the ABS/speedometer though. I have photos spanning several year, it falls in line with the recalled issue. Just replace the part already. The last date I went to Hyundai was Monday last week, so I'll put that as the incident date, as I was there for the ABS/speedometer. I had to drive an hour each way to see them twice now to be told they can't do anything. Today the oil light came on.Read more

Ford Customer Service Case: [XXX] The transmission presented multiple problems, and eventually completed failed. Hard shifting, failing to engage properly, jerking and jolting in gear. The dealership did supply an estimate for transmission replacement ($6300). The vehicle is currently available for inspection, and has not yet been repaired. The interesting thing is that all of these symptoms seem to be extremely common for this exact model based on research. Multiple TSBs were issued in relation to the same model and transmission, but no repairs were ever made or suggested for this particular vehicle. It appears there may have been a recall for other 2020 Explorer STs, but somehow this particular one was excluded from the list, but manifested the exact same transmission failure. We leased a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe in June 2023, and since that time the vehicle has been a chronic source of mechanical and electrical failure. Over the past two years, it has been in for service 11 times, spending more than 115 total days in the shop, with at least 9 repeat issues—largely related to high-voltage interference and hybrid system instability, from our research. The problems
... began before we ever took possession, with a service record at just 12 miles on the odometer showing a repair to the Integrated Dual Charging Module (1890169A). Since then, we've experienced a cascade of issues affecting sensors, control modules, cameras, switches, and critical vehicle systems—many of which appear to stem from electromagnetic interference (EMI) related to the hybrid platform. Key repairs have included: Park Assist and ADAS control modules (09/28/23) Reprogramming of multiple modules (backup camera, backup sensors) (01/25/24) Backup view camera replacement (02/16/24) Fuel system pump and lighting issues (04/05/24) High-voltage recall 95B, battery coolant pump, wiring harness, battery fire risk & issue (01/30–04/01/25) The final straw came on 05/09/2025, when—while driving 70 mph on the freeway—the vehicle suddenly shut off without warning. We lost all acceleration and power, forcing us to drift to the shoulder in traffic. It took multiple restart attempts and a wait period before the vehicle became responsive again. This was not only terrifying—it was dangerous. The next day, the Jeep dealer where the vehicle was purchased, picked up our car, and we’ve received no update on its status. It is currently undrivable, and we fear it’s unsafe. We previously filed for arbitration for with NCDS (March 2023), which was denied. The situation has deteriorated significantly since then, and we are now filing a second arbitration, alongside this formal NHTSA safety complaint. Certified letters sent to the manufacturer earlier this year have gone unanswered.Read more

I was driving on a road that was very rough with many bumps and the car (well in front of me) began to slow down to avoid a big pot hole, I applied my brakes to slow down before I got close to that car. Because the road was rough, as many others have filed the same complaint now, my Palisade engaged the ABS and the car coasted much farther than it shoudl have with the amount of brake pressure I wa
... s applying to stop before I collided with the vehicle slowing in front of me. The ABS prevented me from stopping before I almost hit the car who at that point had stopped in front of me, the forward collision warning came on and the emergency braking applied violently which almost caused a wreck behind me as well becuase the person behind me was not prepared to me to come to a complete abrupt halt. The palisade stopped itself after the ABS wouldn't let me stop soon enough to avoid a collision in front of me - almost causing a wreck behind me. With a simple google search, this ABS engaging on rough roads is a major common problem that Hyundai needs to address before we're all paying for wrecks that we didn't cause due to driver neglience but rather the functionality of the vehicle is causing the safety problem. I immediately called my dealership and have an appt for them to look at it early next week. I'm frightened this will cause me or my wife and kids to be in a wreck that could have been prevented.Read more
