Occasionally, the vehicle will drive in reverse when started and the shifter knob is turned to Drive (forward). This has occurred at least 5 times and the dealership has not been able to replicate the issue. So in their minds, it is not an issue. On one of those instances we noted that that shifter did not have any mode highlighted even though it was put into Drive. There were no warning lamps ill
... uminated, no system messages. The car simply started to reverse when taking the foot off of the brake. The car had to be turned off and restarted multiple times to get it to go forward. This can be dangerous as one could inadvertently strike an object or person that is behind the vehicle.Read more

Started the vehicle and before we could put it in gear, the airbags in the back seat deployed. I contacted Jeep Customer Service and was given case # 93132151 and they had it towed to the nearest dealership for diagnosis. Then Jeep refused to pay the diagnostic fee and the dealership won’t do the diagnosis. Our fear is that the vehicle is unsafe to drive as the front airbags could now go off.

I own a 2020 BMX X5 S40i. Car was parked and turned off. When I tried to turn the car ON, the car refused to start and smoke and fire smell started coming from engine compartment. I opened the hood and could smell a burning smell. Waited for smell to disappear and tried starting the car again. Car would not start and burning smell appeared again. Got a warning on the dashboard that engine compartm

Technician also stated that battery was completely dead. Took car to dealer and replaced main and start/ stop battery. Car still would not start. On inspection dealer observed started mechanism was shorted and needed to be replaced. After replacement, car starts fine without burning smell. Going through recall database, this issue with fire hazard from starter assembly is documented for my make, model and year but when I enter the VIN number it doesnt apply to ny vehicle VIN number. 4 year old child and me were occupants of the vehicle when burning incident happened originally.Read more

I bought my 2022 Ram 2500 brand new as a factory order. It is currently in the shop at Ron Lewis Ram in Cranberry Twp, PA to get a rear window water leak diagnosed. The dealer has told me that the rear windows frame is cracked in multiple places and wont be covered by my 8 year/125,000 mile max care warranty. I told them that it should be covered since its apparently a factory defect that caused t
... he issue. They informed me that since I am at 55,000 miles, Ram wont pay to repair the issue, that I had until 36,000 miles to have this issue and have it repaired. Through the power of Google search, I was able to find that countless Ram 1500 trucks have had this identical issue and a TSB exists for it. The TSB for the Ram 1500 (23-098-23 Rev A) states that it was caused by a manufacturing issue, that the repairs will be made, and that Ram will cover the repair until the truck hits 8 years/ 150,000 miles. I cannot find a TSB for the 2500 trucks that have the identical issue and I can't believe for a second that I have the only 2500 Ram on the road with this issue, especially after seeing the identical problem with the Ram 1500 and even the Jeep Gladiator, all from the same manufacturer of Stellantis- who owns both Ram and Jeep. The dealer says that I will have to pay a couple of thousand dollars out of pocket to have these repairs made on my own.Read more

I am writing to formally file a complaint regarding a serious safety issue affecting Honda vehicles — specifically the widespread failure of the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) module — and Honda's failure to issue a recall despite extensive evidence and customer reports. A recent YouTube video titled "Why Honda Hasn’t Recalled This Dangerous Problem" [XXX] ) highlights that many Honda owne
... rs are experiencing identical issues: ABS warning lights appearing on the dashboard, inconsistent braking behavior, and in some cases, total brake failure. This is a major safety hazard, especially in emergency braking scenarios or on wet or slippery roads. I personally experienced this issue with my own Honda vehicle. After taking it to a Honda dealership, I was quoted $3,000 to replace the defective ABS module — a steep and unfair out-of-pocket expense for what clearly appears to be a design or manufacturing defect. The dealership acknowledged that this is a common problem, yet I was told there is no recall, leaving me with the financial burden and a compromised vehicle. From numerous reports, it's evident that this issue spans across different Honda models and production years. Yet, Honda continues to ignore the risk, even though a faulty ABS system directly compromises vehicle control and passenger safety. I respectfully urge the NHTSA to conduct a formal investigation into these ABS module failures and compel Honda to issue a recall and reimburse affected owners. Allowing these vehicles to remain on the road in unsafe condition poses a danger not only to Honda drivers but to everyone sharing the road with them. Thank you for your attention to this urgent safety matter. Please feel free to contact me if any additional information is needed. We were driving our 2016 Honda Accord LX down the highway and our vehicle started sputtering, causing us to swerve and gain control/slow down rapidly. The car could no longer accelerate to high speeds (could only go about 35 MPH), and a bunch of engine lights came on the dash. Upon taking it to a Honda dealer, they diagnosed the problem with the high-pressure fuel pump. Apparently our year of Hond
... a Accord (2013-2017 models with 2.4L engine) had a recall on the fuel pump system, but that recall was associated with the fuel pump impeller. This existing recall number is 34V-858, MFR Campaign ID VIJ. It does seem odd that I would face a similar issue to this recall, but this high-pressure fuel pump failure is not covered under the same recall program according to Honda. I did submit for potential reimbursement under this recall, but Honda denied our claim. Could this issue be related to the same issue and therefore should this be part of that recall? This was a dangerous incident that happened going at high speeds on the highway, and we were simply lucky that our swerving didn't lead to an accident. Given that a more recent recall from Honda (2023-2024 Honda Accord) is associated specifically with the high-pressure fuel pump failure (Recall # 24V-763), I think it's reasonable that this same issue could apply to older models of the Accord as well.Read more

My wife and I purchased a new 2022 Yukon around July 4, 2022. The vehicle came with a 36k or 3 years warranty. Around October 2023, we experienced several safety concern issues with the SUV and around 11/01/23, we reported these issues to a GMC dealer. Around 11/01/23, we took our SUV for service at an approved GMC dealer and reported issues with the steering suspension such as a knocking, snappi
... ng, and cracking sound when making a turn, and a bumping when making a U-turn or left turn into a parking spot. We also reported issues with the parking and key sensors. We were informed the issue was fixed and that some suspension bolts were loosed and needed to be torqued. On 1/29/24, we took the SUV back for some of these same reasons after other dealers declined to take our SUV under warranty. Once more, the issue was temporarily fixed. We have now scheduled another appointment for these same reasons of knocking, cracking, and bumping when coming from the front suspension and when making a turn or U-turn. In addition, we are now experiencing oil warning lights for a second time as oil comsumption. We believe these are serious safety issues, especially with any potential failure of the suspension under rain, fog conditions, and the lack of resolution and wonder if other similar issues have been reported or experienced by similar drivers of these vehicles. While driving at night in May 2025, I encountered an oncoming truck with extremely bright headlights that caused dangerous glare and nearly blinded me, creating a serious risk for a collision. The brightness and lack of beam focus made it difficult to see the road ahead. I called the police to report the incident due to the severity. The next day, a police officer informed me they had stopped the
... vehicle and inspected it. The driver was found to be using aftermarket LED headlight bulbs from a company called Lucas Lighting, which the officer assumed were not street-legal. The driver was cited and released. Out of concern, I visited Lucas-lighting.com to learn more about the product. The bulbs are advertised as being “up to 11 times brighter than factory bulbs” and are designed to fit directly into standard halogen headlight housings. This suggests they are being marketed as headlight replacements, despite a small disclaimer on the site stating: “LED automotive replacement front-firing bulbs are intended for off-road and fog light applications.” It is clear that the design, fitment, brightness claims, and presentation of these bulbs are intended to encourage consumers to use them in standard headlight applications on public roads—even though this use would violate Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 108, which governs intensity, beam pattern, and glare limits to protect other drivers. This kind of disclaimer appears to be a loophole used to avoid regulatory compliance, while the real-world use of these bulbs presents a serious road safety hazard. I am concerned that more drivers are unknowingly using these ultra-bright, non-compliant bulbs on public roads, putting others at risk. I urge NHTSA to investigate Lucas Lighting’s product claims, labeling, and whether these products comply with FMVSS 108 when used in headlight applications.Read more

Approximately 2 weeks later, the vehicle had to be towed to the dealership which they diagnosed it as needing the throttle body replaced. I allowed the dealership to fix that issue. Upon them returning the vehicle to me, I now have an electrical issue. The dealership stated that they may have crossed wires. The windows would roll down once I locked the vehicle, the door would constantly unlocked while I'm driving and the radio would shut down and restart while driving. The dealership was unable to find the problem so they decided to turn off everything so these I would not have these issues. Now I can smell something burning from time to time while I'm driving.Read more

I was leaving out of the parking lot of the shops Santa Anita. I was parked underneath by [XXX] and proceeded to to leave and turn out right towards the wide open parking lot. At the time I was leaving, it was completely empty. This parking lot is wide open as I was leaving and I’m going no more than 15 mph when suddenly a beeping sound goes off and the car slams on its brakes on its own! I didn
... ’t even have enough time to stop on my own and look to see what the alert sound was. The car stop and jerked me so hard and slammed forward so hard. Thankfully I was in an empty open parking lot. That would have cause a very bad car accident and I would have been badly hurt and the car that would have slammed into me from behind! This has left me with so much anxiety and I am now very scared to drive this car at all even. I haven’t even had this car for a year and this is the second time I’ve had an issue with it. And I tried explaining to the dealership that for the past couple weeks to month that when I drive the car, it has this pulling feeling when I’m coasting. It has never felt that way before. This is supposed to be a new car. It doesn’t even have 15,000 miles on it yet! INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more
