The vehicle unexpectedly stalled while idling at a complete stop, posing a serious safety concern. Shortly afterward, the check engine light illuminated. These events occurred around 78,000 miles. Prior to the stall, the engine had been making occasional knocking or tapping noises, particularly at idle. The vehicle was immediately taken to a certified Kia dealership, where a technician diagnosed
... the issue as engine failure consistent with a known manufacturer recall affecting this vehicle model and year. A recall claim was submitted to the manufacturer, but the repair has been delayed for over a month with no authorization to proceed. No loaner vehicle has been provided. The engine failure puts the driver and others at risk, especially if the vehicle were to stall during active traffic conditions. The problem has been confirmed by the dealership but has not yet been resolved by the manufacturer. Inspection by the manufacturer is still pending. Warning symptoms included the engine light and knocking sounds, which began shortly before the stall occurred.Read more

Component: BRAKE BOOSTER While driving on the interstate (at 80mph), check engine light came on and vehicle struggled to maintain power to stay at speed, would downshift for power to get back but as soon as it up shifted speed would drop again. My fuel mileage also dropped drastically as well as forced me to exit interstate on order to get gas. In attempt to stop at the stop sign, I discovered I
... had little to no brakes. Brake pedal was extreme hard and could not be pushed down. Luckily no cars where in front of me or coming when I reached the stop sign, had to be put into N to stop/stay stopped at the sign until it was safe to completely exit the off ramp and get to the nearby gas station to safely park the car. SAFETY: Highly compromised for myself as well as others as it was impossible to stop/slow quickly nearly at all. Independent garage: all issued (including engine power) were direct result of Brake Booster FAILURE. Component has been replaced and remedied with a new replacement brake booster. I obtained pictures as well as kept the original part as it has clear damage to one side due to manufacturer/mechanical defect. - Ford has recalled this exact part, cause & reason for thousands of OTHER newer models. However clearly 2017 escapes are also effected. At first glimpse, it disnt appear that the brakes were the entire cause of rhe issues, especially since the brake light failed to come on.Read more

I am submitting this recall request because my vehicle has experienced repeated incidents of a serious safety issue. While driving—most often on the highway—a warning appears that says “Smart System Brake Malfunction.” Immediately after, the car begins braking on its own without driver input. This has happened multiple times and, based on online reports, it appears to be affecting many Ma
... zda vehicles across different models and years. Each time, I have been forced to pull over, turn off the car, and restart it to temporarily resolve the issue. This is extremely dangerous, especially at highway speeds, as it creates a high risk of rear-end collisions and sudden loss of vehicle control. When reported to Mazda, the concern was dismissed as a “sensor issue,” but the repeated nature and widespread reports suggest a potential systemic defect that requires urgent investigation and recall.Read more

August 18, 2025 at 3pm PT; My 2025 Kia Sorento X-Line was parked in my driveway facing the street. I had the engine on, and in Park mode, AC on, back hatch door open. No one was in the vehicle. I was standing behind the vehicle when it then started to go in reverse, then stopped for 2 seconds. It then proceeded to go into reverse again. The garage door was open. The vehicle pushed me into the blad

I did all I could to stop the vehicle with my body and yell for help. I was trapped. The vehicle eventually stopped because the back hatch door was open and caught on the upper part of the garage frame. I got myself unstuck and got out to the right, and went straight to the passenger front door to check out the gear shift. It was still in Park mode. All was captured on our Ring camera. I called Kia corporate customer service and received a case number (25476533) and was told I would hear back in 10 business days. I am writing to formally express my concern and disappointment regarding the unavailability of Mopar part #68295368AC, the ABS Control Module for the 2017 Ram 1500 Big Horn. As a result, both the anti-lock braking system (ABS) and cruise control are inoperative. This creates a serious hazard: without a functioning ABS, the risk of skidding and collisions increases significantly. In some cases, own
... ers have reported vehicles rendered undriveable due to locked brakes caused by this failure. On [XXX], I brought my vehicle to Arrigo Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Fort Pierce, Florida for scheduled 70,000-mile service. During intake, I showed the service advisor the illuminated ABS warning lights on my dashboard (see attached photos). Using On-Board Diagnostic Scanner (OBD service dongle), the advisor confirmed an active error code for internal ABS module failure. The service team performed the routine oil change and provided me a Multi-Point Inspection report. However, the report reflected all “green” results and contained no notation regarding the ABS failure, despite the confirmed error. After leaving the dealership and reviewing the documentation, I immediately returned. At that time, the advisor reconnected the diagnostic tool, again confirmed ABS Module Internal Failure, and explained the part was unavailable nationwide with no timeline for restock. I specifically requested to purchase the ABS module replacement for a total amount of $811.58 so this part would be noted in my service record. The service advisor added a note on the invoice that the Customer is aware that the part is on back order with no ETA at this time. Reference the following documentation dated 08/14/25: 1. VW dealership diagnose by 2021 VW Tiguan with a cracked oil pan and timing cover. The cause was from excessive oil pressure from a failed PCV valve which cracked the plastic oil pan causing excessive oil leak. This occurred driving on the highway and the ECP light on the dash came on with a message "max epinine rpm 3000". Vehicle quickly slowed down and was extremely sluggish to maintain a safe s

Oil spilled out from oil pan onto ground when tow truck moved it. Dealer produced a video of the issue and visual see the cracked oil pan and leaking timing chain cover. ECP light and engine max speed error was displayed while driving on the highway. From my understanding, basically the PCV valve fails and it over pressurizes the crankcase. It can cause the gaskets to fail causing leaks or the oil pan to crack which in our case the oil pan cracked.Read more

On August 15, 2025 at approximately 6:30pm our 2024 BMW i7 eDrive50 with the Active Park Distance Control package accelerated in reverse when parking assistance was initiated to back out of a parking space at a small business facility, causing the vehicle to strike a tree. The cronology of the incident is as follows: 1. While the driver had his foot on the brake, he touched the assisted parking ic
... on on the dashboard display to enable the automatic backup system. 2. The driver then lifted his foot from the brake and the vehicle accelerated in reverse despite the driver NOT having his foot on the gas pedal. 3. The backup camera did not engage or show the backup view when the car was moving quickly in reverse. 4. The driver slammed on the brake just as the vehicle struck a tree with the rear right bumper and panel. In summary, the automated parking space back up feature malfunctioned by accelerating in reverse while the driver's foot was not on the gas pedal. Simultaneously, the back up camera did not engage to show the rear view while the vehicle was moving in reverse. This malfunction created a safety risk that could have put other vehicles, people or property at risk of damage or injury, beyond the estimated $8,000-$10,000 damage sustained by this BMW i7. A certified BMW collision repair facility has inspected this vehicle and are awaiting inspection from BMW customer support. The collision repair facility was not able to find a video of the incident in the vehicle camera history files or in any alerts. The driver has not attempted to reproduce the malfunction. This happened on a arterial road, losing power steering and braking at ~30mph unexpectedly was a shock, but manageable. At highway speeds it likely would have led to an accident or collision. Unfortunately, I don't have any documentation of the failure lights and systems failing, but it had happened several times prior to this occurrence, albeit only with dash warning lights, no actual system failures. After the system failures, I stopped driving the vehicle. The problem appears to be somewhat widespread and is caused by a failing CAN-C BUS. A quick google search will reveal NUMEROUS descriptions on the same dangerous issue. This thread seems to clearly expIain the root of the issue with the CAN-C BUS: [XXX] I replaced my old CAN-C BUS (p/n 68321746AA) with a new part and it appears to have resolved the issue. I have saved the old CAN-C BUS for inspection if NHTSA is interested. It looks exactly like the failed BUS in the linked reddit thread above. While driving to work this morning, at approximately 04:25, on a mountain road both my low beams failed out of nowhere. I pullover in to a turn out as my high beams still worked. I go look and my passenger low beam comes back on. I make the decision to get back on the road and drive slower to try and get down the mountain. A moment later the passenger low beam turns off as do my high beams. I do n
... ot get any warning lamps for my high beams, just my low beams. I had to drive in pitch black with my hazards on trying to find a turn out or a safe place to pull over. I was not far too from home and drove back with my hazards on. I take my low beam bulb out of the housing and see that the coil blew. I purchase two new halogen bulbs when I went to go and replace them,I found that both low beam sockets had burned. It has not been reported to the dealer as my headlights are out of warrenty by a few years nor was it reported to the police or insurance because I thought maybe all the lights died at once.
