The hood was unable to be opened. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. My vehicle now has the issue per the dealership snd indicated it is approximately a 20k repair which they included a new engine. I also followed BMWs recommendation to have the oil changed

I noticed random misfires months ago. I've replace my spark plug three times in 6 months. My coils are good, etc. It started getting worse about a month ago. It goes into limp mode and suddenly slows to 20 mph. Some days it won't start. The dash lights flash and the cars computer goes crazy it won't go over 20 mph. Honda needs to address this. My car was built in 2021 and somehow missed a major recall. It's putting stress on my catalytic converter and other parts that cost thousands to fix. An independent repair facility inspected the engine and reported metal fragments in the engine oil, indicating internal engine damage. The veh
... icle was then transferred to a Hyundai-authorized dealership for major engine repairs, which were completed on January 18, 2025. Less than one year later, the vehicle developed excessive oil consumption. In October 2025, the engine stalled and was found to have no oil, despite having received an oil change approximately one month earlier. The vehicle is currently undergoing Phase 2 of Hyundai’s oil consumption testing. The dealership has indicated a full engine replacement will likely be required. Oil consumption has been measured at approximately 1.5 quarts per 1,000 miles. This vehicle is not currently included in Hyundai’s engine recall or warranty extension, despite being the same make, model, and model year as vehicles that are covered and exhibiting the same failure characteristics. Hyundai and NHTSA have documented similar engine defects on other Elantra models due to piston oil ring issues, resulting in excessive oil consumption and engine failure. My vehicle exhibits the same symptoms and failure mode. Safety Risk Excessive oil loss can result in sudden engine stalling or seizure without warning, creating a risk of loss of propulsion while driving, including at highway speeds. Confirmation or Reproduction of the Problem The failure has been confirmed by an independent repair facility and by a Hyundai-authorized dealership through inspection and ongoing oil consumption testing. My wife was driving my kids to their nana and papas house when the vehicle loss power. The vehicle started to have a knocking noise and started to vibrate towards the engine compartment. The dash lit up like a Christmas tree. We took the vehicle to a local mechanic and he suggested that we might need a tune up. We purchased 8 brand new spark plugs, spark plug wires and 8 brand new coil packs.
... The local mechanic installed all of the new parts and the vehicle acted just like it was before the tune up. We then took the vehicle to Boyd Cadillac in Henderson,NC. Tim, who is our service provider, contacted us and told us that we had severe engine failure. His recommendation was a complete engine install. We have used Boyd Cadillac, Tim on several occasions. We had an alternator replacement done which was not under warranty. We had lifters replaced under warranty around the 50k mile mark.Read more

1 Brakes: The brakes seem to have excessive wear. The car was purchased new and started making loud squeaking noises after about 18k miles. The squeaking sometimes went away after regular maintenance, but usually reappeared withing a few hundred miles of driving. Strangely, the loud squeaking went away as soon as the dashboard light displayed. 2 Lane Keeping Assistance: the car will attempt to swerve into other lanes, fighting my attempts to control the steering wheel. This happens when lane markings have been redrawn, but the vehicle is detecting the painted-over lines and tries to divert to there instead. It also happens when a lane has an option to split into different directions. If I am driving straight, the vehicle will try to swerve into the alternate direction, instead of proceeding in the direction the car is already traveling. This sometimes risks driving into a curbs or barriers that separate the directions and has occurred numerous times.Read more

Over 2 years ago I took my vehicle in for an oil change and asked them to drive it and see why it sometimes pulls the steering when going around a curve to the left. they drove it and said it never did pull. On multiple occasions, maybe up to 10, the software controlling the dashboard LCD screens reset while driving and completely goes black. I am writing to formally express my frustration regarding the ongoing issues with my vehicle. The vehicle continues to overheat, the check engine light repeatedly comes on, and it has cut off unexpectedly. The tire air pressure sensors as well.These issues have persisted despite multiple repair attempts. I initially brought the vehicle to the dealership in December 2024, and again in March 2025 an
... d now the vehicle is having the same issues to date December 2025. On both occasions, the vehicle remained at the dealership for over a month for repairs. Unfortunately, the problem has not been resolved. Each time I inquire, I am given different explanations as to why the issue cannot be fixed, which has been extremely frustrating and concerning. Additionally, I am being charged for services that I do not fully understand or agree with, especially given that the original problem still exists. Due to the lack of resolution, I have also contacted GMC directly to file a formal complaint. At this point, the ongoing delays, lack of clear communication, and unresolved mechanical issues are unacceptable. I requested a clear explanation of all charges, as well as a concrete plan outlining the steps needed to finally fix my vehicle.
