Not sure if this requires investigation by NHTSA so I am reporting it and will let you decide. 2020 Audi Q-3. Purchased Certified Pre-Owned in April 2023 with 13,000 miles on it. Found that at highway speed when you apply brakes the pedal pulsates and shudders. I now have 17,900 miles on it and the pulsation is getting worse. To my regret we did not take a very long test ride when buying.

Brought car back to dealer who states that I need to replace front disc pads and rotors as well as rear brake pads. I feel that this is not normal with such low miles. I am not sure if this needs an investigation by NHTSA but again, if you do an online search it is a problem with many Audi models. I have been advised that this problem could lead to loss of control of the vehicle. Both incidents were reported to the dealership on the same day of occurrence. 12/6/2023 and 01/09/2024. During this time the car was in EV mode and the acceleration would not respond as well. The only way to get the car back running normally was to turn the car off wait a few minutes and turn it back on. This is on a brand new Versa less than 20 miles and had been replicated a few more times over the course of 200 miles. On 12/1, around 7:20am my fiancé and I were getting ready to leave for work; there was frost on the car so my fiancé went out to start it and turn on the defrosters. After starting the car, he turned on the heater and front and rear defrosters, he then went inside to retrieve some items we needed to load into the car. He was inside for about 5 minutes before coming out to see smoke emanating fro
... m right side of the trunk, which quickly turned into a small fire, whose point of origin was the rear fuse compartment. He ran inside to grab water to try and put it out, but due to how quickly it was spreading, as well as the fact that it was electrical nature, the water only served to temporary diminish but not extinguish the flames. We then used an ABC rated fire extinguisher from our kitchen, which did suppress and extinguish the fire. The vehicle still started, and we were able to drive it from our driveway to the side of our home, however, with the risk of it igniting again or creating any other failures, in addition to the guidance provided by our insurance company and Audi Corporate, we had the vehicle towed to an Audi dealership for further investigation. There was no indication prior to this that would lead us to believe the car would catch fire. We consider ourselves to be lucky that we were not driving as we would have no way to extinguish the fire on the side of the road. Since this incident, an investigation was done by Audi corporate. It was determined that there was corrosion within the right trunk compartment caused by water at some point which caused a short considering the body module and fuses are located there. However, Audi claims no responsibility in the water getting into the trunk or any manufacturing defects. Upon our own research though, we’ve seen many reports of Q models have sunroofs draining into the interior. The car has since been totaled by insurance due to repair estimates nearing $29,000 and taken to Copart auction.Read more

If the whole tailgate is down/open there is no visual warning on dash. I believe there was an error in placement of open tailgate sensor when truck was produced. 2023 models have correct sensor placement and visual dash warning. The 2022 was a new redesign doe the Sierra class truck and there was a mistake where the open tailgate sensor was placed. I went to GMC virtual site and the 2023 model examined by GMC employee on visual check shows on complete tail gate down/open the same dash visual tail gate open alarm I see on my 2022 when only the top part of whole tailgate is open. My Dealership and GMC customer service have been involved for the past year. I have been reimbursed by GMC for my losses but problem still exists.Read more

... vided. 2. Air Suspension system warning came up at around 96000 miles. I immediatly took it to a dealer who charged 1800+ dollars to inspect and replaced a valve block mentioning C1556 code and said the poblem was sorted. I checked my car and the system warning still exists. They took the car immediatly and kept for 4 days and mentioned the air compressor in air suspension could be weak and over heating causing it to fail. They mentioned there were no leaks on any air bags of the suspension and quoted a 3400$ additional cost of repair. I believe the inital diagonisis was incorrect or not up to the mark (the part is available for inspection) from the dearlership as there were no clear indication of what was the root cause. This suspension failure could cause the ride height to fail any time and can cause imbalance while stopping the vehicle at higher speeds as it has an Aero mode. The air ride system is working intermily depending on the climatic conditions the components are malfunctioning which has to be addressed by the FCA group.Read more

Had it towed to the dealer who after much discussion agreed to replace the battery even though I read online about people having issues with water leaking onto the power tailgate module. The dealer told Me they had to replace the battery instead and the next day called to say that I was right, the battery replacement didn’t solve it. And when they looked at the power tail get module it was indeed corroded from moisture. But they wanted an additional $500 so they could subcontract to an “expert” who could seal that leak. I told them to only replace the module and asked why a recall hadn’t been issued. They said this was beyond their pay grade. I told them I’ll find a way to seal it myself.Read more

I purchased the vehicle certified from a BMW dealership. The initial problem I faced was with a failing braking system that was fixed through warranty after multiple trips to the dealership. I was at risk of the vehicle not stopping which could have resulted in a terrible accident. Now with this second issue I'm again at risk for my safety. BMW should be held accountable for producing vehicles with such safety concerns and at minimum be responsible for the cost to repair these issues.Read more

Dealer ship has diagnosed problem and ordered parts but the parts have been on back order for quite sometime with no ETA from RAM when parts will be available. The car industry gets to tell their customers that a wearable part does not need to be serviced any longer, but needs to be replaced when it fails from no service. The transmission has an actual paper filter cartridge inside the transmission and the only way to replace it is to remove the transmission pan, but was told this was a screen and not a filter. Since vehicle was out of warranty, the filter was ordered and replaced by removing the transmission pan and found the filter to be plugged. After replacing all parts including fluid with Toyota Genuine parts, the damage has already been done. Metal shavings were all over in the pan as captured by two magnets Toyota places in the transmission pan, yet this is a sealed system and does not need servicing only replacement after warranty goes out. Manufacturer needs to realize ALL wearable parts need servicing and let their customers know this information in the vehicle manual(s) because if these transmissions fail at highway speeds, damage, injury (including death) will be the result from a plugged non-serviceable/sealed filter. Will be splitting the plastic filter housing to inspect the filter media, but from the two openings where a portion of the media can be seen, it is completely plugged.Read more

The abs module started throwing a code and had to be replaced in 2022 which cost me around 900.00 dollars and the same module has malfunctioned again in 2023. This seems to be a very common problem with 2017 and 2018 ram 2500 trucks. This module should be recalled for parts and labor.
