The tailgate is opening on it's own. There have been many times it has been open and we were not aware until we go to the back of the truck or put the truck in reverse and notice it on the backup camera. We first noticed it happen around Christmas of 2023, and it has been happening randomly since then.

When this seat is first installed with the seat belt, it has a tight fit. However, the install seems to loosen for no apparent reason on its own. This occurs frequently. The vehicle was repaired under the major engine failure recall. Took the dealer months to replace the engine and now they are reporting the transmission is bad too. The car had absolutely no issues pre engine failure leaving me stranded. From reading up on forums I think transmission failures are just as common as engine leaving you stranded on a busy highway.

The service agent described possible future problems with transmission and told me that there was no remedy available for recall yet, so I need to wait. I paid to have oil filter replaced. A week later, I was driving myself to work and my daughter to daycare when the car began to stall out and misfire in traffic. After bringing it back to the dealership, they replaced 1 spark plug free of charge and advised me that the car was coming back with other codes. I addressed the safety risk and the continued mechanical breakdown of the car systems if I continued driving it, and I was encouraged to trade the vehicle somewhere. I will attach an email I sent detailing further frustration I have experienced with BMW. After speaking with customer relations, I received the same reply, which is yes, there is a safety risk it is minimal and unfortuanly, there is no remedy available yet. The following was my reply when asked to complete customer survey: I am getting no help with a car that has a recall on it and being told the exact thing at every level I have presented my legtimate concerns. With no viable or reasonable options. I basically have to continue driving my car and risk car further breaking down and put my family's safety at risk with hope that "it's low probabilty". ... at could result in "injury or death to vehicle occupants" is completely unacceptable. Our family purchased this vehicle in 2015 after the birth of our 2nd child. We chose a Chevrolet Traverse because at the time, it had one of the highest safety ratings for an SUV on the market. This is the number one requirement we have when purchasing a vehicle, and we did so with our growing family in mind. Every single day, I navigate snowy, icy, treacherous roads in Alaska with my three young children - ages 6, 8, and 10, in the vehicle along with their friends . I also suffer from anxiety. The stress and anxiety that this recall has put on my life as it threatens my family on a daily basis is intolerable and needs to be resolved. We have discussed selling the vehicle to purchase something safer as we continue to wait on the resolution, but we will be unable to sell the vehicle to a dealer due to the recall. Additionally, we refuse to sell to another family or driver due to the ethical issues that would arise with this. We also would face a significant financial shortfall by not receiving the necessary return on investment of our purchase due to this defect. I understand that there need to be parts available for the remedy, but given the scope of this issue, all further manufacturing of airbags or focus on other issues should be put on hold until the parts are manufactured to resolve this safety issue. As an oversight body, please put pressure on GM to resolve this issue immediately, and allow families to go back to living their fullest lives without fear of death.Read more

The tension release at the bottom of the harness (the switch that's depressed to release tension so the harness can be tightened/loosened while putting the child in it) has a screw holding it to the shell of the seat. This screw backs out over time. There does not appear to be a nut or thread locker used to secure the screw against backing out. The threads do not appear to be stripped upon inspect

At that time no parts were available and a time frame was not given because no one had the parts not even after market.
