Truck has an issue where certain safety systems are disabled when a trailer is detected. This is normal. However, the truck is failing to notice once a trailer has been disconnected and this keeps the safety features disabled during normal driving. Toyota has yet to address the issue. Noticed thumping sound in rear seat area of my truck when going over bumps. Since my truck has the best extended warranty they needed to get it approved to see what Ford is the repair for this issue. I contact the dealership later in the week to find out my extended warranty would not cover it and there solution was to replace the complete window. This made no since since the top track holding the window in place had come unglued. Ford solution is to replace the complete windows for around $1,600.00 at my expense. Come to find out according to YouTube this is an issue Ford since 2015 which is when they changed their rear sliding windows. Solution is to have the track taken off adhesive removed from the track and around the top of the rear windows. Use 3M window adhesive 08609 with 3M Primer -8681 and reattach the tack.Read more

These are all safety features taht no longer work on this vehicle for no apparent reason other than the system failed. Cheyenne, WY now Blue Compass RV Cheyenne, WY) and was told it would probably not be covered under warranty, but they would need to inspect it in person and then submit claim to Grand Design RV and Lippert LCI. -Searched for LCI MODEL # 337199 and best price was on Amazon (figured I could relax after at least knowing how much I was potentially going to have to shell out to replace these out of pocket). Reading the reviews (some with photos) showed a TON of these have failed just like mine (manufacturing defect, or metal quality defect suspected), so it is a decently common issue. I have attached screenshots I took that evening of these reviews and photos. -Dealership service said the claim was denied by Grand Design. I pushed back hard, showed them the screen shots of the other failures, and told them to contact Lippert. -Dealership gave me different answers, but basically front unit was not replaced or repaired because the failure was not yet significant enough to keep the jacks from fully retracting (or at least within an inch of fully retracting. The rear unit was replaced with what to me looks to be a used replacement (motor housing cover cracked and faded, sticker with serial and model number faded and barely attached). -This is a major safety concern because I was only able to retract the rears up enough to get maybe 4" of ground clearance. The feet kept scraping on dips in highway the entire trip home. Could have easily got caught and ripped the whole unit from trailer, creating a major safety hazard for anybody on the road behind me. The cooling system on my 2017 Ford Edge with 2.0 liter Ecoboost engine (currently with 61,000 miles) is not working properly due to coolant leaking internally in the engine from the engine head into cylinder number 2. This causes a variety of misfire codes to be set periodically on the vehicle, from P0316 (misfire during first 1000 revolutions) to P0302 (cylinder 2 misfire). The internal leak also
... causes coolant level in the reservoir to slowly drop, potentially leading to engine seizure and loss of vehicle control due to loss of power steering, although we have not experienced this ourselves due to knowledge of the nature of the problem - I am constantly checking coolant level. The coolant leak did, however, cause number 2 spark plug to fail causing a flashing MIL light, rendering the car undriveable until I replaced the plug. Ford Motor Company is aware of the open-deck cooling design flaw in these engines that causes the problems described above. Ford refuses to do anything about this problem (like a recall) since apparently they don't consider it a safety issue. All I've gotten out of them is basically a "sorry about your luck". I recently had my car repaired for the recall and a brake job (replacing pads and resurfacing rotors). A couple of days later, I was driving on the highway at about 60mph. Suddenly, the check engine light, parking brake light, brake light, and brake system light all went on. Additionally, the car was flashing neutral, drive, and parking gears while I was in park and driving. I started to slow down
... and realized that as my speed got slower, each new low speed became the highest speed I could go - pressing the gas with my foot did not increase the speed. As such, I drove to a nearby garage where the lights were reset. No mechanical issues were found with the car, nor was there a warning. I then called the dealership that had performed the service (DCH Paramus Honda in New Jersey) and I was informed that it was unlikely they would be able to diagnose any issues as the lights had been reset so the car was driveable. It seemed very dangerous that these issues could happen at any time. The brake system was put in maintenance mode during my brake job, so I suspect this was a computer issue rather than a mechanical problem.Read more

I was driving a brand-new 2025 BMW i5 electric car, just leased from dealer the day before. The car was at rest, waiting for traffic light to turn green. ... on the passenger side also felt the car shaking before the collision. Looking back after the collision, there was actually no car hitting mine. I believe the braking system failed. I have downloaded the video recordings from the car, with 30 seconds before and 30 seconds after the accident, by front, rear, left and right cameras, confirming that the car was at rest for about 20 seconds, then moving forward, and finally accelerating with a big thrust into the collision. I wish to have the Event Data Recorder (EDR) data to verify the pressure I applied on the brake pedal (or/and the pressure on the accelerator pedal as others may speculate that I did), to nail down the facts. Two cars in front of mime were damaged, and one lady driver had injury. Luckily all cars were initially at rest. With higher speed and such brake failure it can cause deaths. I have reported the problem to the BMW dealer in Rockville, Maryland. I will report to BMW manufacturer too. The dealer said BMW can send engineer to pull the EDR data and investigate. It will take time though. I have reported the accident to insurance company. I'll talk with the insurance agent assigned to the case next Monday, to discuss what he wants to do for inspection. In addition to the brake failure, there was no automatic emergency braking, or forward collision warning, as in my previous leased BMW car. We were towing a 36’ 5th wheel trailer suddenly STABILITRAC also kicked on, REDUCED POWER (another message to look down and read), the engine started running so rough (another issues to look down at the gauges) that I thought the engine had blown. We were not in a safe place to pull over and power was cut dropping our speed from 70 to 45 in a 70 zone. Just after going up the hill, we had to continue down other side which we discovered that the trailer brakes were NOT operational. As we were burning our truck brakes going down the other side. The only reset is to shut off the key (which would lock the steering wheel, lose power steering and power brakes while driving). When STABILITRAC appears vital drivers data is BLOCKED. We removed the trailer brake fuse and the trailer battery charger fuse, but the TRAILER BRAKE CONTROLLER messages continued. Even with the trailer disconnected the the messages continued. The trailer brake wire under the truck had exposed wires. Did the exposed wire cause other systems to malfunction? 1.Are the defective wiring harness(es) causing other systems to fail too, and/or can cause electrical fires? 2.Defective trailer braking unit needs to give one warning and STOP. This defect poses a serious issue for anyone towing (or not). 3.STABILITRAC is going to KILL someone because I believe it already has killed. After taking my Nissan Pathfinder to Nissan 112 for a safety recall on February 10, 2024, they improperly completed the recall, leaving the hood stuck closed. ... ate to inspect the lock assembly and secondary latch. If all is well, then clean and lubricate it and your done. If it fails inspection, then replace the Hood Lock Assembly, the Secondary Latch, and the Hood Lock Release Cable. Even in the parts section it states “All three listed parts should be replaced together.” The key here is that it states to replace all three, neither the repair overview or service procedure give you leeway to replace the parts individually. But, that’s what was done. As verified on my receipt from February 10, 2024, and when talking to the service manager on April 4, 2024, they only replaced the hood lock assembly. According to the service manager, this is how they always do it and what he’s always done. Even when reading the recall beside me, he fails to recognize that he has improperly followed the procedures to complete a safety recall. This complaint is less about a new safety issue, and is more related to Nissan 112's improper completion of an existing safety recall. BMW front sensors on act erratically sometimes working and sometimes going off without anything present, during rain/snow sensors would constantly go off for no reason. Issues have been raised through certified mail to BMW and all have been ignored.
