I recently purchased a this vehicle approximately two weeks ago and have since noticed a recurring problem with the steering. Specifically, the steering feels like it "sticks" when driving on a straightaway, making it difficult to maintain a smooth, consistent path. Initially, I thought the steering was simply stiffer compared to my previous vehicle, but after driving it for a couple of weeks, it
... has become clear that this is an ongoing issue. The steering tends to become jerky when I try to make small corrections to keep the car centered in its lane, which compromises the smoothness and control of the vehicle.Read more

I am a [XXX] physician who has been driving for about 30 years. Purchased this vehicle as a CPO with VIN as identified above. It is a 2024 BMW 530i X-drive from Faulkner BMW in Lancaster, PA. It was delivered on July 25, 2024. I have only put approximately 200 miles on in it since delivery. On Thursday, [XXX] there was catastrophic failure of the vehicle. At around [XXX] I was driving North on
... [XXX] about to make a right turn onto [XXX] for work at the Hospital System where I am employed. The traffic light was red and I was going about 5 miles an hour and attempted to brake the car. There was an 18 wheeler truck about 10 to 15 feet ahead of me. My car instead of braking underwent unintended acceleration. Despite my efforts to slam on the brake, the car was accelerating. None of the safety features including automatic emergency breaking were activated. Unfortunately I collided with the 18 wheeler. This was fortunate in some regards as I could have potentially struck a pedestrian or a motorcycle and have had a potentially fatal event. Please note that additionally my airbag did not deploy. The BMW dealership was contacted. They dropped off a loaner vehicle and picked up my vehicle in a flat bed for investigation. I was informed to contact BMW of North America which I did. Interestingly enough, there were no safety recalls on this vehicle on [XXX]. The car is at the BMW dealership in Lancaster PA for their internal inspection. I am being informed that the engineers are looking at the vehicle to find out what transpired. Interestingly enough, I did receive a phone call from the service manager advising me on August 9 that there was a safety recall as a relates to the brakes. As I review the NHTSA site, there is now a recall on my actual vehicle's braking system. I did a review of unintended acceleration and found multiple complaints. BMW is looking into this although into this, but external agency would be ideal. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C.Read more

... hip for reprogramming as per Ford’s Customer Satisfaction Program (CSP). Unfortunately, this did not resolve the issue. The cam phaser problems persisted, ultimately resulting in a major repair on June 17, 2024, when the truck had 134,000 miles, costing $4,100. The repair involved: •Checking engine light diagnosis and verification of cam phaser failure. •Removal and replacement of timing chains, phasers, chain tensioners, valve covers, gaskets, and other related components. •Reinstallation and testing to ensure the problem was resolved. I believe Ford should cover these costs since the cam phaser issue is widely known and documented as a design flaw in the 3.5L EcoBoost engines, particularly those produced before 2021. Ford acknowledged this issue and updated the cam phaser design in 2021, but many owners, including myself, have experienced failures despite adhering to recommended maintenance and service procedures . I urge the NHTSA to investigate this matter further and hold Ford accountable for the costs associated with these known defects. Thank you for your attention to this matter.Read more

2017 Ford Escape, only owner, just out of warranty. Service engine light came on and vehicle seemed to have an odd sound when first started in the mornings, took to dealership and was told cause was cylinder 4 misfire, had low coolant and the pressure test showed cooling system-coolant intrusion into cylinder 4. I was given an estimate of $7300 to replace short block per TSB 22-2322. My vehicle ha
... s a little less than 40,000 miles on it, and just had an oil change with inspection about a month and half ago with no issues found. Don’t know how I can have a cracked block with less than 40,000 miles. I believe this to be a factory defect, and have seen many other complaints online about the same issue. I did see that Ford had a recall for this same issue on the 2017 Ford Escape ecoboost.?.?.? I believe there should be a recall on my vehicle also. I have maintained my vehicle and do not drive it hard.Read more
