Audi Q5 is consuming oil and requiring it to be filled every 300 to 500 miles. It is unsafe for people to continually be pulling over over the side of the road. Audi will not fix, even if car fails oil consumption test. Price to fix is around 9K. The problem is also causing loss of power, which is not safe, especially while driving on the highway. Audi acknowledges the problem and states "th

I purchased my 2016 Audi A3 in April of 2020 from Audi San Diego. Less than a year later, I was getting airbag warning lights on my dash, as well as constant warning sounds when driving. I brought my vehicle into Audi San Diego, and they "fixed" the issue free of charge. A few months later, I started getting the same warning lights/sounds - this time, the passenger airbag was turning on and off ev

When I called in the summer of 2021 to schedule a service appointment, I was told there was not yet a remedy to this recall and that in the next few months I should receive a phone call to schedule service. Over a year later, I called Audi San Diego to get an update (since I did receive a phone call as promised), and I am still told that there is no solution. For over a year now, I have been unable to have passengers in my front seat, due to the fear of the airbags not working in the event of a crash.Read more

I am writing to report on the results of a call on 08-01-22 to Audi USA regarding the current recall on Audi Q7 automobiles. I asked if the car was safe to drive and the representative could not answer the question. Her comment was that Audi has not issued a Stop Drive Action. The recall notice states ". . .there may be a sudden loss of engine power or the vehicle may break down without a warnin
... g appearing beforehand." This would seem to indicate that it is not safe to drive the vehicle. Our vehicle meets all the criteria mentioned in the recall as being effected. However, the Audi USA representative instructed me to contact my dealer to get the car assessed. The dealer was contacted and we were told they are waiting on guidance from Audi USA and there was no reason at this time to bring the car in for evaluation. In short, we are very concerned about driving this car from a safety standpoint and Audi USA has done nothing but identify the problem without any solution as of today. It should be noted that we have not experienced any problem yet, but given the unknowns of this situation, we are hesitant to drive the vehicle. Any help in causing Audi to resolve this problem would be greatly appreciated.Read more

This is the first time I’ve had pre-sense braking engage, though I’ve gotten error messages while traveling at ~50mph in heavy traffic that’s it’s about to kick in. Several weeks ago, I made an appointment at my dealership to have the error messages looked at, but the first available appointment was about a month out, so I haven’t been able to take it in yet. In today’s incident, there was no warning before the braking engaged. I’m supportive of safety measures, but I am now scared of driving my car - I would rather have none of the fancy safety features than have false positives that put me in danger. This is like the Boeing 737 Max issue - why are cars with these issues allowed to be on the road??? Please make Audi fix this urgently, as message boards suggest it’s been an issue for at least five years!Read more

I was driving my car and it stalled out in the middle of an intersection which was totally unsafe and it would barely start. I was able to limp it to safety but it would not run or idle correctly. Our 2020 Audi A5 experienced a module failure affecting SOS (Loud) audible alarm that sounds every 2-4 minutes when driving and also affects bluetooth connection for hands free phone. Told by Audi dealership there was a recall, then removed for this due to lack of available parts from Audi. This very loud alarm sounds every 2-4 minutes while driving and is variable so can easily scare driving/dist

This is a driving hazard I would suspect impacting thousands of customers if 5 at one dealership is an indication. The first time this alarm sounded, my wife nearly drove off the road and then it is shockingly loud each subsequent time and still is startling.Read more

After exiting the highway and slowing for traffic the car lost power and displayed a message along the lines of "Drive system malfunction. Continued driving not possible." I was able to limp the car out of traffic to a parking lot nearby, but the car had almost no power. You could push the accelerator all the way to the floor and the car would barely move. Once in the parking lot I turned the car
... off for a few minutes and then back on. The problem appeared to resolve but once exiting the parking lot immediately came back. Once again I limped to another parking lot and shut the car off longer, waiting for it to go to "sleep." After restarting the car this time the error was gone and driving functionality was normal, and has not reoccurred since (knock on wood). The e-tron GT owners forum has a thread where others have experienced the issue, which is how I was aware that turning the car off and on could resolve the problem and allow continued driving. While the issue has not persisted, it put me in a very dangerous situation where I lost all power in the middle of traffic. I'm thankful I had exited the interstate when it occurred and it didn't happen while I was traveling at a high speed.Read more

While backing out of a parking space, with the car in reverse and in motion, the car turned itself off. The car stopped abruptly, I'm not sure if it applied the brakes or some sort of parking brake - at first I thought we got hit from behind - it was very forceful. The car turning itself off and stopping without warning is a huge safety risk, I am glad it did not happen on a roadway. Possibly
... related, I had started the "Park assist" feature from my phone. I started the engine from my phone, but did not move the car. I entered the car and put it in reverse. I wonder if the "Park assist" timed out and triggered the car turning off. It was about 30 seconds from when the car turned on before it turned off. Depending on the parking configuration, that would be enough time to get onto a public road, a real danger. To best address the specific questions in guidelines, it has not been looked at by a dealer or service center. I have encountered dozens of minor safety issues with the car (ie. unexpected braking, unexpected phantom lane keep turns, lane keep turning into obstacles, inconsistent idle/creep movements, unexpected high beam re-enabling, false SOS signals, etc). When I reported these to the dealer, they either said "unable to reproduce" or "works as intended". None of these rose to the level I felt it needed to be reported, but I can expand on those issues more if needed.Read more

Purchased 2017 Q7 sometime back in August of 2019. the car had about 42k miles on it as it was a used CPO car. After purchase the car was driven around 8900 miles suddenly the warning sign and sound occurs to warned to add engine oil. This is not supposed to happen as the car can drive up to 10k miles in single oil change. Went to the dealer right away & they blame on the tech saying " he must ha
... ve not added enough oil my mistake. 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th,6th time I experienced the issue I reported them and they always came back something related my driving style, or behavior that is causing the issue and nothing at their fault. They always says something to avoid to look further to the problem or to avoid/admitted their mistake ( Manufacture). I didn't even realize that they are probably trying to push the car mileage out of factory warranty as well. than I got the warning came in below 6k miles and seeing very high oil consumption ratio but by than my car has close to 111k miles on it - I had to show my research result of on going Audi oil consumption cases for different model than the took the car and ran some test and found out that my car burns 1.52 litter of engine oil in every 1000 miles that it runs back then. Audi tech recommended engine replacement or piston ring replacement. Now my car burns so much engine oil that every 580 miles I need to add a QT of oil to keep driving. Talked to Audi customer service, the dealer service managers and they all saying that the car has high mileage but there are lots of Audi car has the same issue though they cant help me since my car has high mileage. I feel like this is Audi's manufactural issues to begin with to build a car with poor quality piston head and piston rings. the cylinder can bust and catch file, or piston can brake while driving also burns so much oil that it sure pollute the air - there are 100's of thousands of Audi with same problem to produce enough CO@ that we can avoid by holding them accountable.Read more
