Passenger air bag light intermittently comes on after starts. Car has been showing exact symptoms from the PODS recall since I bought it in May, and I’ve tried to have this fixed by 3 separate Audi dealerships, and none of them have been able to fix it. At this point, this recall has now been active for over a year and a half, and I think it is absolutely ridiculous to have a non-functioning pa
... ssenger seat in a “practical” hatchback. Thus, at this point, I would like to escalate this further and potentially fight for a buyback, as this is a recall that both devalues the car AND puts my passenger (and potentially myself, as this one fault has most likely disabled the entire SRS; granted I don’t want to find out for myself) at risk. The “no-passenger” fix would have worked for 30-ish days while Audi worked for a fix, but 1.5 years is ABSOLUTELY UNREASONABLE and totally ridiculous for a $50,000+-MSRP luxury vehicle from the Volkswagen Audi Group.Read more

Have been receiving an intermittent warning: Safety malfunction for the passenger airbag. The light comes on intermittently. Comes on most often when no one is sitting in the front passenger seat. If I place a small bag (handbag, purse etc.) on the seat sometimes the light goes off sometimes it does not. If someone is sitting in the seat the malfunction light is not present. The dealer confi
... rmed the malfunction stating: They found the safety malfunction light is being triggered by a faulty passenger front seat pod and needs to be replaced for $2,233. Doing a quick Audi forum search have found numerous individuals with similar complaints and many have even reached out to Audi. This appears to be a significant safety issue as it calls into question the reliability of airbag operation in the case of an accident.Read more

I experienced issues putting fuel in my vehicle. The pump would shut off as if the tank were full after putting only a few dollars in the tank. At one point gas backed up and spalshed onto my hand and cloths, down the side of my vehicle onto the ground. Prior to this I noticed my vehicle hesitating when accelerating at times. I took it to the Audi dealership explaining something was preventing fue
... l from going into the gas tank. The Audi dealership’s initial diagnosis recommendation was to replace charcoal cannister as it had gas in it. Once replaced, the technician still had issues fueling the vehicle. After a second diagnostic test they determined the Evap Cannister as well as the actual fuel tank needed to be replaced. I did take my vehicle to another establishment for a second opinion as I felt the Audi dealership did not appear to know what the exact problem was. Prior to and during the issue with my vehicle, there were no warning lamps on messages indicating any problems. There was only the slight hesitation when accelerating periodically. This occurred approximately 1 week prior to the fueling issues.Read more

I'm writing you today with a MAJOR CONCERN related to the safety of the current model Audi Q7. The problem is with the left and right 2nd row belt buckles. Both are attached to a plastic fixture, sit a few inches in front of the back seat, and cannot be moved beyond a forward 45 degree angle. The position and orientation prevent you from safely/correctly installing ANY child seat using the belt
... path. Latch works fine but it has an upper weight limit. We took the car to the local police dept and the certified child seat expert confirmed the buckle design would NOT ALLOW US TO SAFELY INSTALL ANY FORWARD FACING CAR SEAT USING THE BELT PATH. We tried to install our Nuna Rava car seat rear facing as well - one of the safest and most expensive convertible seats available - and the buckle position prevented me from securing it properly as well. The belt kinks and the position creates a slightly forward angle from the passthrough on the seat to the buckle. Leaving way too much lateral motion. I took the car to my local Audi dealer recently and they confirmed there is no available solution from Audi. I asked the service rep to escalate this with HQ but no progress. As a result of this, we are unable to safely install ANY car seat using the belt path, FORWARD and REAR facing, on either side of the Q7 second row. Please investigate for yourself. This is serious issue. Audi needs to take action here ASAP before someone gets hurt. Thank you in advance.Read more

The second (not movable) glass pane of the "panoramic sunroof" spontaneously shattered. That happened three days ago, because of the potential for water damage I need to have this repaired as soon as possible. However, until I get it repaired it is available for inspection. Apparently many Audi owners have experienced a similar phenomenon, commonly called "exploding sunroof", and other people
... have had the glass completely explode out. I did not have that happen but the glass did shatter entirely and completely. There was no rock or anything else that hit the sunroof as far as we know. It did leave significant cracks in the glass and I have photos of it. If the glass had completely blown out, it would have showered glass pieces into the passenger compartment. I did not involve the police or ask for a report. I will be taking the car to the Audi dealer and probably making an insurance claim because the repair will be fairly expensive. My car has always been dealer serviced on schedule. It is in excellent condition (outside of the shattered sunroof glass anyway). There were and are no warning lights or indicators related to the damaged glass.Read more

On February 19, 2022, I drove from my home in San Francisco to the Home Depot in Colma/Daly City. This is a 7 Mile drive one way on the freeway. There were NO warning lights. I put the car in reverse again, and now it was bu
... cking and stopped. It would not move. I had the car towed to my house on Saturday February 19, and again on Monday February 21 to the Audi Of San Francisco service department. The dealer told me that the problem was with the TCM (Transmission Control Module). It needed a SOFTWARE UPGRADE. Wow. This is really dangerous. Imagine if I was on the highway going 65 MPH and the TCM decided it needed a software upgrade. I am so happy I was in a parking lot. So, I always bring my car into the Audi Service department. And they NEVER upgraded the TCM software. They said it is not part of "maintenance". This is clearly Wrong! And Very dangerous. I am suprised that no on has been killed in an accident because of this. So, I paid: $250. Deductible Plus $275. Diagnostic. Plus $570. For TCM Software update ($1095. Total) Invoice/order #944256. Chris, the service advisor reported to me that Audi Of America Does NOT require or recommend Software updates to the TCM. And software updates are not part of the extended warranty. And also told me SOFTWARE is not covered under any warranty at Audi.Read more

1. The brakes all of a sudden failed. We were at an elementary school in carpool line - near children- the brake pedal did not work at all, nothing. Warning message to stop driving brake failure. The Audi-Sense alert did at least put on the emergency parking brake before hitting a car ahead of us. Turned off and on, checking if computer vs actual brake issue (see below, computer issues as well). T
... he car lurched forward, then warning, got out of line onto side of parking lot. After turning off and on again, it worked to drive again. Unclear right now if brakes actually gone but European recall Sept 2021 suggests this is really a brake issue and recall exactly as described here (I bought this car three months later, which suggests gross negligence on part of Audi here). 2. Tire sensors do not work, wrong readings on pressure. Safety issue. Similar e-tron recalled, but not mine - again, Audi negligence not properly recalling all impacted vehicles. 3. Additional computer errors. The screen goes black when in use and cannot be accessed while driving. Not a safety issue, but controls and visibility are lost. As I can only list 3 problems here will open a second issue for remaining failures on this 9 month old vehicle. Thank you, this model should not be sold in US. Unsafe.Read more

First thing is fuel smell in cabin very dangerous for me as well as any passengers Next is transmission there is no way telling how much fluid is in the vehicle that should be monitored by the consumer they have a right to know Front & rear axles seem to get worn quickly must be a problem in the drivetrain somewhere

This took place about a week ago. The car was parked in our driveway when the fire started. My husband had returned home just 15 minutes prior to the fire starting. I noticed there was smoke coming in our living room window. Then I looked at our security camas. And saw smoke pouring out from underneath the hood of my car. We tried to put the fire out with our two hose system set up and it wouldn't
... go out. So we knew it was electrical. We couldn't get close enough to open the hood so I couldn't pour baking soda on it. Two fire extinguishers later like 10 minutes the firefighters showed up and we're able to put it out. They confirmed that the arch came from the battery terminals /cables. Two of the fireman said they'd never seen anything like this before. Then the car tried to START ITSELF as my husband and the two fireman were standing right in front of the Audi. They had to cut the remaining battery cable that wasn't completely burned through before it stopped. My neighbor has a recording of the whole incident. The engine compartment is destroyed! The engine might be all right but we don't have the finances to do anything but clean up. Oh and for extra fun one of the fireman took an ax the the hood of the A4 cabriolet I have had for maybe a month. Now we have no car and no real means of being able to fix it.Read more
