on 5/15/25 at approx. 11am the vehicle was seen with smoke rolling out of the doors and windows, which were all closed. The vehicle had been parked since approx. 8am that day. Once the FD had the fire knocked down, they found that a seat belt retractor module, replaced in 1/2025, was most likely the cause for the fire and damage. The locking mechinisms were metled and unable to open either the dri
... ver door (where the fire had occured) or the front passenger door. The FD was only able to gain initial access to the vehicle by breaking out the driver window and the back passenger window. There were no warning signs of this happening. The vehicle is currently sitting with an auto body shop for an estimate of damage. Had the driver been in the seat they could have received severe burns, smoke inhalation or worse with the doors unable to open.Read more

I am writing to formally raise a complaint regarding a serious malfunction that occurred in my Tesla Model Y (2024) following a recent software update pushed by Tesla. A couple of days ago, my vehicle received a new over-the-air software update. After installation, my car began displaying two error messages, and key safety features, including detection of nearby vehicles and warning systems, ceas
... ed functioning. This creates a significant safety risk when driving, as the car no longer alerts me to surrounding traffic or visualizes other vehicles on screen. Upon contacting Tesla customer service, I was instructed to schedule a service appointment, which I did for May 21, 2025, at 2:15 PM. During the appointment, the Tesla service advisor confirmed that the issue began only after the software update. However, I was told I would need to pay $3,000 out-of-pocket to repair the issue because my car is no longer under warranty. I raised the point that the malfunction was caused directly by Tesla’s software update. Despite this, I was informed that Tesla refuses to repair it at their cost, even after acknowledging the connection between the update and the malfunction. Moreover, the technician informed me that this issue could escalate and create safety hazards in 4–6 months, yet no resolution or recall has been offered. Given the acknowledgment that: The problem was introduced by Tesla's software, The malfunction affects critical safety systems, and There is imminent risk to safety, I believe Tesla should bear responsibility for the repair and ensure the vehicle is safe to operate. This situation warrants urgent attention, both from a consumer protection and vehicle safety standpoint. I request that Tesla take full accountability and cover the repair costs immediately, or offer a rollback/fix to the software that caused the issue. Otherwise, I will be escalating this matter to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and consumer protection agencieRead more

I am the original owner of my vehicle, which I purchased brand new from the dealership in December, 2017]. The car is now five years old and has been regularly maintained. However, I have observed significant issues with the paint, which is bubbling and peeling off in large amounts in several areas of the vehicle. This condition is concerning, as it not only affects the vehicle’s appearance but
... also has the potential to cause rust and other mechanical issues if left unaddressed. Given that the peeling is occurring despite proper care and no external factors such as accidents or environmental damage, I believe this may be a manufacturing defect. I am requesting an evaluation of this issue and any available remedies under the manufacturer’s warranty, especially considering the potential for long-term damage to the vehicle’s structure and mechanical components. This incident happened on [XXX], I just got the Tesla data and police report. Here are the events as I remembered: - I was driving my 2023 Tesla Y with FSD supervised (v13.2.8) along [XXX] entered from [XXX] and driving close to north of [XXX] without any issue - Noticed a car in front of me braking hard (about 6secs from the recording dashcam footage) - Realized FSD was not braking hard enough
... (or at least it did not feel like it) - Slammed on the brake for what felt like an eternity (about 2 secs from the dashcam footage) - Rear end collision on the front car at ~25 mph, airbag deployed. I remembered feeling the brake pedal vibrating but did not stop the car at all. By analyzing the raw data provided by Tesla, it is found brake, accelerator, AEB, ABS and TSC were completely messed up after FSD failed, please refer to the attached analysis report. Note: The dashcam video file and the original Tesla data are available for reviewing if any need as I cannot upload along with this report. TWICE in the past month +. On [XXX] my wife and I were on our way to a family wedding and I was driving approx 75 MPH on [XXX]. I don't recall if I had cruise control on or not as I rarely use it. There was no vehicle was in front of me for hundreds of yards yet all of a sudden the vehicle started to brake very hard. I accelerated as I did not know what was going on and I had a car in back of me
... that started to gain. THEN last Friday ([XXX}) with my wife following me in her car on [XXX] through Ellicott City MD I was traveling at approx 25-30 MPH through a very small historic town when all of a sudden the same [XXX] thing happened. DEF no CC on . When we got to our destination I asked my wife if she saw my brakes come on suddenly?. She replied yes and said she saw the truck dip hard. I told her the brakes did it again. She said I should call the dealer. I did not as they are USELESS! THEN the electronics. On Star has a catalog of my complaints. The radio selections I make just disappear from the screen: Apple Car Play disappears from the touch screen and just goes dark. I have to stop the truck..(per on-star) open the door.. get out.. lock it.. wait 2 minutes.. get back in .. restart the truck, and this re-sets the computers(s). RIDICULOUS! I do not have Sirius but the radio goes dark often for about 2-3 seconds., then comes back on. I was told it is my I-Phone is causing this. [XXX]! What does my phone have to do with AM/FM radio?? I was told by GMC there is a patch to update the software. Koons GMC told me there was no such patch nor recall. I paid nearly $80,000 for this piece of [XXX]!
