On [XXX] while driving my 2018 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sport (VIN: [XXX] ), the braking system failed without warning while I was approaching a stop sign on a residential road. I pressed the brake pedal and felt extreme resistance and grinding, followed by a near-total lack of braking power. I was forced to abruptly swerve into an open driveway to avoid a collision. This sudden malfunction put my
... life and the safety of others at serious risk, especially had it occurred on a highway or near pedestrian traffic. The affected component appears to be part of the braking system—likely the master cylinder, brake booster, or brake line integrity—but a full diagnosis is pending inspection. There were no warning lights or messages displayed on the dashboard at any time prior to or during the failure. The vehicle gave no indication that a malfunction was imminent. Immediately after the incident, I parked the vehicle and did not attempt to drive it again. As of now, the issue has not yet been formally confirmed by a dealer, but I am in the process of getting it inspected by a certified independent mechanic, and I am willing to make the vehicle and its components available for inspection upon request. I also plan to provide documentation once the evaluation is complete. I only recently purchased this Jeep from Carvana a few months ago, and it is extremely concerning that such a critical failure could occur so soon. The vehicle has two completed recalls related to steering and rear windows, but none that address braking—making this unexpected failure even more alarming. I believe this could indicate a larger pattern or potential defect that has not yet been officially acknowledged or addressed. This event was dangerous and could have resulted in a serious accident. I am requesting that this complaint be formally investigated, and I am open to cooperating fully with NHTSA, Chrysler, or any affiliated parties in reviewing the failure and addressing issue. The contact stated that on a separate occasion, while her friend was driving 55 MPH, the vehicle vibrated abnormally, and failed to accelerate as intended while depressing the accelerator pedal. The contact stated that recently, the vehicle accelerated independently and then returned to normal functionality. There was no warning light illuminated. I am writing to express my serious concern and request immediate goodwill assistance regarding my 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee High Altitude . This vehicle has suffered a head gasket failure at just over 100,000 miles and has been diagnosed by the dealership as a cost for myself to fix head gasket and recommended a full engine replacement. I have been a loyal Jeep customer since I was 16 years old. I
... previously owned a 2008 and a 2010 Grand Cherokee and have always supported the brand. In May 2022, after saving up my hard-earned money, I purchased this 2019 Grand Cherokee High Altitude for over $55,000. The monthly payments are significant, but I chose this vehicle because I believed in the Jeep name and expected quality, performance, and long-term reliability. Unfortunately, this vehicle has been anything but that. In just over two years, it has become a complete money pit. I’ve already had to replace the water pump at 50,000 miles, the radiator at 80,000 miles, and now—at 102,000 miles—the head gasket has blown. These are major repairs that should not be happening on a vehicle that is so well maintained and primarily driven on the highway. I treat this vehicle like my own child, staying on top of all maintenance—fluids, filters, routine checks, and oil changes every 5,000 miles. I’ve also had to pay out of pocket for three separate rental vehicles in the last 18 months due to these recurring issues. This vehicle has not only been unreliable but has also disrupted my ability to work. I drive for a living, commuting between multiple job sites, and I chose this vehicle for its sharp look and supposed quality. Instead, it has caused me immense stress and financial strain. Adding to my frustration is the fact that I had a 7-year/100,000-mile warranty and was not notified that it was about to expire. Had I been properly informed, I would have explored my options before this latest major failure. It's clear that the 3.6L engine has a pattern of issuRead more

My 2022 Honda CR-V Hybrid began displaying multiple warning messages around February 2025: “Transmission System Problem,” “Blind Spot Info System Problem,” and “Emission System Problem.” The issue was eventually traced to incorrect transmission fluid used from the time of purchase. A diagnostic report confirmed widespread internal transmission damage (e.g., shift solenoids stuck, low f
... luid pressure, excessive clutch slippage). As the transmission failed, it overwhelmed the vehicle’s main computer (PCM), causing a breakdown in the F-CAN network and disabling connected safety systems like the blind spot monitoring and emissions modules. The drivability of the vehicle deteriorated rapidly—gear shifting became rough and unpredictable. The car began struggling to accelerate above 40 mph, especially during inclines or highway merges. This posed a safety risk not only to me but also to passengers and other drivers due to reduced control and system failures. I rely on this vehicle for work and have since had to limit driving to local roads only, avoiding highways entirely. The issue was confirmed by an independent service center. Diagnostic reports and dashboard photos were submitted to the manufacturer, but they have not accepted responsibility. Their representative acknowledged the symptoms but insisted it was the selling dealer’s issue. Meanwhile, the transmission continued to degrade. I believe this defect originated at the manufacturing or pre-delivery stage. The wrong fluid caused irreversible internal damage that has now jeopardized the vehicle's powertrain and safety systems. Despite reports, photos, and repeated communication, the manufacturer has delayed action, and the vehicle is now outside the powertrain warranty mileage due to this delay.Read more
