NHTSA RECALL #25V-586 Around September of 2025, I notified Alfa Romeo Customer service that my vehicle was experiencing symptoms of this recall. Symptoms include but are not limited to severe fuel pump whine that fluctuates with RPM, as well as intermittent LOMP. The whine is audible 100% of the time. The LOMP occurs intermittently, primarily shortly after starting the vehicle. On multiple occasio
... ns, I have to pull my vehicle to the side of the road because it is unable to effectively move under it's own power. Along with this LOMP, symptoms experienced are a heavy misfire along with a few service messages such as "Auto start unavailable, service electronic throttle, and service engine" along with a flashing check engine light. The fix appears to be power cycling the battery so that the fuel pump primes multiple times. I have called Alfa Romeo multiple times about this issue over the last few months, but all they tell me is that they cannot do anything until a remedy is available. Unfortunately, given the wait, symptoms have progressively gotten worse.Read more

The engine oil cooling system failed on my 2021 Alfa Romeo Stelvio 2.0T at approximately 45,000 miles. The failure caused engine oil to contaminate the engine coolant system, creating a brown/milky “milkshake” substance inside the coolant reservoir and throughout the cooling system. The dealership diagnosed the issue as an internal oil cooler/oil filter housing failure. The contamination affe
... cted multiple cooling system components, and the dealership estimated approximately $8,300 in repairs, including replacement of multiple cooling system parts. The manufacturer offered partial goodwill assistance toward the repair cost. Prior to diagnosis, the vehicle displayed low coolant and low oil symptoms. I had to add approximately one quart of engine oil. I am concerned this premature failure could create a safety risk due to possible overheating or engine failure while driving. The vehicle had been maintained normally and had not previously overheated. The issue was confirmed by an authorized Alfa Romeo dealership.Read more

Vehicle is subject to multiple open federal safety recalls with no repair remedy currently available from Ford/Lincoln. One recall involves potential fuel pump failure causing loss of fuel pressure, engine stall while driving, and increased crash risk. A second recall involves interruption of driver assistance and visibility systems including rearview camera, forward collision warning, lane keepin
... g, and related safety systems. This vehicle is operated in a commercial passenger rental fleet. Due to federal rental vehicle recall compliance requirements, the vehicle was removed from rental service immediately after issuance of the recalls and cannot legally be rented until repaired. Ford/Lincoln currently has no available repair remedy despite the recalls having been active for an extended period of time. The lack of available remedy has rendered the vehicle commercially unusable for an extended period while continuing to create ongoing safety concerns related to engine stall and interruption of critical driver assistance systems. The vehicle remains unavailable for lawful commercial operation pending manufacturer remedy.Read more

I own a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 equipped with the 8-speed automatic transmission. The vehicle has developed serious transmission problems that create a safety concern. When the transmission is cold, the vehicle slips between 1st and 2nd gear during acceleration. If I accelerate normally, the transmission slips and then engages with a hard bang. I must accelerate very slowly to avoid harsh e
... ngagement. In addition, during deceleration, especially when downshifting into 3rd gear, the transmission makes a hard "thump" or "bang". This unexpected shifting behavior creates a safety risk when entering traffic, making turns, or driving in stop-and-go traffic. The vehicle has been properly maintained, including transmission fluid service at a Chevrolet dealership, but the problem continues and appears to be getting worse. I understand many GM 8-speed transmission owners have reported similar issues. The repair cost quoted by the dealership is between $7,000 and $10,000, which suggests a possible design or manufacturing defect. I am filing this complaint for investigation of a potential safety-related transmission defect. While driving under normal conditions at roadway speed, the panoramic sunroof glass suddenly failed with a loud explosive sound. At the time of the failure, the interior fabric sunshade was closed, which prevented glass from entering the passenger compartment. 1. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? Fuel delivery system – specifically the low-pressure fuel pump failed, causing poor engine performance and ultimately requiring replacement. The repair was completed by an authorized Alfa Romeo dealer. 2. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? The vehicle began running rough
... and could have stalled unexpectedly, which presents a safety risk if it occurs in traffic or at highway speeds. Loss of engine performance can reduce the driver’s ability to accelerate or maintain speed, increasing the risk of a collision. 3. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes. The issue was diagnosed and confirmed by an authorized Alfa Romeo dealership, which replaced the fuel pump under extended warranty. 4. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? The vehicle was inspected and repaired by an authorized Alfa Romeo dealer. No inspection was conducted by police or insurance representatives, as no accident occurred. 5. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? Yes. The vehicle exhibited rough running conditions along with repeated safety warning lights over a period of approximately two weeks prior to the failure. The warnings became more frequent leading up to the repair, indicating a worsening condition. Given the nature of the failure and its similarity to issues identified in prior model years, I request that this matter be evaluated for a potential defect trend and considered for further investigation.Read more

While driving the vehicle went into complete limp mode in a busy intersection and I had to pull off quickly to avoid being hit by other traffic. Engine codes came up fuel pressure related.
Incident date: Mar 19, 2026
The vehicle is experiencing multiple system malfunctions involving the engine performance, fuel system, and electronic throttle control, including engine shaking while idling, activation of the check engine light, a “start/stop unavailable” message, limp mode (inability to switch between driving modes), and illumination of the electronic throttle control warning light. One dealership suggested
... the issue may be related to an open fuel pump recall after noting that previously replaced spark plugs were heavily carbon-fouled, indicating excessive fuel combustion; however, another dealership diagnosed the engine as “scored” and recommended major repair. This diagnosis is disputed, as an independent mechanic performed a borescope inspection and reported no visible internal engine damage. The issue is intermittent—some days the vehicle operates normally, while other days it becomes undrivable. This creates a safety risk, as the vehicle may unexpectedly enter limp mode, limiting acceleration and drivability in situations such as merging or navigating traffic. I have not been involved in any accidents related to this issue and avoid driving the vehicle when symptoms are present. The vehicle has been inspected by both a dealership and an independent mechanic, but not by police or insurance representatives. Warning lights and symptoms, including the check engine light, electronic throttle control light, and start/stop warning, began appearing prior to the drivability failure and around the same time I received notice of the fuel pump recall. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request.Read more

2022 Rivian R1T, VIN [XXX] . Recurring suspension defects since delivery June 2022, documented across 18 service visits over 3.5 years. Rivian performed multiple repairs including Gen 2 suspension component replacement. This defect has never been permanently resolved. On July 11, 2025, El Segundo service center [XXX] ) repaired the front end lowering in standard parking mode — causing the vehic
... le to sit unlevel and knock the tires out of alignment when driving off. They repaired the suspension and corrected the alignment. In August 2025 a related defect appeared: when exiting camp leveling mode, the vehicle does not return to drive height. Instead it behaves as though still entering camp mode, forcing a slow drive-away during which the vehicle behaves erratically, knocking tires out of alignment — the same mechanism as the July parking mode issue. I reported this to Rivian in fall 2025. Despite scheduling three appointments — January 21, February 10, and March 14, 2026 — El Segundo failed to complete service all three times due to inability to provide a promised loaner vehicle. Suspension unserviced since July 11, 2025 — 9 months. On March 31, 2026 I filmed the front end lowering in parking mode recurring — same defect supposedly repaired July 2025. Vehicle self-leveled when I manually raised the suspension, but recurrence after a Rivian repair attempt is a safety concern. Video dated March 31, 2026 available. Service appointment also deleted from Rivian app March 14, 2026 including active recall remedies FSAM-1795 and FSAM-1794 — addressed in separately filed NHTSA complaint. Surviving record altered by Rivian Service to state ride height appears normal before any inspection, contradicting my report and app video submitted January 2, 2026 at 9:34am. Formal complaint delivered to Rivian CEO via USPS Certified Mail March 18, 2026. No substantive response as of April 1, 2026.
