I requested that Tesla send the full data logs of the accident. It shows that my wife released the accelerator pedal right when the spin started. In most cars, releasing the accelerator causes the car to gently slow down. But Teslas, on the other hand, do aggressive regenerative braking when the accelerator is released. So it was as if my wife had pressed the break. HERE IS THE PROBLEM: THE REGENERATIVE BRAKING SYSTEM APPLIES THE BREAKS TO THE REAR WHEELS ONLY. On dry pavement this is fine, but on a wet road, going around a turn, hitting only the rear breaks was enough to cause the back of our car to slide out from behind us. Here is more detail: 1. Our car was All Wheel Drive. But the Tesla has published that for increased efficiency, they don't actually use the front motor except during high acceleration. This means that most of the time the car is only rear wheel drive. 2. Our car had under 25,000 miles on it, and the factory tires. The rear tires were worn more than the front tires, likely due to the car's acceleration being mostly applied to the rear tires. I believe that Tesla could fix this issue with an over-the-air recall. The recall would need to either reduce regenerative braking when wet roads are detected, or apply braking across both the front and rear wheels while on wet roads. Thank you!Read more

She called at 4:17 on May 24th, 2023. It was a clear sunny day. When my husband looked at the sunroof and noticed the glass coming up as opposed to caving in. So he said something did not fall through it it had to explode. We did call the dealership and they said they did not have an appointment until June 6th. My husband said we would have to clean up and take most of the glass out to be able to drive it. We did that and put cardboard over it so bugs could not get it. Our safety feels at risk because we don't know if the vehicle will stop, causing us to be involved in a collision, and we will be at fault for the collision. We have taken it to the dealership multiple times, but they have not been able to reproduce the issue, and we cannot reproduce it ourselves. The conditions for the issue to occur do not seem to be consistent. We have documented dates and time when the issue has occurred, but the dealership was not able to find vehicle logs for those dates. On 05/12/2023 received notice from KIA recall for tow hinge on vehicle. KIA did not address the engine failure on the 2016 KIA Sorentia GDI which I just finish paying off. My vehicle is parked up no monetary funds to purchase an engine or to pay for labor cost. Not having a vehicle is causing undue hardship for me and my children. Getting to work and my doctors appointment for chemo treatments is financially difficulty. It is a shame that KIA is allowed to duped consumers and put our lives at risk for profit without any consequences. A message popped up on the instrument cluster screen informing me to shift the transmission to Park in order to use the accelerator pedal. If this had happened on a road with little to no shoulder, the vehicle would have come to a sudden stop with nowhere to maneuver to. This would have created a dangerous situation for me, and any vehicle directly behind me. I then parked the vehicle on the side of the highway and with the vehicle still on and engine running, I again tried depressing the accelerator pedal. Again, there was no response from the pedal. I then turned the vehicle off, and restarted the vehicle. I was finally able to use the accelerator pedal and returned to the highway and my drive. The dealership was contacted a few hours after the incident, and the vehicle has yet to be inspected or problem reproduced. The vehicle is a 2024 MY and has been owned for only one month. Unfortunately, this incident is only one of five total electrical issues I have had with this vehicle. This was the most important issue to report because it involved my own safety.Read more

Now it malfunctioned for the 3rd time in May 2023 with 57,155 miles. This appears to be a known issue for Nissan with TSB NTB19-071. I am frustrated that Nissan is asking for payment to replace a faulty sensor that affects air bag deployment in an accident. I believe this is a safety issue that Nissan should pay to replace. My ask is for Nissan to recall these vehicles or voluntarily replace the faulty sensors at no cost to the vehicle owner.Read more

My car is lunging forward when I stop at a traffic light once I let my foot off of the brake to step onto the gas pedal. My engine light happened to come on to coincide with this problem. I feel that this is unsafe.

While braking into a parking spot, vehicle experienced sudden unintended acceleration. Brake did not engage, car rapidly surged forward over parking block, sidewalk and hitting building. Previously in day, car would not recognized key fob, would not unlock and would not start even though stepping on brake that would not depress. I had no control over vehicle,and this could have hit pedestrians
... on sidewalk or storefront. Thankfully no one hurt, and did not occur in traffic or on the road. The dealership was contacted immediately, and they declined to inspect vehicle, codes or EDR statign that's not what they do. I have asked dealership 3 times. Insurance contacted immediately, and they to will not investigate, saying up to Honda and dealership. Honda stating they don't do investigations, and Insurance should do that. Round and round we go. No one assisting. Auto Body referred by dealership unable to investigate and do not have equipment to do so and stating dealership and Honda tech needs to do this investigation. Several messages displayed the day of incident prior to incident and electrical issues seem to have started immediately after recall or warranty work to reprogram auto stop function. First instance of electrical issue was on 4/1, when car would not open, or unlock even with new battery in key fob. This continued over next 3 weeks sporadically. 4/24 car would not start, displaying "must press down brake" to start, but brake would not depress. Finally worked. Same thing 4/25 in morning. In evening car would not unlock for some time, finally opened, then would not start displaying "Key fob not detected". Finally started. Message remained displayed. 15 min ,after, when parking, car accelerated forward without warning. This is a short summary, and a detailed summary is available. I was driving on a highway using the adaptive cruise control. Several times the car braked for no reason at all. There were no cars in front of us, it was phantom breaking for no apparent reason. It was a long road trip of 12 hours over 2 days and I stopped using cruise control when anyone is behind me out of fear of causing an accident. The issue happened at least 15 times over the 2 days. I
... t is a safety issue in my opinion, as other cars following you may rear end you when the car brakes hard for no reason. I've owned the car for a while, and it seems to have gotten much worse than it was before. There are no warnings before it does the phantom breaking. I have not had it inspected by anyone else. I believe it is a software issue that needs to be fixed by Tesla, as there are no error messages, and all my cameras appear to be functional.Read more
