Driver's side door on my 2013 BMW X1 sDrive28i will not open using either the outside door handle or the inside door handle. The door locks open and close using either the remote key fob or the key inserted into the driver's side door, but the driver's side door will not physically open. The other doors, as well as the rear hatch, do open. The mechanical part of the door lock actuator that holds t
... he door latch to the striker plate on the frame on the driver's side door is stuck in the closed position. When you pull on the either the outside or inside door handle, the door moves ever so slightly but the door will not open. In order to lock the car after trying to open the driver's side door, one needs to then push the driver's side door in slightly so that is clicks shut. This will due to the slight movement when trying to open the door. Otherwise, the car locking mechanism will not work (i.e. none of the doors will lock) using either the remote key fob or the key in the door. This failure happened suddenly without warning. This is a safety issue because it makes it difficult to exit the vehicle in an emergency. Not being able to open the driver's side door is also a MAJOR inconvenience. The right front door actuator failed at 23,844 miles and was replaced under warranty. BMW door actuators used on the 2013 BMW X1 are not reliable. I have driven several other brands of cars over 200,000 miles and for more than 10 years and never once had a problem with the door lock mechanism and I certainly have never had a problem which left me unable to open the driver's side door.Read more

I was traveling on the highway (on a very rainy day), when my car's green signal lights and orange engine light began blinking. I attempted repeatedly to speed up, but my car just wouldn't go any faster. Once, I proceeded to get in the right line, I was almost hit by a group of tractor trailers. I called my spouse in a panic, who advised me to get off at the next exit. I followed his advice, pulled over, turned off my car & started it again. The lights turned off & proceeded to get back on the highway. About 3 minutes later, the orange light flashed the same message, "Some Driver Assists...." I immediately called Leith Acura & tried explaining what was occurring. Once hanging up with Leith, the dash continued to display "call ended" with Leith's number flashing every few seconds. The torque converters for the 2015 Chevy Tahoe’s or the 6L80 transmission are failing at a rate not seem on a newer vehicle. Chevy dealerships in my area are backed up for 2 to 3 weeks just to look at the possible problem. The failure appears to be due to poor design of the transmission torque converters. Safety is at risk due high failure rate that could occur at highway speeds and thus mak
... ing the vehicle stop without brake lights and possible fail in the middle of the highway. At highway speeds this failure could cause serious damage and possible death. Due to the 2 to 3 weeks for the transmission to be looked at by Chevy, I chose to take my vehicle to a private repair shop. Prior taking my vehicle to the shop the shop knew based on the high failure rate that my transmission failure was based on the torque converter but the total damage was not known until the transmission was rebuilt. The transmission torque converter problem was reproduced and confirmed by an independent service center. The Transmission was inspected by AAAA transmission located in Fort Worth. The only warning I had of the failure of the transmission torque converter was accelerating to access the highway and the vehicle started to lose power and shutter due to the lack of acceleration. The luck for me was the highway was not crowded and I did not merge on the highway with the loss of power and possibly getting hit from behind by another vehicle. There were no warning signs of the failure the vehicle just started showing signs of the failure that day. The failure first appeared on June 30, 2023. Attached is the copy of the repair bill and pictures of the metal shavings due to the failure of the torque converter which destroyed the transmission pump. The shavings are steel and aluminum particles.Read more

Headlights do not work. I have replaced the low beams bulbs 3 times since purchasing my car over three years ago and each time the lights only work for a brief period of time them seem to short out unexpectedly, for no reason whatsoever. The high beams have been replaced multiple times as well. I purchased the fluorescent bulbs for better night vision. The lights were bright for a short period th
... em dimmed and are only as bright as they should be if they were on low beam. This is some sort of an electrical issue or something to do with a manufacturer’s defect. Since I purchased my vehicle almost 4 years ago, there has been an ongoing issue with the transmission or alternator. The car “jumps out of gear” when putting the vehicle into park or when shifting the vehicle into drive from park. There is also a constant loud “humming/vibration” sound that clicks on and off continuously once the car is initially crunk up. The passenger door is coming off due to the loosening of bolts I assume but I’m not certain. Nothing has happened to cause this issue. The power outlets in the vehicle get extremely hot at times and cause phone cords to heat up. This has caused my phone to be destroyed! The rear view camera is now blurry with lines going through it. This is only happening when the car is put into reverse and rear view camera is in use. The Bluetooth and media in the vehicle gets stuck on “Sync Line In” & at times will not change to any other setting. This seems to be an electronic issue as well. There have been MANY recalls on my vehicle and I have taken it to the Ford dealership for repair each time however, none of these issue have been resolved . I purchased a 2010 Hyundai Sonata in February 2022 from the original owner. In July of this year, my engine failed due to the oil consumption defect found in many of Hyundai's engines produced at the Alabama factory. My oil and check engine light came on before it was time for my following oil change, despite making on-time synthetic oil changes during ownership. The vehicle hesitated and jerked

On 8/20/23 heading south on I-294 in Chicago : in center lane with cruise control on and no cars close in front of me when the car suddenly started a hard braking without warning. No orange warning to brake came on but engine warning light of left of dashboard was on. Immediately turned off cruise control. Car would not accelerate and came to a stop on the highway. Tried to start without success,
... then restarted and the car came on but in neutral. It had been placed in Park before shutting off. Car started and drove uneventfully back to Indianapolis. Took to Acura dealer and diagnostics were run showing that "position range" switch or sensor had been activated. Told it was safe to drive. We do not agree and are selling the car. Dealer, or service Dept was very lackadaisical about the incident. I will contact Acura corporate headquarters as well.Read more

ABS/Traction control is definitely a safety issue due to brake not functioning properly as the truck is designed to do. Dealer says there are no alternative parts that can be installed & there is no reca
... ll. This is a rather costly replace/repair. Why is RAM not doing something to address this issue? There are forums online that say this is a known issue. Some state that RAM recalled some selected trucks, but my truck does not come up for the recall. THIS NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED. ABS IS SOMETHING YOU DO NOT WANT TO FAIL IN RAINY CONDITIONS. WE SHOULD NOT HAVE TO MAKE THESE REPAIRS TO OUR ABS SYSTEM EVERY COUPLE YEARS. THE CODE COMING UP IS: C0020-01 - ABS PUMP MOTOR CONTROL - GENERAL ELECTRICAL FAILURE.Read more
