My vehicle has not repaired. I have not been in an accident. However there are two open safety recalls for my car and I am terrified that myself or someone else is going to be injured or even killed due to this problem has yet to be resolved. The first recall for my car is the headliner plates. I took my car into my local dealership (Stokes Kia of Goose Creek) and they told me it would take 10 bus
... iness days before they could inspect my car and determine what the problem is (it’s a recall so I don’t understand why they would have to identify a problem that was clear in recall letter). However, I asked if they would repair my car within that 10 day period if they “identified” the problem. They told me it could take an additional 10 business days or longer for the repair (for them to get around to fix it because they were extremely backed up). I asked if I would be provided a loaner vehicle or rental and they told me no. They instructed to try the other Kia dealership which is much further away from me. I ended up trying the other Kia dealership. However, they told me they would not provide a loaner car but they did schedule an appointment for my repair. They told me it should not take long for the repair but they could have my car for about 3 days until they can get around to fixing it. I went along because I wanted the issue fixed so I prepared to make arrangements for the possibility that I wouldn’t have a car for 3 days. However, like the day or so before my appointment Kia Country called me saying that the parts for the repair were on a national back order and that I would be notified when they are available. I have yet to notified. Now there is another serious recall that there is no remedy for. I am extremely uncomfortable with my car with these recalls that can’t be fixed. This is not my fault so I shouldn’t have to suffer or be without a car due to these problems. I want to know what other options do I have?Read more

I was cruising on california state highway CA-110 while the car pops up "stop safely now" on the instrument cluster. I lost all power for acceleration and relies purely on 12V battery to power the accesories. There was no emergency lane near the location of the incident which leads to the blockage of highway on the junction from CA-110S to I-10W. This post a significant threat to me as the driver and all other drivers on highway. More importantly, the 12V almost died before the tow truck and police could arrive to solve the incident. Fortunately, I was not hit by ongoing vehicles, but multiple vehicles have to brake agressively to prevent collision. The car was unable to be shifted to N or D since the incident. -Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? The vehicle had been inspected by Service department at Central Ford and confirmed by engineers at Ford to be a HVBJB failure. - Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? 2 warnings and notifications can be seen from information cluster: "Full accessory power active", and "Stop safely now." Strong gas fumes smell from vehicle when parked. Issue starts around 50k miles. No lights on dash or anything. Multiple people in forums online experience the same issue around the same mileage. Some say it's a leak from fuel lines to the fuel pump.

Started out as misfire codes. Replaced spark plugs then ignition coils. Still getting misfire codes. Discovered engine coolant low and through research found there to be an KNOWN design flaw/issue with these engines that usually results in an entire COSTLY replacement to the customer. Listed in Ford TSB 22-2229. This should be a recall covered entirely by ford.

While driving on a freeway for about 15 minutes at 65 MPH, the MIL indicator started blinking. The vehicle began to rapidly shake, while the engine power decreased significantly. The engine dramatically went from 65 mph to 35 mph causing a safety hazard while driving on the freeway as we attempted to exit and pull over safely. ... iles per year. All maintenance has been performed in accordance with the manufacturer's schedule. It has not been involved in any collisions or other user risk other than normal driving in accordance with the approved use of the vehicles. Upon trying to restart the vehicle, the vehicle continues to violently shake while in park. Notification lights indicating Brake Failure, AWD failure, Check Emissions System, etc. There were no other indicators that there was an issue with the vehicle prior to this instance on 4/20/2024. In fact, the vehicle was viewed by Cerritos Acura for its regularly schedule service on 4/10/2024 and no issues were identified by the dealer. As far as safety, we were traveling with two young children and the location of the freeway did not have a safe place to pull over. The sudden reduction in speed also put us in risk with surrounding vehicles. This appears to be related to TSB 20-053, however, no communication have been identified or communicated by the dealers to the the owner/operator of the vehicle.Read more
