2021 Mazda CX-5. On 8/6/24, I turned right into a parking space between 2 parked vehicles at the DMV parking lot. I turned right and eased into the parking space facing a large Ford F 150 white pickup truck. I was approximately 1-1.5 feet from the front of the white truck. I had my foot on the brake, suddenly the vehicle accelerated by itself and I heard the car revving at a very high rpm and th
... e car took off. My sister was a passenger and she heard it as well. None of the collision or brake notification avoidance features came on the screen or were implemented as a safety measure or accident prevention. I had my foot on the brake and I had no control over the vehicle. The car lurched forward hitting the right side near the headlight of the car on my left and the pickup that was in front of me. My car hit the white pickup so hard that it pushed it out of the parking space in front of me and perpendicular to the parked cars in the row. We both were injured, my sister in ICU and had to have emergency cervical surgery for fractures impinging her cervical spinal cord. The Mazda was totaled. It is impossible for a Mazda to push the Ford F 150 pickup truck, that was facing me , out of the parking space and perpendicular to the row of parked cars with just 12- 14 inches between the pickup truck and my vehicle unless it was revved up to a very high rpm. The police report has some inaccuracies, it states I was turning left into the space but was actually turning right and says I possibly passed out but that is not true. I was in shock when the police questioned me. I have also relived every second of this accident in slow motion many times since. I am a 5 foot women and would have had to floor the gas peddle and even then would not be able to push a large pickup truck out of the space in front of me, and continue out of the parking space landing sideways in a 12-14 inch space between the front of the 2 vehicles.Read more

Every time I start my new Mercedes, the backup camera MUST recalibrate itself even if I never put the vehicle in reverse and am driving forward. This happens throughout the entire drive, every single time. The Mercedes forums all corroborate this as other models; not just the GLB, experience this. Mercedes denies anything is wrong and says this is “expected behavior for rear camera calibratio
... n”. This makes absolutely no sense why a rear camera would need to recalibrate itself on every drive even when you never place the car in reverse. Furthermore, the backup camera is the “pop out kind” so you constantly hear it popping out and popping back in. It’s extremely distracting as it continues to pop in and out as I slow in traffic at a signal or stop sign. This is with certainty, a manufacturing defect and must be remediated. Thanks for listening as it’s appreciated.Read more

I recently purchased a new 2024 Nissan Versa S with the manual transmission. I am an experienced manual transmission driver; however, I have stalled it 3 times in the last 5400 miles. The following issue appears after stalling and restarting the vehicle. After restarting the vehicle, everything seems normal. There are no warning lights on the dash to show otherwise, however when you begin to a
... ccelerate, the vehicle seems to be in some kind of “limp mode”. The vehicle is extremely sluggish and will barely accelerate. The first time this happened I stalled the vehicle in traffic. After restarting the car, I slowly pulled up to the stop bar as I continued to complete a U-turn at a green stop light with oncoming traffic heading my way. I had no knowledge that the vehicle would be in this “limp mode”. This almost caused an accident because the vehicle had very little acceleration and I could not accelerate fast enough to get to the speed limit as oncoming cars quickly approached behind me. I continued to have acceleration problems in multiple gears, so I pulled over, parked the vehicle and shut off the ignition. Upon restarting the vehicle a few minutes later, the slow acceleration issued seemed to go away. This “limp mode” has happened to me 3 times in about 5400 miles. I have been driving manual transmission cars for over 25 years and have never had a vehicle go into “limp mode” simply because I let the clutch out to fast/slow and stalled the vehicle. Stalling out a vehicle with a manual transmission occasionally is normal. Going into limp mode afterwards is not normal and is indicative of a serious safety deficiency within the vehicle. Upon reading the other reports of similar circumstances regarding 2022-2024 Versa’s with manual transmissions, it seems there may a larger safety problem with these vehicles.Read more

Bike started slowing down, numerous lights came on, engine stopped running. Made my way to across 2 lanes of traffic to the side of the road. Turned the bike off, put down kick stand, got off the bike, walked about 20 to 25 feet away. The Check Engi
... ne Light did not come on. Came back, got on the bike started the engine and came home, approximately 30 miles. Had 3/4 of a tank of fuel. Did not try the cruise again. Did not ride the bike from April 9th until I went to Sonoma Harley on August 23 for repair. The bike is available for inspection at any time. I explained what happened, they wrote up a repair order with an estimate of $74.00. They said the $74.00 would cover their Diagnosis time in case they didn't find anything wrong. I refused to sign the repair order and left. I met with the dealer service manager on August 28th. She said Harley doesn't pay diagnosis time unless the find something wrong. The tech would ride the bike on their 5-mile test loop, and try the cruise, if it didn't fail, it's on us. She asked if the Check Engine Light had come on? I said no, it didn't. Service manager said the ride the bike, try the cruise if it fails again, call her immediately. I'm extremely reluctant to ride the bike and with the lack of concern about the engine dying while driving at highway speeds. I believe this is a huge safety concern. The Ridgeline is unsafe with the mirror tilting and moving when in reverse. Mirrors need to be adjusted every time I go in reverse. EVERYTIME. This is unsafe as the mirror not only fails to stay static or wherever I adjust it to. It drops down (the mirror) every time I put the truck in reverse. The Ridgeline is unsafe when I back up, the mirrors move and distort and defeat the whole purpose
... of a mirror rendering it ineffective and a huge safety hazard. The Ridgeline is unsafe when the truck lunges forward when placing in park, after reverse. I suppose it is trying to get the mirror back to the Orginal position which needs to be adjusted back every-time. The mirror is not static. When placing in drive after reverse the lunge is not only jarring to my neck and back, it is completely unsafe. In my lay opinion what I think is happening is the truck’s computer is waiting for the mirrors to return to their position, but then are out of focus requiring me to pull over to readjust the mirror every time I back up. This is extremely unsafe especially in tight environments like parking spaces (backing out. Parking. Adjusting mirror to correct and safe position. Then proceeding with my trip). This is impractical in some situations and thus ineffectual in all others. Coupled with a wiring harness failure in cold temps for mirror, cameras are ineffective as well. I live in Minnesota and we have extreme winters. The harness issue is a previously recalled issue. But it is only compounded by these other issues.Read more

... the vehicle and its transmission system are available for inspection upon request. The malfunctioning clutch and potential transmission damage pose significant safety risks. A failing clutch can lead to the inability to change gears properly, which can cause the vehicle to stall or lose power unexpectedly while driving. This could result in a loss of control, increasing the risk of an accident, especially in high-traffic situations or on highways. Furthermore, the presence of metal in the transmission fluid suggests that there might be further internal damage that could lead to sudden transmission failure, further endangering the driver, passengers, and other road users. Yes, the problem has been confirmed by two different service centers. Initially, the Ford dealership diagnosed the issue as a stuck clutch and replaced the clutch assembly, but this did not fix the problem. Subsequently, AAMCO inspected the vehicle and identified metal in the transmission fluid, indicating a more severe transmission issue. Both these findings confirm that there is a persistent problem with the vehicle’s transmission system. Yes, the vehicle was inspected by a Ford dealership (the manufacturer’s representative), who diagnosed the clutch issue and performed the initial repair. Additionally, the vehicle was inspected by an independent service center (AAMCO), which identified metal in the transmission fluid, indicating internal transmission damage. There has been no inspection by the police or insurance representatives at this time.Read more
