Halfway through the carline, I pushed on my break as the car in front of me had come to another complete stop, however, my break never engaged and my Wagoneer continued to roll forward without any warning or rationale. I continued to frantically push on my brakes trying to get my car to stop without them ever engaging and I rolled directly into the back of the SUV in front of me. I ultimately had to turn the gear to 'Park' to prevent the car from continuing to move forward. After sitting for a second and shifting it back into Drive, I did not experience another issue, however drove straight home and have not driven it again out of fear. My brake fluid was replaced less than 3 months ago and my pads and rotors are in great shape. There is zero reason this could have happened. I have an appointment with the mechanic (Corwin Jeep) tomorrow morning to look into the issue. Thankfully no damage was done to either car based on how slowly we were moving (1-2mph) but I cannot stress enough how catastrophic this could have been had a child been walking in front of my car, or had I been driving on the open road. They said this was not a known problem and to them it appeared to fix itself but would let me know if there was any way to fix. Car has just been in for regular multi point inspection on July 24th. On August 20th went to get in the car but none of the key fobs would open it. Called two dealerships but neither could come up with answer. Chevy Roadside was called & came to get into the car and ended up jumping it. At that time the battery was tested and it appeared fine. It was recommended to run it for a half hour. I ended up driving it for an hour with no extras on. On August 25th the next day I went to drive it the battery of this 1 year old car was dead. Called the two dealerships to see what could be done & was told to bring it in. Called Chevy Roadside Assistance who dispatched someone to open the car and jump the battery. This person found the battery was not holding a charge & said nothing when I said I was driving it to the dealership. Got 3 houses away & a message that the Brakes have failed. Press hard to brake popped up. In addition the steering locked up. I missed hitting a lady with a kid in a stroller by 6 ft but managed to get it to the curve & with 3 pushes into park. It was towed to the dealership. When it arrived at the dealership the brakes locked up so it would not back up off the flatbed. It had to be forced off. Dealer blames poor battery but can't explain July 31st or why battery readouts say okay.Read more

We had the car shipped back to Denver where we live and Emich Kia declared it a “total” because they said the frame might be bent. I have contacted Kia Corporation and their CEO repeatedly to point out that their car malfunctioned and did not stop when it was supposed to stop. They do not care and did state that the car had only sustained damage to “crushable material”. Since the damage was to crushable material and the air bags did not deploy, it is obvious that it was a slow speed crash and the emergency braking system and the warning system should have functioned. This 2024 Kia was our second 2024. The first new one we purchased stuttered violently and the check engine light illuminated each time we drove down from the Colorado mountains. Once again, Kia took no responsibility for this issue for over a year so our local dealer finally bought back that lemon and sold us the one that malfunctioned in the crash. Two faulty Kia Tellurides in one year points to serious problems with this car and the Kia corporation because they will not acknowledge problems nor attempt to solve them in a timely manner. ... d surging under acceleration. These symptoms persist even after a most recent torque converter replacement (and subsequent re-replacement as outlined below). This creates a serious safety concern particularly when accelerating into traffic, merging and driving uphill, but also in low speed maneuvers such as navigating a parking lot. The vehicle often feels like it is misfiring under acceleration when trying to merge, then surges forward erratically. In parking lots at low speeds, the downshift of this transmission is so abrupt that it often causes the driver and passengers alike to believe that the vehicle has been hit from behind. The repair history started within 2 years/24K miles as follows: - 01FEB2018 @ 28140 - Drain flush and fill transmission for Shudder/Hard Down Shift - Diagnosed as Torque converter issue. I agree with a lot of these Honda/Acura owners that this malfunction of this camera is a safety issue for the car drivers and others around them since these codes just pops out suddenly making the drivers so nervous during driving. Also, these cameras under the windshield get so, so hot that it could also start a combustible hazard. These units should be encased in a heat-tolerant case/cover and not metal.Read more

the vehicle's antitheft system automatically triggers. There are two different events here: 1. Anti theft system triggers when the engine is off. When I attempt to start the car, the engine will not activate. By going through a series of locking and unlocking attempts (via key fob, via door locks, via keyless entry) I can eventually get the engine started. This event happens every other day.
... 2. Anti theft system triggers when the engine is on, while driving on the road. This results in the engine shutting off, and both the steering wheel and brake pedal locking up. I took the vehicle to a Lincoln dealer (Dave Sinclair Lincoln St. Louis) and after running diagnostics they suspect the root cause is due to an Apple Air tag that is attached to the key ring of the key I'm using, and the PATS sensor module mounted to the bottom of the lock cylinder could be triggering/sensing a security event as a result. I do not think a reasonable resolution to prevent future issues is to not have an air tag (or similar device) in the vehicle. The anti theft system triggering when the engine off is an inconvenience. However, the anti theft system triggering while the car is in motion is a major safety hazard.Read more

Transmission malfunction. This has appeared several times at highway speeds and low speeds. We have dad to limp along in the slow lane to exit ramp and take back roads to the nearest dealership. The current problem has been confirmed with error codes P0747. The dealership has scanned this vehicle and detected error codes in the past on two different occasions and found P176C in TCM on 08/01/2
... 3 and P17D6 on 10/24/24. Check engine light comes on with a screen prompt “Reduced Acceleration Drive with Care”. The transmission valve body has already been addressed once because of triggering limp mode.Read more

I was driving my 2016 Ford f150 in Ventura California on August 29th 2025 when my throttle began to accelerate on its own after taking my foot off the gas pedal. My truck sped up out of control, I almost lost control of the vehicle and crashed. Luckily I was able to gain control and get it into neutral and then into park. ... e. I put it into park and the rpms lowered to a normal level. While this was all happening a wrench icon popped up on my dash. Once the wrench icon came on I noticed my dash wasn’t telling me what gear I was in or if I was in park, neutral or drive. I pulled into the closest parking lot. I put it in park and every time I gave the truck gas the throttle would continue to accelerate on its own and would rev extremely high on its own. I also noticed as I was sitting it the parking lot at idol there is now a thumping sound/ jolt when selecting what gear to go into. I don’t know if this was caused from having to slam the car into neutral and then into park so I wouldn’t crash when the throttle accelerated. I shut my truck off and it wouldn’t turn back on. All of my electronics work but it doesn’t even want to try to start or turn over. I had to tow my truck home and it is now sitting in front of my house unusable. I have videos I can provide.Read more
