Before work began I left voice mails and emails with the service manager of Rohrman Kia in Schaumburg, Il. No one reached out. I spoke with Jim at same location on 11/10/2025 at 4:00 pm who told me it was my responsibility because the part was no longer under warranty. I filed a complaint (24149522) with BBB. on 11/13/2025 after I had to pay my mechanic $1000 to fix problem which obviously is a defect. On 12/3/2025 I spoke with Mike from Kia who said part was no longer under warranty and will not reimburse. I asked him to prove the previous thermostat was installed correctly according to the service action sa 346 and he said they have certified techs and they do not have to prove that to me. I would like Kia to accept responsibility for this part. Also carfax does not show all times Kia replaced that thermostat.Read more

Incident Description: This failure has occurred twice under similar conditions (ambient temperature approximately 25°F). On November 28, 2024 and again on January 2, 2026, after driving approximately two blocks at low residential speeds, the vehicle abruptly and completely shut down while in motion. In both incidents, the shutdown was immediate, without warning, and accompanied by a loud thud and an extremely abrupt stop. Safety Risk: In both incidents, the vehicle became completely immobilized in the roadway. I was unable to steer to the side of the road, restart the vehicle, or shift it into gear to move it out of traffic. This created a significant risk of collision. A similar failure at highway speeds could result in a severe or fatal crash. Warnings or Prior Symptoms: No warning lamps, messages, alerts, or other symptoms appeared prior to either shutdown. Problem Confirmation or Reproduction: The issue has occurred twice under cold-weather conditions. Inspections: After the first incident, the 12V battery was inspected and no issues were found. Following the second incident, the vehicle is currently being inspected at a Chevrolet dealership. No police or insurance inspections were performed. This blocks GPS, temperature control, car information, radio controls, everything on the main screen. You have to physically tap a button to get it to close taking attention off the road. Wheel lug nuts get swollen due to the material used causing problems when the wheels need to be removed. I was lucky to not be in an emergency situation needing to change a wheel out. I was told there were other incidents of windshield leaks in the model (and possibly other LR Products) and they said they couldn't do temporary fixes and either windshield had to be replaced or possible fix w/o replacement. I recently found on line various incidents reported of windshield leaks some of which damaged electrical connections that caused driving and safety hazards. Also found Lemon Law case advertisement (2024?) about this type of damage. Significantly, found online 3/23/2020 LR “Service Action N221 Windshield Water” re 2018 Discovery & 2015-2018 Evoque, See attached. My local auto body shop put on temporary tape to mitigate leak until fixed. Have been driving for many years & owned numerous cars over that time. I never saw or heard of such a leak. For this to happen out of the blue in my view in a well maintained car that looks brand new is a manufacturing defect that the manufacturer should be responsible for beyond any warranty without the need for litigation, as well as a safety and driving hazard that should not occur.Read more

I feel under risk cause its a highway with a lot of traffic of cargo trucks going more than 75 MPH Im available any day for inspection when needed. This isn't the first time the car do this , but in this case now caused an incident. Before I did the first maintenance on the car for the 10k miles. I took it to the dealer cause since new the car present this issue and they never found nothing wrong on the car supposedly. The specialist technician of the dealer drives with me like 20/30 minutes to verify the issue but the car just do it when it want not always, its like a glitch on the system. It activates some times with the high/lows on the street or speed bumps or on the train rails. The car never present any warning on the dashboard or emergency lights just happen for 2-3 seconds and then goes back to drive normal. Not the first time ,it does since new i got the car since 0 miles and since the 1st week I noticed this but now the fail is worst cause never has do it to me at highway like this time does it just when passes thru speed bumps at low speed.Read more
