On July 1st, I had a defect in the electrical system of my Corvette nearly causing a major accident with several cars and trucks due to a immediate and unexpected loss of engine and propulsion. I was driving about 75 mph on highway in busy traffic. Car randomly and without any human input - flashed a false alarms for an open hood, although the hood was actually latched and perfectly closed. As the car was going 75 at time of the alarm, the car QUICKLY dropped speeds without any brake lights due to the false fault. I could not accelerate to keep safe speed to get to the breakdown lane. The car immediately would not respond. The semi truck and cars behind me nearly rear ended me, which I had to quickly move lanes to avoid. The new lane change resulted in other cars barely missing and all coming to a screeching halt while my car rapidly decelerated <25 mph on the busy freeway. When the fault occurred - The hood was mechanically closed and fault went away just by restarting the car/engine. It was intermittent and dealership said with no codes they couldn’t recreate the issue and so no help. The following day on the highway, it started again. I was attempting to stop at a red light and with my foot on the brake, the vehicle attempted to lurch forward and try to go despite the brake. Thankfully, the light turned green and the car in front of me moved. As I continued to drive, I was left stranded with the codes showing actuator failure and cam shaft failure. The dealership then said it was the cam shaft and all actuators that needed to be replaced this time. The SAME rattling and shaking and power loss they said was caused by the transmission they rebuilt 3 weeks earlier but now it is caused by the cam shaft. So 2 repairs later and 4 weeks, it did it again and this time it caught on fire and burned a hole in my hood. The dealership called me the day after I had it towed into the dealership smoking staying it was the heater hoses that caused the shaking, rattling and power loss. Said they could have it fixed the next day. It is a disaster. It is a major safety issue and I am still paying payments on this car that ford cannot fix. I was not provided with a report from the Data retrieval. I just received a letter from the case manager, Sarah that they did not find anything unusual. After I was able to pull over and turn my truck off, the truck would either not turn back on or take a while to be able to turn on. I had no warning that the transmission was about to shift gears and only noticed a check engine light after the incident had occurred. After taking my truck to a transmission shop and they did not find an issue with the transmission (it worked correctly while they test drove it), I took it to a Ford Dealership where I was told there was a fault with the CAM Shaft sensors. After a $3,000 repair to fix the issue, I recently found Ford has Recalled 2014 F-150s for issues that sound identical to what I was experiencing in my 2015 F-150.Read more

However, as of today, July 1, 2024, I have not received any communication from Fisker Automotive regarding this recall. Further, Fisker does not respond to email communication sent to [email protected] or via phone at 844-347-5371. The lack of notification and the missed deadline for corrective action have left me with serious concerns about the safety of my vehicle and the potential risks it poses to my passengers and other road users. This delay also undermines the trust and reliability that consumers expect from automotive manufacturers, especially in matters as critical as vehicle safety recalls. I kindly request that the NHTSA investigate this matter to ensure that Fisker Automotive adheres to its obligations under the recall process and takes immediate steps to inform affected vehicle owners and remedy the identified defects promptly. Vehicle is exhibiting issues consistent with the recalled lead frame part on previous year models, despite my 2016 having the same transmission as they do. Truck will randomly downshift into first at slower speeds causing engine to rev very high and not want to shift into next gear. Often times it will get “stuck” in 3rd gear even when coming to a complete stop and leaving a stop in 3rd still.

In the dashboard, EPS (Electronic Power Steering), VSA (Vehicle Stability Assist), ABS (Anti Lock Brake system), and BRAKE lights would turn on and off Intermittently. The lights could turn on starting the car in the morning or after driven for some time, for short period of time - 15 minutes to long period of time - 60 minutes. When these lights are on initially, a clank could be typically heard.

Car lunged forward when lightly stepping on the gas while making a turn onto a busy street. Then it later lagged in responding when I stepped on the gas. About 5 minutes later, the car dashboard lit up and said there was a transmission error. Mechanic's diagnosis found code P0756 for a shift solenoid B stuck off. The car is unsafe to drive.

The fourth failure was on [XXX], headed [XXX] toward Fremont, when the vehicle, without any warning or signal on the screen, braked abruptly when I was in the express lane and traveling between 65 and 70 mph. The trucklet braked precipitously, and I quickly pulled past some pylons into a construction shoulder area to avoid a chain reaction collision! In a couple minutes it seemed to indicate things were normal, and I waited some minutes until I could re-enter the freeway from the left into the high speed express lane (!) and have been able to drive the next couple hundred miles without these jarring sorts of malfunctions. These constitute 4 separate incidents, three of which could have precipitated accidents. Who knows what's next? ... e to steer (without power steering support) into the emergency lane as the car dramatically dropped speed. The brakes were also not being supported by the booster so it was extremely difficult to push the pedal, thankfully it was on a bit of an uphill. Put the car manually into park after it stopped, and by itself the car restarted, although some of the cluster components and infotainment components were very slow to restart. The next time this happened was in slow traffic, once again the car shut off with no warning of any kind. Once I managed to get the brake pedal pushed far enough for the brakes to engage, I managed to stop the car within a foot or so of the person in front of me. Once again, I put the car in park and it was able to restart on its own. Both times it has been to the dealer, Don Herring of Plano, and as helpful as the service advisor is, there is still no solution in sight as they keep changing electrical components left and right. I am worried about the car becoming a rolling ball of metal that I cannot stop one day. I hope Mitsubishi figures this problem out, otherwise its a fatality waiting to happen.Read more
