The Lead Frame in my truck went bad. I was driving on the highway doing 70mph, the truck downshifted to 5th and I lost control of what gear I was in. When I came to a stop the truck was still in 5th gear and it died. I was unable to restart the truck and had to get it towed.

... wever, my vehicle also had outstanding recalls, including one for the fuel pump, which I was informed they did not address and ended up being the issue with the engine in the first place but instead they informed me I would need to pay for a new engine roughly $20k. I then took my truck to Hayes Dodge Ram Jeep Chrysler in Gainesville, Georgia. While they did perform the recall for the fuel pump, I was charged $400 to update the system—an action I believed should have been covered under the recall. After this service, my truck continues to run poorly and still displays check engine lights related to a crankshaft sensor, which I understand is also under recall (number X94). This issue has not been addressed, further compounding my frustration. Given the circumstances, I am deeply concerned about the effectiveness of the recall process and the service I received. I would appreciate your investigation into this matter, as it not only affects my vehicle but potentially other consumers who may be facing similar issues with Ram trucks. During this entire time, I did not press the accelerator and the car was violently shaking and jerking right and left. Vehicle purchased 1st March 2024, 1st warning at 5336mies currently at 5421 miles. They triggered the service engine light and stated via onboard computer it was an issue with a lower front driver side radiator something that may have been bumped while taking off the front clip, which they chipped and area and left a bit of gap at the fender connection. Other than the small dimple on the plastic from what I believe the sensor had been bouncing against, there is no damage. A safelight windshield company stated there is a notice/recall on the "auto headlight sensor on dash" but they do not cal them, only the optic sensor top center of windshield. BUT per the manual that top sensor plus lower radar can control the forward crash, cruise setup and auto braking. Mind you this was only after I elevated my concerns to Ford Corporate who sent a specialist to investigate. Only then did Koons Ford acknowledge that yes there is a "big problem". Yet, since the repair the jerking and power issues have continued. When we followed up immediately after the repair we were told again "vehicle has to learn how you drive". So I waited 3000 miles and reached out again and was told I needed to go to the dealership and drive it with a technician in the car (yet again, not taking my word seriously). Then this summer the issues intensified and eventually the power boosters failed and needed to be replaced. This vehicle is NOT safe and Ford has misled me along the way. It has been a constant fight to get them to help us. Bottom line, this is our primary family vehicle as we have five children, four of whom I drive around daily. It is not safe or reliable. The vehicle has almost led to three major accidents, where I was stuck with cars honking at me. It's pretty pathetic when friends and coworkers frequently say "you don't have your car again?!? What's wrong with it now?" Please I kindly ask that you hold Ford fully accountable. The powertrain control units (engine and/or transmission) exhibit concerning behaviors when accelerating from a stop. The actual vehicle acceleration and propulsive torque does not match driver demanded torque for an extended period of time. The amount of delayed reaction is longer when the vehicle is ‘cold’ meaning that the vehicle has not been running prior to driving for an extended period
... of time. There is some amount of initial acceleration that allows the vehicle to move into the road but then the propulsive torque seems to go away completely for 3-4 seconds. The torque delivered after this delay is then exponential which is again not matching what the driver is asking for. The unintended torque can put the driver at risk of being in a lane without the ability to accelerate out of danger in time. For the situation of having too high of torque can put the driver in danger of hitting an object because the driver was not planning to accelerate so aggressively. These two behaviors can compound on each other as well. When the driver experiences the too low of drive torque condition, the driver could apply more throttle to correct but this will only make the too high of drive torque condition worse. These behaviors occur after every drive-off from standstill. There is a TSB to help improve this behavior. There are no active faults or warning lamps. Many other owners and dealerships confirmed this same behavior. The occurrence date was set to the date of this complaint but these behaviors have been occurring since date of purchase of vehicle.Read more

The car was at the dealership from Friday Sept 13th until around Oct 9th. They finished their testing and sent the info to corporate Mercedes on Wed Sept. 18th. I finally heard back from Mercedes corporate on Oct 3rd, 2024. They said that they didn't find any malfunctions. During this waiting period I was pressured by the Mercedes dealership to file an Insurance Claim. I said I wasn't filing a claim until I heard back from Mercedes Corporate. There have been several cases online where the same issue has occurred by other Mercedes owners. One was almost exactly the same as mine. The only difference was that the car stopped when the tires were flattened. I have been driving for 50 years and have never experienced anything like this. My nephew was in the car with me and I repeatedly said to him the brakes aren't working. The car was a write off. I had to file an insurance claim.Read more

The dealership states that the engine needs replacement but is unable to verify any damage in the cylinders. They also said that our truck was not covered under warranty. So we took it to a local body shop. They fixed it for just above $500. It worked for a week and broke again, then they fixed it again for free. The brake failure 43 mph light came on for the 3rd time. We took it Garber and they fixed it after 2 weeks and charged us a fortune. Invoice attached. A few weeks later the same light came back on. Garber then took another 2 weeks to fix it! I’m writing here as I’ve seen other silverados recalled for the same issue but not my exact truck (year). It’s obviously faulty software and it should not be the customers responsibility to fix. Especially with a vehicle under 20k miles! There is absolutely no way that we will ever buy a GM again but the important part here is that other people are not put into a dangerous situation like we were. Besides dealing with this issue for well over a month - the important part is safety. I can’t understand how these trucks have the same problems but only certain VINs qualify for a recall. I brought the vehicle to the Chrysler Dealership where they initially stated this is a known issue and they would be replacing the transmission and that the transmission is under 10-year/unliminted miles warranty for this specific error (POA43 Driver Motor), however once the dealership spoke with Chrysler corporate, they indicated that they would simply be clearing the code and they returned the car to us. We were advised to bring the vehicle back when the error recurs. We opted to sell the vehicle immediately instead, because it it not safe to drive now, but unfortunately this means we are passing the problem on to another consumer as Chrysler refuses to fix the problem. No accident occurred but I was surprised when the car began to slow without warning on a major highway at high speed. When it was safe to do so, I pulled over into the breakdown lane to read the messages. The two messages displayed were Front assist has limited availability and Emergency assist currently not available. The picture on the front of the dashboard also indicated that ACC was not available. Over the next few days while driving locally (without ACC engaged), these three messages would periodically appear on the dashboard. I brought the car into a local VW dealer (Wellesley Volkswagen) to have it looked at by the service department. They indicated on the invoice from the visit that they "performed road test. RAND GFF and performed soft configuration of the 5F, front sensor and cluster. Reset all codes with success." The invoice also listed "Concern: 919A vehicle software open. Correction Not available at this time - customer will get notice via mail". I was told by the VW Wellesley representative when I picked up the car that these error messages will likely re-appear until I get the 919A software update, which is not available. These error messages did re-appear yesterday, October 12, while driving locally without ACC engaged. As a side note, I received a recall 919A in the mail from Volkswagen in July 2024 (more than 3 months ago) telling me that a recall repair is not available.Read more

The phantom braking on highways is awful, it is so bad that I am afraid to drive in the winter. The torque of the wheel sensor is not safe, when auto steer disables it can take you by surprise causing you to swerve into on coming traffic. The car accused me of using a cheat device one time so I decided to try it and surprisingly I found that it is actually much safer than using my body weight. Our insurance is aware of the issue but it has not been checked by anyone other than the dealership service department. Without that camera many safety features are disabled, like a front collision warning, lane departure, cruise control with adoptive speed, emergency breaking. The speedometer can report zero (0) when the car is moving slowly. This is probably the rounding policy in software. The actual speed was maybe 0.4 mph, but was reported as zero mph. If the actual speed was 10.4 mph but reported as 10, fine, not a big deal, but zero has a much different meaning than any other value. It means none, that the car isn't moving, but the car was.

When I got home, I discovered that this issue is a known problem with Tesla, yet they’re placing the blame on drivers. Having never been in a car accident before, this experience has been overwhelming. As a mother and attorney, I believe it’s crucial to examine this situation more closely. ... es oil. I started noticing the excessive oil consumption around 115K miles. My oil lamp does not illuminate when low on oil in nearly all cases I have been low on oil. It has only come on once (did not remain on) and oil was not present on the dipstick. I am 687 miles into my current 1,000-mile oil consumption test and have had to top off my oil twice. I started the test because my oil light flashed and oil was not present on the dipstick. The engine light came on 312 miles into the consumption test. I got a diagnostic code from AutoZone and relayed the diagnostic code to the dealership. The dealership said the code was related to low oil and to fill up with oil and bring the car to the dealership. I filled it with oil and drove the car to Luke’s Auto for an independent inspection. Their inspection found that the check engine light was from a failed e-cvvt and additional wear was present. I asked if this could be caused by oil consumption issues and they confirmed the possibility. Just over 300 miles from that incident, I checked my oil and it was once again low. I am deeply concerned about the safety of my vehicle due to it's stalling and indicators of potentially seizing. I have had near collisions on the highway due to my vehicle getting "stuck" while accelerating and unable to enter the highway at a safe speed. I am concerned about the consequences of lack of oil and failure of my oil lamp to illuminate to indicate no oil such as my engine seizing or catching fire. Vehicle Information: 2024 Kia EV9 Light Long Range Mileage: 850 miles Issue Summary: I am reporting a serious safety concern with my 2024 Kia EV9 Light Long Range. Within the first three weeks of ownership and with less than 900 miles on the odometer, I experienced multiple instances of the vehicle entering "turtle mode" while driving at high speeds on the freeway. Incident Details: While driving at 80–85 MPH on a California freeway with my family, my 2024 Kia EV9 LLR suddenly entered "turtle mode" without warning, drastically reducing speed to 30–40 MPH. I had to quickly activate hazard lights and navigate to the shoulder. At the time, the battery level was around 15%, and I initially thought it was a low battery issue. However, the following day, after fully charging the vehicle, the issue recurred with approximately 82% battery remaining. Over the next few days, this happened a total of four times while driving at freeway speeds. On the fourth occurrence, the vehicle shut down completely after coming to a stop and would not respond to acceleration until multiple restart attempts. Current Status: The vehicle has been towed to the dealership by Kia Roadside Assistance. The service team is currently investigating the issue and has opened a case with Kia corporate, but no diagnosis has been provided at this time. Given the severity of this recurring issue, I have also opened a buyback/refund request with Kia corporate. Safety Concerns: This defect presents a severe safety risk, as the sudden loss of speed while driving at high speeds on a freeway could easily result in a rear-end collision or other accidents. The inability to accelerate or maintain control over the vehicle creates an extremely dangerous situation, especially in high-traffic environments. I had to try a couple of times before it started, and I attempted to drive as safely as I could, made it to 60 mph before it stopped running completely. I had to pull hard on the steering wheel to get to the shoulder again, only this time, the shoulder was pinched off in front of us and around a small blind spot behind us. I had my daughter move to the side closer to the cement barrier while waiting for a tow truck. She became very nervous about how close some of the other vehicles got. Afterwards, the error codes indicated several components pointing to a timing chain problem. I had the timing chain repaired around April or May of 2023 by a certified mechanic. I watched the oil life percentage and oil temperature gauge consistently. Everything indicated as normal, but I had difficulty pulling out the dipstick to check the oil level. Since it was hard to get a good reading, I tried to add some oil and recheck. The oil cap was nearly impossible to open, so I decided to wait for an oil tech to do it. Around 40-50% oil life, I had planned to have the oil changed. In spite of my efforts to maintain proper oil quality, the oil cap had to be opened with a wrench. Smoke rose out and dried out oil residue lined the inner walls. It was about a quart low. I don’t drive hard on it and it had only been around 3,000 miles between oil changes. It had been one year since the timing chain was replaced. Error codes remain and the vehicle runs rough if it stays on long enough after much effort to start it.Read more

This will be the 2nd time I've had to replace the Crankshaft position sensor and Variable Timing Solenoid, along with a brand new timing kit that I had put on right after I bought the car over a year ago, that is now in need of repair. There has to be some way that Chevrolet can fix these issues for those of us who buy their vehicles. They are supposed to be safe, dependable, durable and last longer than what they do before they start having all of these issues. I have had so many problems with the last 2 Equinox's that I have owned and each one of them have all had the same error messages pop up within a year or less of driving them, some have lasted over a year. I as a vehicle owner should not be held responsible for these kinds of issues going on in a vehicle that I still owe for. Chevrolet needs to understand and take care of their customers to prevent accidents from happening, vehicles from breaking down after short periods of time and replace/repair these malfunctions at their cost so that people like me don't keep going out here spending hundreds of dollars for the same fix after a year or 2 replacing, and it sometimes still not even fix the problem.
