Since purchasing the vehicle, I've had several incidents where my safety and those inside my vehicle are compromised due to the loss of drive power and stalling of the vehicle while driving. I've complained to the dealer for which they continued to assure me that there was no problem detected during the safety inspections. However, I continue to have the same problems of stalling and loss of drive power when driving the vehicle. There are no warning lamps or other issues detected by the dealer according to their safety inspection. My safety and the safety of my passengers, continues to be put at risk. While driving in the highway it is especially dangerous because when I'm changing lanes the vehicle will not accelerate putting me at a risk for a collision. When I am turning left into a street, I feel that it looses power and am stalled in the middle on the street risking yet again a collision. When I would come to a complete stop at a stop sign it would stall battery light and oil light would come on. I would need to put it in park then turn it off and turn it back on. It also would suck up oil like crazy I would need to replace the oil every few days otherwise it wouldn't start. I took it to the shop and 2 of the 4 pistons blew and all the timing stuff stopped working.

On June 13 2023, I received an alert on my dashboard that my cruise control was unable to be used due to an issue with the front sensor. The alert went away soon after but then reappeared on August 27th, 2023 the error appeared again. Specifically error code C162078. I wasn't able to get the issue repaired until November 2023, which is also where they replaced my faulty backup camera.

Yes, the problem has been reproduced, and l've visited my local dealer and discussed the situation with them and they confirm that this has been an ongoing problem for over 2 years. Warning lamps only came on as soon as the problem started, though at the time I did not notice a problem as I did not have to slam on my breaks and make use of the anti-lock/anti-skid function. While driving down the highway, the vehicle significantly lost power while going up a hill, so much so that I had to downshift into 2nd gear in order to maintain and not lose speed. This is incredibly dangerous as I was only able to climb the hill at about 20 mph while the flow over traffic was 55 mph.

Ford has a "safety compliance" which has an expiration date of 10 years or 150,000 whichever was first. How is that even allowed? The transmission seems to have alot of issues and I was told because I am past 10 years..yet still under the 150,000 miles id have to pay full price for the backordered part through Ford only which was quoted at $470.00 and that doesn't include any labor. Ford is letting people down majorly. I wish I never bought the truck because it was so exciting to finally have a nice vehicle only to be let down in numerous areas. While driving Dec 10, 2024 my VW Taos failed to accelerate after slowing at an intersection. If this happens when I’m turning, on coming traffic has to slow down unexpectedly. The EPC light and check engine light came on. Car would not go above 15-20 mph. Called dealer and cautiously drove car to dealer. The mechanic said a popped fuse was reason the lights came on and car wouldn’t accelerate.
... They replaced 10A fuse and said codes/lights corrected. Now on 12/23/24 same exact issue has occurred. This is a huge safety concern. Taos 2022 models had a safety recall for a fuel delivery module that was causing that exact same issues and EPC and check engine light to come on. I am waiting for the dealer to call me back now to discuss how serious this really is and to get them to acknowledge they didn’t truly diagnose the vehicle the first time (given the 2022 Taos safety recall). I am adding my own experience to previous reports of the car entering limp mode after popping the clutch. It has happened to me three or four times: when the car has accidentally stalled and turned off, after turning the car back on, the car accelerates very slowly, much slower than normal. Typically, this problem resolves at the end of a trip after the car has been turned off for a while.

If I put the car into drive or reverse and stepped on the gas, the car interior lit up and the dinging sound (usually associated with unbuckled safety belt) was heard. I had my safety belt fastened. My car could be put into neutral and had to be towed to the dealership. After looking into the issue, I found out that the car could had died while I was driving it resulting in loss of power brakes, etc. I live in a more rural area and could have been stuck with out cell reception, etc. This should be a RECALL and they never should have let me leave the dealership in my car. Note: As of today (12/20) the dealer rep stated they will cover all towing costs and cover a loaner vehicle for me. My dealership is very helpful BUT this could be a serious issue for someone else. It barely has any propulsion power and I have to turn my hazards on any time I am going to accelerate. If I brake hard the engine will shake violently and then shut off. I then have to switch gears from drive to park or neutral to park to drive to reengage the engine. Recently it has turned on all the accessories but the ev and the gas is greyed out and there is zero propulsion power. I replaced the 12v battery thinking it might have been dying and it still has the same issue. While driving approximately 10 MPH and coming to a stop sign, the contact decided to come closer to the stop sign however, the vehicle accelerated past the stop sign. The contact attempted to depress the brake pedal several times however, the vehicle failed to stop until approximately a block away from the stop sign. There was a certified mechanic nearby who inspected the vehicle but found no cause for the failure. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that the cruise control fuse had failed. The dealer replaced the fuse. The contact was uncomfortable with the fuse being in the vehicle, so the dealer removed the fuse to deactivate the cruise control. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a complaint was filed. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was 90,000.Read more

... ted to almost nothing. As I crossed a railroad crossing and realized I didn't have engine power, I just hoped that I'd be able to cross and not end up dead on the tracks. Thankfully there was still enough engine power being made available to me to cross the tracks safely and park further down the road. I then turned off the vehicle, called the rental emergency hotline, and was actually able to start the vehicle again at that point without the error. However, the check engine light was still illuminated.
