While driving our 2023 Chevrolet Duramax diesel suburban, I was waiting, at a complete stop, against the median to make a U turn. When the traffic cleared, I began the turn when I suddenly noticed a nearly complete loss of power, hesitancy of engine engagement, and little response to the gas pedal being depressed. Then an error message appeared on the dashboard stating "Low acceleration warning".

We have never had problems of this significance, or seen this error message before. I have spent over thousands in 2024 in a small amount of time, going to multiple shops, trying to figure out issues. I have been told these models are known for having ECU and electrical issues. I have had my keys reprogrammed, 2 new batteries, 2 new alternators, all new 6 fuel injectors, new MAP sensor, all new spark plugs

This computer and electrical system is horrible and dangerous. The electrical is parasitic draining my alternator and battery although I have replaced twice in 2 month. No shop can figure out what is wrong with the ECU and electrical. It is draining my pockets, and putting my children and myself at saftely risk. I have done extensive research on this issue. I received a letter in the mail from Ford for this exact issue prior to me even setting up an appointment since I am the vehicles new owner. The vehicle is now with Ford and once driven (I was told that they did test drive the vehicle although its not stated on the receipt) are able to replicate the issue since you only need to push the gas pedal (every time you press the gas) to discover these issues but have refused to fix the issue because there are no codes/indicator lights on the dashboard even though the issue is easily replicated and IS the exact recall issue. I was told that the door latch was working (its not) despite the open recall on NHTSA for the latch and I was told that their SSSC (Special Service Support Center) was called for approval however my understanding from Ford Customer support is that when you call the SSSC its a simple yes or no question. If the issue is able to be replicated when driven the answer should be YES there is a problem, so that they can get approval to proceed. However my ticket/receipt from Ford does not state any of the above. They want me to pay for another diagnosis, $200 because there is no code/indicator light. If the issues are able to be replicated and are on Fords Customer Satisfaction Program 24N07 they should be fixing the issue. This is a major safety issue and the vehicle should not be driven in this condition as well as I should NOT have to pay Ford to fix a recall (multiple recalls) which they have refused to fix, stating no repair per recall.Read more

While driving on 12/20/2024 the 2020 Honda Odyssey started showing 5 warning lights (ACC, LKAS, Collision Mitigation System Problem, Road Departure Mitigation System Problem, & Auto High-Beam Problem) on the dashboard, along with the “BRAKE SYSTEM” light. After these messages and light popped up, the cruise control would not work. The crash mitigation system would not work (automatic breaking)

All of these safety features would not work which posed a combined severe safety issue to my family while driving the van, and those around me on the highway. After parking the van, I Googled these messages and saw that not only was this an issue with my model of Odyssey, but with several of Honda’s vehicles which use the same Monocular Camera. After getting my battery checked to ensure there was no low voltage issue (to which there was non and the battery checked out okay), I took the van to a Honda dealership. The Honda dealership performed a “Express Service Multi-Point Inspection” diagnostic test and told me on 12/23/2024 that the Monocular Camera was defective, which controls all of the safety systems listed above. On 01/02/2025, the Honda dealership replaced the defective Monocular Camera, to which they charged me full price for the Monocular Camera part itself and the labor to put the Monocular Camera in the Odyssey. Once the repair occurred, ALL of the messages and lights on the dashboard have cleared and all of the safety systems mentioned above are now working correctly.Read more

The mechanic kept my car for a week and replaced the transmission valve body which cost me $1871.68. I called Nissan HQ and spoke to a customer service rep, customer service supervisor, and the executive office for Nissan. All three company representatives would not reimburse me because I did not go to a dealer for repair. I explained that I was stranded, barely outside of warranty by time or miles (I had purchased an extended warranty which expired 5 months prior.) I feel the transmission failing with such a young vehicle is a safety issue and I need to be reimbursed. I used work at Toyota Motor Sales for 23 years and they would have reimbursed their customers for this vehicle failure. Please help. Thank you.Read more

For a third time, I pressed "Start" and, again, the engine roared to full RPM. I hit the "Start/Off" button. A fourth time the engine started at normal RPM. Transmission and all other systems worked fine and continued to work normally for several hundred miles since then. There was no CEL, or other warning. There was no indication that it entered "Limp Mode." I suspected that something went wrong with the logic in the electronic transmission. Mercedes Benz dealership could NOT find any codes logged in the OBDC. The service manager told me, "It might have been some kind of computer glitch." This was a 2-lane, country road. The semi was behind me, and several cars were behind the semi. For about a mile there was no place to pull over. One impatient driver passed both the semi and my Sprinter in a "no passing" zone. Because it is sporadic one, the dealer was not able to reproduce the problem. However, the dealer did acknowledge that I had a problem, but said there was nothing more they could do. The danger is that if someone is following you closely behind and all of a sudden you get this forward collision warning that breaks the car, the car behind has to break suddenly in order to avoid a rear end collision. I have researched online and find that there are other owners of this same car that have had the same problem. I found only one instance where Kia accepted the videos as evidence of the problem, and apparently gave the dealer instructions that when accomplished, seem to have fixed the problem. The inconsistent failure behavior of the vehicle could easily lead less technical owners/drivers to incorrectly interpret how the car is behaving. The only message you receive while driving could be that 'cruise control is not available', and 'automatic emergency braking unavailable' with a message that the features may be restored later in the drive. My coworker has a 2022 Model Y and the same component failed on his vehicle and needed to be replaced under an extended warranty that was purchased from Tesla. I'm unsure how widespread the failure of this critical safety system is; we both purchased FSD and both had the same component fail and need replaced. I don't personally know others who own this vehicle with the FSD package to know for sure.Read more

This often results in an overspeed situation when approaching curves. In older models of Freightliner, and maybe in current versions that are adjustable, there is a setting to change this to closer to the set speed. In this model, or large companies' ordered versions, this adjustment is not available. The idea is to save fuel by "hyper-mile" style of driving. This truck will brake, and continue braking unnecessarily (and unnecessarily hard braking) for a vehicle that is completely out of my lane (by several feet), before continuing and regaining speed. When driving in highway traffic at moderate to high speeds (as well as low speeds), the truck will often accelerate with (and towards) a vehicle that is less than 1 second ahead of the truck. Certainly this often happens when there is not a safe distance between the truck and the next vehicle. The trucks systems in no way seem to expect that the next vehicle could slam on brakes at any moment.
... I have had this happen many times when a vehicle merges too close in front of me and then accelerates. The truck will accelerate with the vehicle (that the truck is now tailgating), even though there is slowing or stopping traffic directly ahead of the vehicle the truck is following. The Safety Director at Tyson Foods, Robert Carl, told me in a conference call about the unsafe flaws in the truck, that these Freightliner systems are programmed to "try" to maintain about a 2.5 second following distance. Even this is patently unsafe. Driver safety guidelines (FMCSA) are: "If you are driving below 40 mph, you should leave at least one second for every 10 feet of vehicle length. For a typical tractor-trailer, this results in 4 seconds between you and the leading vehicle. For speeds over 40 mph, you should leave one additional second." It would appear that Daimler/Freightliner may have used Autonomous Driving software that was designed for cars, and has tried to "adjust" it to work in tractor-trailers. That is speculation, but based on the supposed target following distance, that may be correct. 2.5 seconds is certainly too close, and the distances of less than 1 second that I have commonly seen are not acceptable in any truck.Read more

The cruise control (level 2 autonomous) will turn itself off without any warning sometimes. This happens any time the truck is set for above the speed limit by more than 2 mph. The truck uses a speed limit map, independent of actual posted speed limits. ... ng or notification. This is a problem when I expect the truck to continue its autonomous function in traffic situations, but it does not, and without warning. The system will even disengage while it is operating; it will be slowing or maintaining a following distance, then disengage. The driver has no idea if the truck is still auto-driving until he is close to a rear-end accident. Also, bear in mind that speed limit signs are often only posted on the right side of the road; If there is something blocking the sign, like another vehicle, the cruise will still disengage without warning, and the driver does not know it. The only way to tell if cruise is still engaged is by looking for a small green icon in the bottom left of the dash display, which is over 20 degrees down from focal view. Also, there are times when the cruise disengages for no apparent reason. Sometimes there is a barely audible bluetooth-disconnect type sound, but often there is no audible warning. The Stibilitrack in the truck went out just after 20 minutes of driving in 34 degree rainy weather at 65 mph. Found out that it was the passenger front bearing reluctor had chipped away, which is what the wheel speed sensor reads. Once one those go out, you lose Stibilitrack and ABS. While driving at highway speeds the vehicle will suddenly decelerate forcing vehicles behind said vehicle to make defensive maneuvers to avoid hitting our vehicle. We have taken the vehicle to the dealership twice for this condition. This time we were told it was the EGR valve, but it was on backorder. We are now forced to drive this vehicle until it is repaired.
