Occasionally (more frequently when cold) the vehicle does not accelerate from a stop or rolling stop. You depress the accelerator pedal and nothing happens, the vehicle does not accelerate. After a few seconds the vehicle will sometimes catch and rapidly accelerate and other times you have to release the pedal and depress the pedal again.

I have a 6 month old Escalade with approximately 7,000 miles. On Wednesday, 01/08/2025, I was driving on a highway with my son, going approximately 65 mph when my car display suddenly alerted "Going into Neutral". When my husband informed him "about 7,000", the mechanic then replied "yeah, that sounds about right." To me, this infers that Cadillac is aware of this incredibly dangerous problem and has not recalled vehicles to address this. The car has been at the dealership for 4 days now and no diagnostics have been run at this time to see what the issue is. We have called Cadillac directly and there does not seem to be any concern about what happened to me. I honestly am traumatized at the thought of what could have happened to my son and myself had I not acted so quickly. I do not want this to happen to anyone else. I am so thankful that I was able to get to the shoulder before my car shut off completely but I easily could have been slammed into many times, as the highway I was driving on frequently has cars traveling 70 to 80 mph. Completed NHTSA recall 24V-868 at my dealer December 13th 2024. ICCU failed on 1/1/2025 and I am awaiting on the 3rd ICCU for my vehicle in less than 2 years. Similar issue happened December 2023, completed the ICCU recall and had the ICCU fail in a similar fashion.

My 2016 Jeep Patriot has experienced failures with the crankshaft position sensor listed in that recall twice now (in September 2022 & December 2024). My VIN # [XXX] ) is not included in that recall, so I was denied reimbursement by the manufacturer both times even though the dealer was able to reproduce the issues both times (see attached receipts). After experiencing this twice, this has been severely disturbing for my family and has caused much anxiety when operating my vehicle. When approaching a turn, I let off the accelerator but the car didn’t stop accelerating. Instead, it gently kept accelerating. I applied the brakes and the car started slowing down but not at the same rate I was applying brake pressure. Therefore I floored the brakes to try coming to a complete stop. Sadly, the cars ABS system did not engage, half of the car hopped over the curb at about 20 mph.

The car was deemed a total loss by my insurance company American Family. Essentially, the vehicle malfunctioned causing the accelerator to stick which caused the car to be harder to control than designed. The car malfunctioned by not engaging the ABS system as well. There is a recall on this exact problem for the 2017-2019 model but not for my 2020 even though it was manufactured during that campaign. Additionally, the inaccurate speed readings can affect other vehicle systems, such as collision alerts, adaptive cruise control, and braking systems, which rely on accurate speed data to function correctly. For example, collision alerts may not activate in time, adaptive cruise control may not maintain safe distances, and braking systems may not respond appropriately to speed changes. Furthermore, the driver display includes a light that indicates when the vehicle is exceeding the detected speed limit for the current area, which is rendered unreliable due to the inaccurate speedometer. Additionally, the console only displays speed in kilometers per hour (km/h) with no option to switch to miles per hour (mph), which is problematic for North American vehicles and other countries that use mph. The low fuel light also comes on with 20 miles left, which could be related to the same calibration issue affecting the speedometer and other systems. The problem has been reproduced and confirmed by an independent service center. However, the vehicle has not yet been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives. I had the ABS HBU replaced a few months back and was told the new unit was part of the old stock and would most likely fail. which it did. unfortunately i am one of the people in this world who could not afford to not drive my vehicle as the truck was $70k new and i still am currently driving it due to not being able to afford to replace it of park it and rent a vehicle. The HBU has been a known issue in these trucks for the passed year and they just issued a recall on 12/08/2024. this problem was first noticed on 05/08/2024. was taken to dealer shortly afterward and was told that these are known to fail and currently no remedy to the issue. as of 01/07/2025 there is still no remedy or time on when parts are available for replacement.Read more

My 2014 F150 was recalled for a software patch pertaining to the lead frame in the transmission because the vehicle would abruptly downshift at any speed. After having the recall performed by a dealership, it continued to have the same issue. I was told by the Service Manager the lead frame was bad but the recall did not cover the repair. For my safety I had the repair done and it cost me $18
... 69.64. I contacted NHTSA and was told the dealership would have to contact Ford Motor Company for a warranty code to cover the cost of the repair. Ford Motor Company said the dealership should pay for the repair up front then get reimbursed by Ford Motor Company. The dealership said only NGTSA can include the lead frame in the recall so I was responsible for the cost of the repair. As of this date (1/7/2025), I'm still out $1859.64. I have the lead frame that was removed from the truck and there are no obvious defects (cracks, buildups, etc) so the issue has to be with the control mechanism within the lead frame that the software patch should have corrected. Why has the recall not been upgraded to include replacing the lead frame?Read more

This resulted in it being taken in earlier than the repair date. The vehicle is still awaiting repair. There were no warnings of this failure, it simply all happened at once. The dealer informed the contact of an undisclosed Customer Satisfaction Program however, the 10-year limitation had been exceeded. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The manufacturer transferred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 147,000.Read more

Vehicle shut-off while in route, in traffic, check engine light then came on. The second time this occurred, check engine light came on and immediately vehicle proceeded decelerate from 55 mph to 25 mph while I was on a highway. On several occasions I have shared with the dealer at service appointments that I experienced transmission sensor issues causing delayed shifting, not able to shift into reverse or drive from park, vehicles stalled, and rough gear changes, unusual noises coming from the transmission. The engine check light would come on, then disappear shortly after, but not always. Service appointments by a Jeep dealership resulted in them updating software, which I shared did nothing to resolve the problem, so I brought the vehicle back and asked they check the transmission fluid level and cleanliness of the fluid, and whatever else needed to be checked. I was told the transmission was completely sealed and it was fine by the dealership. It was not fine, and the vehicle stalled again, and again it while on the freeway, almost getting into and accident, the transmission locked up and would not move past 30 mph. A warning light did not appear. I brought it back to the Jeep dealership for repairs because it is not safe to drive. I am being told that the transmission is defective by the service department. I asked if they drove it and they said yes. This has been a problem I have been trying to get resolved for the last four months of 2024. As soon as I arrived at the closest auto parts store that offered diagnostic readings (O'Reilys), I asked them to see what codes the vehicle was throwing. The codes were P0420 Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 1) and P1326 Knock Signal Range/Performance. I have seen these codes listed as recalls for other 2015 Kia Souls, but for some reason my VIN is not listed amongst those. So how do I get this repaired?? Usually when the truck is turned off for a short while and then turned back on the problem will fix itself, but only for a few minutes or hours and the problem reoccurs. Last week I took the truck to a GM dealer and had the steering angle sensor recalibrated..which fixed the problem for 1 month. Now it is failing again! My wife is afraid and refuses to drive the truck because if this happens again while she is driving she isn't strong enough to turn the wheel..particularly from a complete stopped position.
