The car is not shifting properly and will "jump" or "lunge" forward while driving. I have noticed that the RPM's will jump and bounce around, seemingly down shifting, then shift again, and then down shift again, which causes jerking motion.

multiple times this has been an issue. I stepped on the break and the car essentially leaps forward typically when going up down or straight. In November 2024 it happened while going up a hill slowly and I bumped into the vehicle ahead of me. My vehicle had no damage, but the car in front of me had to get a new skid plate and my insurance doubled because of it. Since the incident in November 2024,
... my car has unintentionally accelerated intermittently. finally, April 2025 this happened my car started shaking jolted forward, engine revving, and then my check engine light came on then immediately contacted my local dealership and scheduled an appointment to get my car in. They have had my vehicle since then and have said it is not safe to give it back to me so I am currently driving a loaner vehicle.Read more

The Ford F150 has suddenly downshifted at highway speed and gone into limp mode. A maintance light shows momentarlly. I am working with local Ford dealerships to have the issue addressed. They suggest that it may be addressed under a field campaign that has expired. The sudden downshift and limp mode is a safety issue in traffic. The problem happens then goes away.

In February of 2025 I was driving on the highway and my car stopped accelerating and the “ASC system required” light turned on. The RPM stayed at 4,000-5,000 and my car dropped from 60MPH to 20MPH. I had to drive on the side of the highway 20 minutes home like this. I took the car into a shop and they said the exhaust and catalytic converter was clogged and replaced it. It ran okay after that
... for about 3 weeks and then the same thing started to happen again. I have had to pull onto the side of the highway about 10-15 times as of writing this to restart my car/drive home going 20-30MPH. I brought it to the Mitsubishi dealership last week and they said I will need a whole new exhaust manifold, muffler, and catalytic converter due to it “being clogged” and quoted me just over 6,000 for it to be fixed even though I just replaced all of this in February. They did not give me an explanation as to why this is happening or explaining what is causing the “ASC system service required” light to go off.Read more

I have a manual transmission and can usually go up a steep hill by my house in 3rd gear. But on this occasion in 2nd gear I was unable to maintain speed even with the gas pedal all the way to the floor. It was also having trouble maintaining speed on less steep highway hills. The dealer replaced the alternator which helped, but I feel this puts my safety and others at risk because I was going much

I’m reporting a recurring safety issue with my Infiniti Q50 involving the brake, steering, and acceleration systems. While driving, I’ve experienced the brake pedal becoming unresponsive, the gas pedal not reacting, and the steering wheel locking or feeling stiff, making it extremely difficult to control the car. The most recent incident occurred today, [XXX]. I had to stop driving immediatel
... y and had the car towed to an Infiniti dealership, where a full systems check was performed. However, since the issue didn’t replicate while there, the dealer said they could not determine the cause. The car is available for inspection if needed. The safety risk is severe: I could not stop or accelerate safely, and I struggled to steer — this put me and other drivers in danger of a serious accident. I have experienced this more than once. The dealership originally diagnosed worn brake pads, which I had replaced at an independent shop, but the problem continued afterward. I also showed the dealership photos of the warning symbol that appeared on my dash during both incidents. The car has been inspected by the Infiniti dealer and an independent mechanic, but no resolution has been found. No inspections have been done by police or insurance. Given the serious nature of this malfunction, I am requesting this be investigated as a possible safety defect. I was driving on the freeway at 65mph and experienced a sudden loss of power. I depressed the gas pedal but the car would not accelerate past 45 mph. I had to drive all the way home with my hazard lights on. There were no lights on the dashboard to signify a problem. This happened several times. I took it into the Hyundai Service center and they could not replicate the problem. It happened again.
... and again. and again. finally got an error "possible condition with your engine control module". Took it into the dealer and after they drove it around for hundreds of miles they said they were able to recreate the problem, pulls some codes and relaced the fuel injection pump. It happened again. and again. and again. I took it back to the Hyundai Service center. They could not re-create the issue. They told me to use Chevron gas only and added an additive to the car. It worked for a while. Then it happened again. And again. I took it to a different Hyundai Service Center. They were not able to re-create the problem. Apparently, every time I drive the car, after 5-10 minutes on the street roads, the car fails to accelerate and I have to pull over, stop the car, and then re-start it. Re-starting it seems to clear the issue. I am driving in SMART mode and my car is at 39000 miles. Every time I take it to the service center, they can not re-create the issue. This is outrageous. Do I need to get into a car accident in order to bring legal action to Hyundai for not fixing this loss of power/failure to accelerate issue? Worst part is, the first Hyundai service center went out of business and I can not get any of the maintenance records for the fuel pump replacement.Read more

My 2022 Kia EV6 has repeatedly shut off while parked and while in motion, placing myself, my [XXX] child, and other drivers at serious risk. The vehicle’s Integrated Charging Control Unit (ICCU) failed and was replaced, but the replacement ICCU also malfunctioned. This second failure caused a near-collision involving three vehicles. A Ford F-150 had to swerve off the road to avoid hitting me.
... The most recent incident occurred while dropping off my son, when the vehicle lost all power in traffic. Kia later confirmed that they could not guarantee this issue would not happen again. This statement came after I notified them of the near-accident and the ongoing shutdowns. Despite this, Kia has refused to buy back the vehicle or provide a safe resolution. The vehicle has been out of service for over 30 cumulative days and has undergone two ICCU replacements and one 12V battery replacement. Kia issued a recall notice for the ICCU in December 2024, but the issue persisted even after recall servicing. The defect has been inspected and confirmed by Kia dealerships, and all repair documentation is available. There were no warning lights or alerts before shutdowns. The system fails randomly and without warning, making the car unpredictable and unsafe to operate. This is an ongoing, unresolved issue that poses a danger to myself, my child, and the general public. My ABS and Traction Control lights keep going off, intermittently. They have been doing it for several years. It can be for hours or for days. I took a video of it happening a couple years ago, and photos, also. More recently my speedometer has started jumping. I had the ABS recall performed when it was first implemented. When I've taken my vehicle to Hyundai (twice now specifically for this) they
... say they can see no codes and will do nothing. From what I have read on the ABS recall, this is what are the symptoms of it. I am under the impression that I have somehow gotten a defective part, even when they did the recall. The recall was that it could cause an engine fire. Today driving home, for a second, downhill, the oil light came on for a second-then went off. I came home and parked. My husband checked. He said there is no oil in the car. That, I imagine is part of the other engine issue this model has. But you would think the oil light would come on sooner and STAY on. He is going to get some oil and then take it to a shop when he gets off work. My main concern is getting the ABS/speedometer fixed as I believe it is from the first recall. The second issue-that is probably a Hyundai "recognized" issue. They just keep telling me nothing is wrong with the ABS/speedometer though. I have photos spanning several year, it falls in line with the recalled issue. Just replace the part already. The last date I went to Hyundai was Monday last week, so I'll put that as the incident date, as I was there for the ABS/speedometer. I had to drive an hour each way to see them twice now to be told they can't do anything. Today the oil light came on.Read more

I braked, but the car continued to pick up speed. I pressed harder on the brake, feeling as though I was standing on it. The car did not stop nor slow down. While feeling as though I was standing on the brake the car sped up I would estimate to 5-7 mph. I traveled straight back across the drive lane and continued to back into the parking spot behind me and hit the bumper in that parking causing damage to my lift gate and miscellaneous electrical components and the rear bumper. I have a repair estimate for $3400.00. I reported to the store personnel, the local police, and was examined by emergency medical. It was determined there was no damage to store property and medical personnel found my blood pressure was mildly elevated and the I felt slightly disoriented, but otherwise tested normal. I can only surmise that this was a temporary software malfunction. Braking has returned to normal. I talked to a ford dealer's Rep and he did not know what could have caused it. He also advised I could have diagnostics started for $278.00. I could not afford it at that time. Please note that the police officer said i could pick up the police report, but i have not done so. We leased a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe in June 2023, and since that time the vehicle has been a chronic source of mechanical and electrical failure. Over the past two years, it has been in for service 11 times, spending more than 115 total days in the shop, with at least 9 repeat issues—largely related to high-voltage interference and hybrid system instability, from our research. The problems
... began before we ever took possession, with a service record at just 12 miles on the odometer showing a repair to the Integrated Dual Charging Module (1890169A). Since then, we've experienced a cascade of issues affecting sensors, control modules, cameras, switches, and critical vehicle systems—many of which appear to stem from electromagnetic interference (EMI) related to the hybrid platform. Key repairs have included: Park Assist and ADAS control modules (09/28/23) Reprogramming of multiple modules (backup camera, backup sensors) (01/25/24) Backup view camera replacement (02/16/24) Fuel system pump and lighting issues (04/05/24) High-voltage recall 95B, battery coolant pump, wiring harness, battery fire risk & issue (01/30–04/01/25) The final straw came on 05/09/2025, when—while driving 70 mph on the freeway—the vehicle suddenly shut off without warning. We lost all acceleration and power, forcing us to drift to the shoulder in traffic. It took multiple restart attempts and a wait period before the vehicle became responsive again. This was not only terrifying—it was dangerous. The next day, the Jeep dealer where the vehicle was purchased, picked up our car, and we’ve received no update on its status. It is currently undrivable, and we fear it’s unsafe. We previously filed for arbitration for with NCDS (March 2023), which was denied. The situation has deteriorated significantly since then, and we are now filing a second arbitration, alongside this formal NHTSA safety complaint. Certified letters sent to the manufacturer earlier this year have gone unanswered.Read more

Incident date: Mar 15, 2025
The vehicle has experienced ongoing failures with the DPS6 PowerShift transmission system. Symptoms included slipping between gears, failure to engage 6th gear, jerky shifting, and bucking during acceleration. A transmission warning light appeared multiple times. These issues occurred daily and worsened over time. Eventually, the vehicle became unsafe to drive—it would over-rev, buck violently,
... and lose power during traffic conditions. A retired Ford Senior Master Technician confirmed the issue is consistent with a faulty Transmission Control Module (TCM), which is covered under Ford’s Customer Satisfaction Program (CSP) 14M02. Despite this, the dealership refused to replace the TCM. Instead, they replaced a speed sensor and returned it to me. The vehicle broke down again within minutes and had to be returned. The dealership has now suggested dropping the transmission for further inspection at a cost of $2,500, rather than honoring CSP 14M02. They also encouraged me to trade in the vehicle instead of repairing it. The TCM failure has not been resolved, and the vehicle remains unsafe to drive.Read more

Major transmission failure that causes sudden unintended downshift to first gear, even at high speeds. This occurs often and randomly without warning, causing the engine to "redline", rear tires to slide and the vehicle to come to a near sudden stop. This is an extreme safety concern, especially in slippery road conditions as the vehicle could overturn or slide off the road or at a minimum be re
... ar-ended for suddenly stopping unexpectedly on a freeway. This is a widely known problem by Ford. The local Ford service manager admitted that his 2013 F150 has the same issue and he continues to drive it because he tried fixing it by replacing the Molded Lead Plate in the transmission and that didn't resolve the problem. Remember, I noted this is a Ford Service Manager! Ford has issued a recall (24S37); however, the prescribed solution is to have the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) software updated and that prescribed fix actually makes the sudden downshifting happen more often. This is the cheapest, band-aid solution that Ford hides behind so they can say that they are addressing this issue. A second Ford dealership down the road actually admitted that they have identified that the recommended software update actually makes the problem worse and they practically refuses to perform the software update for their customers. After several discussions with Ford's Recall Assistance Team and several discussions with a local dealership's service manager, Ford is not willing to do anything more, despite this major safety issue not only not getting resolved, but actually has gotten worse due to their band-aid approach of a software update. In my case, if further diagnosis is to be performed, I have to be the one that covers that cost and also I would be the one to cover the cost of repairs. To me, this is completely unacceptable. The rational that Ford uses to deny accountability is that the vehicle's computer doesn't register any DTC codes when the incident occurs.Read more

Hi! This vehicle stopped twice in the middle of a road on its own. Vehicle was driving fine and the next second it slowed down and wouldn’t accelerate as I would push the gas pedal. It’s as if the engine shut down due to the car signals not transmitting correctly. The screen started blinking on and off giving me warnings and one of them said “Service Shifter!” My safety and my children’s
... safety was put at risk because anyone could’ve hit us from behind as the car started decelerating on the road with oncoming traffic. I towed the car to a mechanic as the car does not run properly while being driven, and the mechanic said it has multiple electrical issues and multiple leaks. The vehicle was inspected by my own mechanic, as the dealer also inspected it and they tried to connect the scanner to turn off the engine light and get me to drive off. They have refused help and I truly believe they knew this car was a safety hazard. After leaving the dealer, 4 minutes into driving the car started slowing down and I was able to make it into the parking lot, but got stranded in the middle of the street where opposite traffic comes into. I bought the car 03/01/2025. The check engine light turned on 2 weeks in. The battery seemed to be drained 2 weeks in but it did not need cables or recharge, it’s as if the battery loses connection. Then at the one month mark it started having those issues, no warning until it completely stopped on the road. When it stopped on the road, that’s when the screen started going off with multiple warnings.Read more

For 1.5+ years, the transmission will unexpectedly and suddenly downshift into 1st gear without warning. Which causes a sudden deceleration. No warning lights before it happens. It occurs randomly and at different speeds. It has happened over 20 times. I've experienced it happening at speed ranging from 35mph to 65mph. The gear shifter was in the drive position each time this issue occurred.
... The suv is the 2017 ford expedition EL with the 3.5L ecoboost engine with 6 speed automatic transmission. No check engine light before or after the issue (so no OBD2 code to read) a big yellow warning appears during/after saying "see manual". Sometimes the issue will resolve in a few seconds. The suv has not been to the dealership yet for this issue. But i will be contacting ford today.Read more

To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to express my deep frustration and serious concerns regarding the repeated and dangerous failures I have experienced with the battery systems in three separate Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles – model years 2022, 2024, and now 2025 4xe. In each case, I encountered a complete battery failure within the first 3,000 miles of the car’s life. These failures have no
... t only rendered the vehicles completely inoperable but have completely shut down all functionality while driving, leaving me stranded on the road an outright dangerous design flaw with zero warning or alert of malfunction. At first, I considered the possibility of coincidence or simple bad luck. Now, it is evident this is a systemic and known issue that Stellantis/Jeep has failed to address. It is absolutely unacceptable that a brand-new Jeep product could exhibit such a fundamental reliability defect, and even more troubling that no proactive support or acknowledgment has been provided to affected consumers like myself. This is disgraceful, inexcusable, and beneath the standards expected of any automaker, let alone one that charges a premium for its products. This situation also raises serious questions about the strategic direction the company may have taken under their former CEO, Carlos Tavares, whose well-documented focus on near-term cost-cutting and margin improvements appears to be manifesting in subpar quality control and dangerous engineering compromises. I demand to know what Stellantis is prepared to do in response to the severe design flaw and associated safety risks with the new battery and electrical systems in their Jeep products.Read more
