Received safety recall notice 24S37/ NHTSA recall 24V444 for my 2014 F150. Recall appears to address a safety issue resulting in the pickup downshifting into 1st gear while driving. My pickup was doing this back in 2022. It sat at the dealer for 3 months because it was too dangerous to drive (or sell) and needed a new Lead Frame to correct the problem, but Ford was unable to supply this part.
... I ultimately had to take it to a transmission shop, where they installed an after market lead frame that fixed the problem at that time (for around $1200). At that time there was a recall for 2015 models and up, but not 2014 models. Recently my pickup began going into safe or limp mode while I was driving, with a big wrench icon appearing on the dash. My mechanic said the engine code indicated the transmission was not communicating with the engine, and that it appeared to be related to this recent recall. Dealership updated the PCM, but this did not fix the problem. Ultimately, had to get a new Lead Frame installed ($1400). Error codes P0721 and P0722 were found, which would seem to apply to the recall. Supposedly the dealership was told that the truck was too old (2014) and and the mileage was too high (102,000) to cover the repair (although, this is a fairly recent recall). Ford customer service told me that the recall only covered the update, not any repairs to fix the underlying problem. Ford will not reimburse me for any of these repairs, but they appear to be related to exactly what the recall was for. Curious what the NHTSA's opinion is. I believe that I put in a complaint with NHTSA for this issue when it first happened. Thanks for your time.Read more

... sk is not being able to smoothly accelerate into traffic and getting hit from behind because of the hesitation. When the vehicle does accelerate, it jerks forward suddenly and quickly, often losing grip from the rear tires. This causes a risk of losing control or veering into the oncoming lane. The problem has been reported and the mechanics worked with the field engineers to diagnose the issue. The field engineers reported that this is a known problem There were no warning lights or other indicators that any component is malfunctioning. The problem first appeared with under 2,000 miles on the odometer and has repeated intermittently. I have not yet been able to determine a series of events that trigger the issue. It did happen a few times when stopped slightly uphill, but that isn't the only time. It is not clear whether it is the accelerator, throttle, engine, transmission, computer, or data transmission causing the problem.Read more

I have notes, exact dates, times, call records, return voice mail messages, and dealership personnel spoken to, etc. The dealer’s lead technician and I were able to replicate the shutter on a road test together on 1/27/25 at 3 p.m. after having driven just 10 miles. During my visit on the morning of 1/30/25, the lead technician stated he has since been able to replicate the shutter seemingly getting worse. I was strongly encouraged by the service manager, service writer, and lead technician their collective “personal recommendation” was to not take the truck back. Timeline of Issues and Repairs: July 17, 2023: First experienced significant engine performance problems, particularly with the Auto Start feature malfunctioning, which led to the engine stalling while driving. Despite multiple tests, these issues persisted. Eventually, the engine was replaced, but I continued to experience jerking and misfiring after the replacement. October 2023 – January 2024: Despite having the engine replaced, the car began showing worsening jerking and misfiring, especially at higher speeds (60-65 mph or above). February 2024: During routine maintenance, I was informed that a catalytic converter needed replacement due to damage caused by the engine misfiring. I also learned that the starter motors were not replaced during the engine swap, despite it being common to get a tune up at about 80,000 and expecting thorough work after a engine replacement (Is that too much to ask) also being that I get ALL repairs and maintenance done here just for the service “ADVISOR’ to tell me you were been supposed to get a tune up, hysterical October 2024 – January 2025: The engine started losing power and struggling to rev, similar to before the new engine and catalytic converter replacement. After two weeks, I received a $3500 estimate for starters, coils, plugs, a coolant flush, and code P0128. After waiting for recall plans and assistance, I was informed that the technicians had added the two coils and plugs they initially had on the $3500 estimate and said after test driving it w/ those, they see that a new transmission is needed for $7500.Read more

Vehicle was brought to the dealership on at least 4 or 5 times with this complaint - from 2020 through 2024...One time it was at dealership for almost 2 weeks Dealership would never fully admit to the issue - often times one service person, through test driving would notice the issue, only to then be told it was "normal driving" of this vehicle. On a regular basis, car would stop (pause) "in the face of oncoming traffic - my heart would skip a beat, only for the car to then resume accelerating On many occasions, I discussed with service team - always to be told that there were no known issues Fast forward to 2024 - when Acura notified me of a Recall regarding the Fuel Pump....I quickly scheduled an appointment, brought the car in this past week and had the Recall done. Speaking with the Serviceperson when checking the car in, I brought up the past issues that I have had and asked if this Recall was the likely reason.....the service person - without hesitation said "absolutely"......I then asked him, so was "Acura lying to me ll these past visits".....his response was "sounds like it to me" Since getting the car back - the hesitation has stopped. I have paperwork from all my previous visits - with responses from their technicians I am certain there was consumer fraud conducted by the dealership I bought and serviced this vehicle from (Open Road Acura - Wayne NJ). The contact stated while at a complete stop, the failure recurred, causing the vehicle to hit the rear driver's side end cap of another vehicle that was making a left turn. The air bags did not deploy. No police report was filed. The bumper of the contact's vehicle was damaged. The contact sustained soreness on the back but did not seek medical assistance. The dealerships will not do any repairs or bypass the control system and their only solution is an expensive engine replacement. 1. The Kia displays error code P1326 which is the subject of numerous complaints to dealers throughout the U.S. The problem is the KIA goes into limp mode with no remedy. Available for inspection. The 2023 Jeep Wrangler has been inspected by two different dealerships 6-7 times, and I have submitted four cases through Jeep Wave, including a request for a buyback. While driving on the highway or on city streets, the vehicle experiences a speed reduction to 5-10 miles per hour, with a stiff steering wheel and hard brakes. Warning messages appear, including: "Engine Light," "Service Transmissio
... n. Continue in D. Do Not Shift or Turn Off Engine Until You Reach a Desired Location. You May Not Be Able to Shift Again Until Serviced," and "Brake is Not On," even when the vehicle is in park. The vehicle has malfunctioned twice on the highway while driving at 65-70 miles per hour and several times during heavy traffic at 5 PM. This raises significant safety concerns, especially on the highway, where a malfunction could pose a danger to others on the road. Although the issue cannot be replicated by the dealership, error codes appear when the vehicle is taken in for inspection. Ultimately, I am told that the issue is related to the "grounding." One dealership had the vehicle for 24 days. I picked it up on a Saturday at 10:30 AM, but by Sunday at 10 AM, the vehicle's speed had again decreased, the brakes were stiff, and the steering wheel was locked. The vehicle is available for inspection, and my buyback request has been denied three times. The vehicle is currently at the dealership once again, and I am genuinely concerned about the safety of my children and family members when I'm driving. While driving my ram truck, a notice goes across the cluster center saying to shift vehicle to park. No other lights go on like check engine lights etc. But the truck goes to a complete stop and makes you shift in to park then back in to drive this is dangerous because it happens to me while I am driving to include one time coming off the off ramp on the freeway possibly making someone rear end me

The contact stated that there was a passenger in the front passenger's side seat at the time the incident occurred. The contact stated that the mason who provided an estimate of the brick wall damage and repair stated that the brick wall was severely damaged as if the vehicle that crashed into it was going at a high rate of speed. There was no injury sustained. No police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to an auto collision repair shop to be repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a case was filed. ... rate of speed, I turned the wheel, my car hit 3 cars across the parking lot, shot across the parking lot, popped over that curb, went down an extremely steep hill, hit the cross street, went still in reverse over an island, wiped out two signs and crashed into a car in the middle of the 4 way stop and stopped. My insurance is blaming it on driver error like they are blaming thousands of drivers over the same experience, stating that I mistook the gas pedal instead of the brake and also stating that I did not attempt to brake, that is so far from the truth, you can look at the track marks on the ground and tell I was standing on the brake. What is being done about these awful scenerios. My car is currently in copart being assessed. My car was serviced at the hyundai dealership ever since I purchased it, all the records are there and in my possession, I had low mileage, less than 48,000 miles and planned on holding onto the vehicle for at least 6 more years. Now my car is sabotaged, being blamed like 1,000 of other drivers over the car malfunctioning. There is a sensor for the Throttle, a sensor for the Gas Accelerator that the Computer Control Unit brain waits for the analytical data from both sensors and adds additional throttle to the situation. Once the car is turned off the entire system resets itself, so there is no evidence of high throttle, gas accelerators sticking and the driver is blamed. Since the insurance companies have insured these vehicles there is a lot at stake for these cases to be proven and for the Hyundai manufacturer as well.
