The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where the transmission valve, six seals, bolts, and unknown parts were replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the contact stated that she did not feel safe driving the vehicle. The contact was in the process of trading in the vehicle. While on the same incline as incident #1, after removing my foot from the accelerator, the vehicle continued to accelerate, even during braking. Total time was approximately 2 sec. There was no damage to the vehicle, and no physical injury. I checked, and the floor mat was locked in place. Both incidents were reported to Volvo, and permission was given to extract data from the vehicle. The data was extracted at a Volvo service center. Unexpected Acceleration Incident #3 (after data extraction, before Volvo report). While turning right and into a parking space in front of a sidewalk and coming to a stop on an uphill incline, the vehicle quickly moved forward approximately 2 ft after my foot was removed from the brake. I was able to brake again to regain control and put the car in park. Unexpected Acceleration Incident #4 (after data extraction, before Volvo report). While traveling on an uphill incline, after removing my foot from the accelerator, the engine remained at a high enough RPM to sustain forward motion. Even after full-stop braking, the vehicle would move forward on its own, on an uphill incline, without depressing the accelerator. I was able to drive to the dealer where they ran a diagnostic and could not replicate the problem. They only stated it was a loss of communication in the computer but that "it would probably not happen again." They did nothing to identify what could have caused the loss in communication and said if it happened again, to bring the car back. This results in catastrophic and simultaneous system failures, including brake loss, airbag failure, and disabled traction control—posing an extreme and imminent safety risk. SUMMARY OF EVENTS: While driving at speed, I received a “BRAKE FAILURE / PLEASE

This led to a sudden and dangerous loss of braking power and airbag system failure, forcing me to pull over in an emergency maneuver. Diagnostics confirmed that water leaked into the car’s critical electronic systems via the sunroof. Like other manufacturers, Volvo sunroofs degrade over time and require drainage. However, Volvo’s design is fatally flawed—clogged drains lead to direct water ingress into the electronics, causing total vehicle system failure while in motion. No warning is provided before catastrophic failure occurs. This is not an isolated case. An identical failure occurred in our second Volvo (2020 V90 Cross Country), owned and operated in California. This proves a systematic design defect—the same critical safety failure occurred in two separate vehicles, in different environments, under identical circumstances. I am deeply alarmed by Volvo’s negligent sunroof drainage design, which puts drivers and the public at severe risk of fatal system failures. I am reporting this to NHTSA because I believe this fundamental design flaw in Volvo sunroofs endangers lives and demands urgent regulatory action. On the morning of February 3rd, 2025, while driving, I heard a pop. A few seconds later, as I approached an intersection, a yellow warning appeared that instructed me to "Check the Electric Vehicle System". It minimized to a small caution light. I attempted to continue driving, pulling through the intersection; however, the vehicle had an abrupt loss of power; I was unable to proceed over 20-25 mp
... h. In total no more than 2-3 mins passed from hearing the pop to loss of power. I pulled into a neighborhood, stopped the car, and consulted the owner's manual for direction on the warning light. While parked, and an estimated 8-10 minutes after hearing the first pop, I received a second warning, this time in red. It said "Turn power off immediately. Check power supply." I turned car off/contacted roadside, as advised in my manual, for a tow. After review at the dealership, I was originally told I needed a new 12V that it had died while I was driving. I authorized the replacement, though I also indicated to the service department that if that CAN happen, it really does not make sense AND there should be a different warning indicator for a failed 12v that could be replaced roadside versus instructing for a tow.However, after replacing my 12v the service advisor indicated that the car pulled codes and that the ICCU and its fuse seemed to have failed, which likely caused the damage to the 12v battery. After a few days of testing, my car was cleared for replacement of the failed ICCU by Hyundai's techline on February 10th. The dealer then provided a vehicle for my use while I await repairs. I was told a part could arrive the 18th or the 25th and the repair could take 3-4 days once the parts are received. It is still in shop with no updates. On 2/13/25 I filed a complaint to Hyundai; I have not received a response to date. All recalls for these issues had been performed on my vehicle in November 2024; we can no longer, in good conscience, use this vehicle. It is unsafe.Read more

The only symptom at first was rough shifting. Transmission no longer knows what gear to be in. For example it will move to tenth at 25mph or drop to first gear at 50mph. Adaptive learning computer has been reset multiple times. A warning light started coming on intermittently ("wrench" symbol) after changing fluid. Car would not accelerate past 30 or 31 MPH no matter how hard gas pedal was engaged. The RPMs increase, acknowledging the gas, but the speed stays the same. CRUISE CONTROL SURGING VEHICLE BEYOND INITIAL SET LIMIT. I recently purchased my 2022 Nissan frontier 4x4 crewcab from a Texas dealership. After driving it for a week or so, I noticed that while the "Cruise Control" is engaged, any sort of incline ahead of the vehicle will cause the transmission to down shift and Rev up the engine to 5k+ rpms which causes the vehicle to Surge and speed up way
... above the set speed (ie: cruise set to 45mph, the consequence is the vehicle will surge up to 60mph at times and then let the vehicle slow back down to the 45mph speed set in the original setting.) I found that very unsafe and that my nissan frontier is not the only one that experiences this behavior. The internet has had a few reports/complaints on this very issue. According to some of these owners, there's a software update to address this issues. However, some dealerships will charge for this software update if your vehicle has gone past the 36k warranty date to the sum of $600 plus out of pocket.
