On [XXX], I was slowly pulling into my driveway, took my foot off the accelerator and turned the steering wheel slightly to the right as the driveway is L shaped. The hood and front bumper were badly caved in at the point of impact and pieces of the undercarriage were on the ground. The air smelled like rubber and there were tire marks on the driveway here I had slammed on the brakes. The airbags did not deploy. The Automatic Braking System did not work. There were no warning messages or lamps. The only unusual symptom that I noticed was that on my way home from Kona, when I was pulling up slowly to a traffic light, the car seemed to hesitate a couple of times, which seemed odd but not severe enough for me to be concerned about a wreck. That occurred about a half hour before the incident. I was not physically injured but I have been very shook up and depressed since the incident. If this had happened on the highway, I could have been killed and the car could have killed others on the road. I reported the collision to USAA immediately and, on their advice, I had it towed to Kona Nissan, the dealership where I purchased the vehicle and where I have had it serviced. The expectation was that they would perform diagnostics on the vehicle but they won’t touch it, nor will they talk to USAA. I had taken the car in when it was recalled for the VCM issues and I don’t believe it was fixed properly. Or the repair wasn’t effective. The car is at Gerber Body Shop in Kona, Hawaii. I brought it to the Mitsubishi dealership last week and they said I will need a whole new exhaust manifold, muffler, and catalytic converter due to it “being clogged” and quoted me just over 6,000 for it to be fixed even though I just replaced all of this in February. However, since the issue didn’t replicate while there, the dealer said they could not determine the cause. The car is available for inspection if needed. The safety risk is severe: I could not stop or accelerate safely, and I struggled to steer — this put me and other drivers in danger of a serious accident. I have experienced this more than once. The dealership originally diagnosed worn brake pads, which I had replaced at an independent shop, but the problem continued afterward. I also showed the dealership photos of the warning symbol that appeared on my dash during both incidents. The car has been inspected by the Infiniti dealer and an independent mechanic, but no resolution has been found. No inspections have been done by police or insurance. I was driving on the freeway at 65mph and experienced a sudden loss of power. I depressed the gas pedal but the car would not accelerate past 45 mph. I had to drive all the way home with my hazard lights on. There were no lights on the dashboard to signify a problem. This happened several times. I took it into the Hyundai Service center and they could not replicate the problem. It happened again.
... and again. and again. finally got an error "possible condition with your engine control module". Took it into the dealer and after they drove it around for hundreds of miles they said they were able to recreate the problem, pulls some codes and relaced the fuel injection pump. It happened again. and again. and again. I took it back to the Hyundai Service center. They could not re-create the issue. They told me to use Chevron gas only and added an additive to the car. It worked for a while. Then it happened again. And again. I took it to a different Hyundai Service Center. They were not able to re-create the problem. Apparently, every time I drive the car, after 5-10 minutes on the street roads, the car fails to accelerate and I have to pull over, stop the car, and then re-start it. Re-starting it seems to clear the issue. I am driving in SMART mode and my car is at 39000 miles. Every time I take it to the service center, they can not re-create the issue. This is outrageous. Do I need to get into a car accident in order to bring legal action to Hyundai for not fixing this loss of power/failure to accelerate issue? Worst part is, the first Hyundai service center went out of business and I can not get any of the maintenance records for the fuel pump replacement.Read more

My 2022 Kia EV6 has repeatedly shut off while parked and while in motion, placing myself, my [XXX] child, and other drivers at serious risk. The vehicle’s Integrated Charging Control Unit (ICCU) failed and was replaced, but the replacement ICCU also malfunctioned. This second failure caused a near-collision involving three vehicles. A Ford F-150 had to swerve off the road to avoid hitting me.
... The most recent incident occurred while dropping off my son, when the vehicle lost all power in traffic. Kia later confirmed that they could not guarantee this issue would not happen again. This statement came after I notified them of the near-accident and the ongoing shutdowns. Despite this, Kia has refused to buy back the vehicle or provide a safe resolution. The vehicle has been out of service for over 30 cumulative days and has undergone two ICCU replacements and one 12V battery replacement. Kia issued a recall notice for the ICCU in December 2024, but the issue persisted even after recall servicing. The defect has been inspected and confirmed by Kia dealerships, and all repair documentation is available. There were no warning lights or alerts before shutdowns. The system fails randomly and without warning, making the car unpredictable and unsafe to operate. The contact stated that on one occasion, while her daughter was driving 60 MPH, the transmission started slipping and the vehicle failed to accelerate above 60 MPH. I am under the impression that I have somehow gotten a defective part, even when they did the recall. The recall was that it could cause an engine fire. Today driving home, for a second, downhill, the oil light came on for a second-then went off. I came home and parked. My husband checked. He said there is no oil in the car. That, I imagine is part of the other engine issue this model has. But you would think the oil light would come on sooner and STAY on. He is going to get some oil and then take it to a shop when he gets off work. My main concern is getting the ABS/speedometer fixed as I believe it is from the first recall. The second issue-that is probably a Hyundai "recognized" issue. They just keep telling me nothing is wrong with the ABS/speedometer though. I have photos spanning several year, it falls in line with the recalled issue. Just replace the part already. The last date I went to Hyundai was Monday last week, so I'll put that as the incident date, as I was there for the ABS/speedometer. While parking in a parking lot of a local store I pulled into a spot and stopped about 2 feet from a bumper post. I removed my foot from the brake pedal to pull closer to the post. ... tting the post I was stopped. I put the car in reverse and took my foot off the brake. The vehicle did not moved so i touched the gas intending to back up a foot or so. The car picked up speed. I braked, but the car continued to pick up speed. I pressed harder on the brake, feeling as though I was standing on it. The car did not stop nor slow down. While feeling as though I was standing on the brake the car sped up I would estimate to 5-7 mph. I traveled straight back across the drive lane and continued to back into the parking spot behind me and hit the bumper in that parking causing damage to my lift gate and miscellaneous electrical components and the rear bumper. I have a repair estimate for $3400.00. I reported to the store personnel, the local police, and was examined by emergency medical. It was determined there was no damage to store property and medical personnel found my blood pressure was mildly elevated and the I felt slightly disoriented, but otherwise tested normal. I can only surmise that this was a temporary software malfunction. Braking has returned to normal. I talked to a ford dealer's Rep and he did not know what could have caused it. He also advised I could have diagnostics started for $278.00. I could not afford it at that time. Please note that the police officer said i could pick up the police report, but i have not done so. All warning lamps lit ABS failure, power steering stopped, service antilock breaks, service electronic stability control, auto park disabled and service shift warnings started popping up. Despite applying the brakes, the car did not stop and continued through the intersection, striking the door of another vehicle. May 12, 2025 – Today, while using cruise control set to 55 mph, the car began accelerating beyond the set speed without input. It appears the cruise control system is malfunctioning and not disengaging as expected. The vehicle currently shows no open recalls, but I found that similar issues were previously investigated under NHTSA action DP21003 for this model year. These incidents occurred months apart, but the behavior is consistent and extremely dangerous. I am requesting a formal investigation.
