Vehicle started and behaved as expected when leaving my home and for a dozen lights or so between my home and place of the incident. While stopped at a red light, the auto stop function shut the truck down as normal. On re-start when getting green light, after releasing brake pressure, the start up was belabored for two turnovers before starting up. As I pulled off the stop with a green light, the
... dash lights illuminated and display started rolling through system failures, one of which was the brakes system and ESC. I cautiously proceeded through my turn to a thankfully quiet intersection as the brakes were completely unresponsive. I had ZERO brake function. I was able to slowly come to a rolling stop enough to get the truck in park where I turned it off and back on and the brake function returned. I cautiously drove to the local chevy dealer where I was informed that the battery drain pulls from low voltage when it needs extra power for start up. This is utterly terrifying that it is even possible for the battery to start the truck WITHOUT ANY BRAKE FUNCTION. Had this happened just two lights before or after where I was, it would have been a news headline. I could have easily been headed up and over a bridge leading to a catastrophic event at the bottom where I would have been completely unable to stop my truck by any means other than a collision. I would have preferred a dead battery at a red light. Seems a whole lot safer. I'm now stressed beyond measure at the thought of some failure in the future that could lead to another event such as this. My truck is now a nightmare wondering what electrical malfunction is going to put me and/or my wife and daughter in a life or death situation, let alone others on the road. This shouldn't even be an option for the truck to start at the expense of a critical safety function. Not to mention there is no function for the auto start stop system to be deactivated permanently by my choice. I am beside myself and scared to drive.Read more

When the vehicle is in one pedal mode, and the car drive is switched to reverse, the car moves backwards and does not slow down contrary to one pedal mode which does not move unless the accelerator is depressed and will slow down when in forward drive. Lincoln Navigation has incorrect speed limit detection/programming on rural roads in Fulton County Ohio. When using the Adaptive Cruise, firstly the Speed Limit icon that is stationary on the dash, right in front of the driver, has incorrect speed limits. The speed limits icon also randomly goes from the incorrect speed of 45mpg, suddenly for no environmental reason, drops to 25 mph, then afte
... r a distance, goes back up to 45 mpg. The speed limits on all rural roads, other than municipalities, is 55 mph. While using the Adaptive Cruise, if someone is behind me, doing 55 mph that I've set my cruise to, and SUDDENLY I drop my speed to 25 or even 45 mph, there could most likely be a rear end collision. I have been in contact with Lincoln dealerships, Lincoln Concierge, Lincoln Way, Lincoln Over the Air... I just get passed around from department to department, having me reset my screens, but no knows how to fix. I've spent numerous hours on the phone. No one calls me back like they say they will. I've repeated this issue so many times to so many different people and departments, it's been extremely frustrating. If they could get me to someone that programs the navigation that Lincoln follows to re-programs those incorrect roads, all would be fixed. I believe Lincoln has it's own system because Google Maps and Waze are displaying the correct speeds at the exact locations.Read more

Let me start by stating that this incident is just one of many occurrences that has happened to me with this vehicle. I was driving down a straight highway that was pretty heavily congested with traffic of other vehicles, when all of a sudden I felt a loss of power with the vehicle and some error codes came up on the dashboard indicating the engine needed to be serviced, start & stop was unavailab
... le, and to service electronic throttle control. I also noticed that the vehicle driving mode had switched by itself from Dynamic to Natural mode. After a few short seconds, I felt the RPMs drop completely to zero and I felt a loss of the power steering as well because the engine had shut down completely in the middle of highway traffic. As I was driving on the left lane of a two lane highway, I had to immediately pull over to the right side shoulder, nearly being hit by vehicles behind me as the Alfa Romeo Giulia stalled and immediately cut my speed. I was parked on the right shoulder of the highway with my hazard lights on and put the vehicle into Park. When I tried to restart the engine, it just cranked over for a long time before finally turning on. The same error codes popped up on the dashboard indicating the problem was still there. I tried to continue driving down the highway but the engine kept on shutting itself off and the issue persisted. Eventually I had to call a local friend who has a trailer to help me tow my vehicle back home. The vehicle, when scanned, released the code P008A which indicates a low pressure fuel system error. I have read that this issue is currently being investigated by the NHTSA and would like to clarify and state that this is indeed a very dangerous safety issue and it should be dealt with accordingly.Read more

The digital instrument cluster (Electronic Vehicle Information Center – EVIC) on my 2020 Jeep Wrangler has failed, and no longer displays critical vehicle information. This includes fuel level, engine and oil temperature, mileage, tire pressure, and other key dashboard data. This failure creates an unsafe driving condition due to the inability to monitor vehicle speed, engine status, or fuel ava
... ilability. I brought the vehicle to the dealer, and they confirmed the cluster is nonfunctional, but also stated that my VIN is not covered under the existing recall. After extensive research, I discovered hundreds of reports from other Wrangler owners experiencing the same failure in 2018–2021 models, yet Jeep has only issued limited recall coverage, seemingly based on build date rather than known defective components. To make matters worse, no replacement parts are available, either through the dealership or third-party suppliers. I am now left without a fully functioning vehicle and no support or resolution from Jeep or its dealers. This is a widespread and well-documented issue that affects driver safety and should be subject to expanded recall or mandated remedy. I urge NHTSA to investigate why so many similar failures are not covered under existing recalls.Read more

Date: [XXX] Subject: Immediate Safety Concern – 2021 Jeep Wrangler Sahara 4xe – Acceleration Failure Dear Jeep Customer Care, I am the owner of a 2021 Jeep Wrangler Sahara 4xe, VIN [XXX] , with approximately 50,000 miles. I am writing to report a critical and potentially fatal safety defect that occurred multiple times on [XXX], most notably at the intersection of [XXX] and [XXX] in Oregon.
... On multiple occasions, when attempting to accelerate from a full stop into an intersection with cross traffic traveling at 55 mph or more, the vehicle failed to respond to throttle input. Instead of accelerating, the Jeep simply rolled slowly into the intersection despite my foot fully depressing the accelerator pedal. This placed me at immediate risk of being struck broadside by oncoming vehicles at high speed, which could have resulted in catastrophic injury or death. The check engine light was on since [XXX] and my husband drove the Jeep to Lithia Chrysler Dodge of Bend (Oregon) on June 4th, 2025, 12 pm. They ran a computer test and told my husband that there was a recall on the battery but that we could still drive the car, and it was safe but not to charge the car (we followed instructions). We couldn’t even secure a vehicle appointment until July 2nd, 2025. How do you not prioritize a potentially critical situation? This defect is entirely unacceptable and renders the vehicle unsafe for operation. I will not drive the vehicle further due to the danger involved. Given the severity of this defect, I request: •Immediate investigation by Jeep/FCA engineering and technical teams. •Safe transport (towing) of the vehicle to an authorized service center at Jeep’s expense. •Full documentation of the inspection, diagnosis, and resolution of this issue. •Confirmation of whether this issue has been reported in other 4xe vehicles or constitutes part of a larger safety defect investigation. The right rear axle shaft assembly wheel bearing seal failed. The right rear ABS Sensor, aka (rotational Speed Sensor, wheel speed sensor) failed. These parts are available for inspection. The vehicle unexpectedly accelerated without me pressing the accelerator as I approached a red light at an intersection, putting my safety and others at risk. I had to slam on the brakes with all my might to get
... the vehicle to stop from going through the intersection. The road was wet, and the front wheels locked while the rear wheels continued to be driven by the engine without any input from the accelerator pedal. Eventually, the vehicle stopped, and the engine acceleration went back to normal operation. The problem has not been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center. The vehicle and parts have been inspected by me, as the vehicle owner. The warning lamps suddenly illuminated on the instrument panel just prior to the incident. The warning lamps came on as I was approaching the intersection. The warning lamps that came on were the engine diagnostic indicator lamp aka Malfunction indicator lamp, the Anti-lock brake system warning light, the brake assist system warning light, the electronic stability program warning light. I also hear what sounded like the ABS Control Unit rapidly cycling just prior to the uncontrolled acceleration while nearing the intersection. I used diagnostic equipment and performed a visual inspection of the components, concluding that they needed replacement. Grease from the leaking right rear wheel bearing seal fouled the right rear wheel speed sensor. The wheel speed sensor cable develops cracks near the wheel hub. I believe these parts are defective and can cause erratic, uncontrollable, unsafe driving risks that could lead to accidents and injuries. The symptoms and warning indications went away after the parts were replaced. I still have these parts as I feel they should be inspected by NHTSA personnel to make a safety recall.Read more

I got a warning from my car a little over a week ago (around 6/1, unsure of exact date) that I needed to service the battery charging system, but then the check engine indicator light shut off and so did the warning light. The hybrid battery took a charge with no issues after that. Then, I left work the evening of 6/9 and drove home. On my way home, the check engine light came back on, followed
... by warnings that I needed to shift to park. Before I could pull over, my car stopped moving. Cars had to stop abruptly behind me and navigate around me into incoming traffic. I shifted to park, then tried to turn my car off and on again. I tried to switch between the gas engine and the battery, I tried to move my vehicle in any way. I couldn't get it into neutral to push it out of traffic. I turned on my hazard lights and a person came out from his house to assist in directing traffic away from my car for about an hour while I waited for a tow truck to arrive. The kind bystander who directed traffic and I were very concerned about a car accident happening due to my stopped vehicle. A police officer stopped by to check on us and try and get my vehicle into neutral but he was unable and said he was on his way to a 911 dispatch so he did not write a report of any kind that I could see. He told me the vehicle placement was not safe and I agreed with him. The tow truck came as he was leaving. In June 2022, the vehicle exhibited abnormal engine behavior, specifically fluctuating revolutions per minute (RPM), while at a complete stop, creating a risk of engine stall. Newport Beach Lexus dealership opted to replace the fuel injectors and gaskets as a corrective measure. Previous invoices also show that there were concerns related to fuel equipment prior to this incident. Subsequently, in
... December 2024, while traveling with my child on [XXX] near Barstow, California, the vehicle experienced severe shaking during an ascent, leading to a temporary loss of power while driving. I continued to drive after a brief respite due to the unsafe, remote location in the desert. Upon arrival in Las Vegas, the vehicle was inspected by a Lexus dealership, and they were unable to identify the issue at that time. In January 2025, the vehicle’s check engine light came on and further inspections at Lexus South County revealed that the vehicle was unsafe to operate without replacing the fuel pump. The dealership indicated that the vehicle would not be released unless this repair was completed and the fuel pump was replaced. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) identified a safety recall (NHTSA Campaign ID 20V682000) for these vehicles due to a defect in the low-pressure fuel pump. The defect could lead to engine stalling, increasing the risk of a crash. Affected vehicles were equipped with a fuel pump that may fail, causing the engine to stall while driving. Toyota and Lexus dealers were instructed to replace the fuel pump assembly with an improved one at no cost to the vehicle owner. These events suggest a potential failure to adequately address a known safety defect, leading to compromised vehicle performance and increased risk to occupants. Failure to add this vehicle to the recall list created an ongoing unsafe situation for my family and also compromised the health of the vehicles’ engine and other parts that rely on the fuel pump. Started vehicle and it lit up with every warning imaginable. Dealership said it's the Honda Sensing unit is defective. After reviewing online, it certainly seems everyone's unit is defective.. Now we were quoted 3k to fix safety related stuff. Can't afford to fix so now, just driving it until it crashes! Woohoo fun! And no recall!

Vehicle has a habit of losing speed, even on cruise control, when going more than 70 mph for extended times and dropping below 60 when doing so on Interstate with no warning lights or system notifications. The most recent occurence was on Saturday, June 7th when driving on the interstate and cruise control engaged at 73 mph when it cut off, dropped to just below 60 without warning and would not ac
... celerate back when pedal completely depressed and then AC system started blowing HOT air and compressor would not kick back on. First attempted to check freon and those levels are not the issue- air blows but blows hot without cooling at all. This did occur in sustained temps in the low to mid-90s.Read more

On 05/27/2025, my rear back-up camera started to malfunction. Last week my dash started to malfunction electronically. When I would start my vehicle, all of the lights would start to turn on and stay on on my dash. My speedometer would not move while I was driving, so I could not see how fast I was going. I believe this is a severe safety issue for myself as well as others. The tachometer would ju
... mp up and down and would not function correctly. My dash stated that I had low tire pressure, that I was having problems with my traction control, that my BSD system was not working, that my ABS was not working, that my emergency brake was on even though it was not. It also stated that I did have functioning air bags, which is a severe safety hazard in the chance that I could've gotten into a wreck and they might not have worked. It also stated that I was not in Drive even though I clearly was. It also stated that I had no power steering while I was driving, before the light would turn off and I could properly steer again. This is a severe safety issue that could put me at risk. Finally, my check engine light turned on and stayed on. Yesterday on 06/09/2025 I was able to take it a vehicle maintenance shop so they could run a full diagnostic test. They discovered that I did not have power steering even though there was fluid due to the electrical problems with my dash. They also discovered the C-CAN buss was off and that my vehicle was losing communications with the TCM and HVAC. It was discovered that this was due to my rear view back-up camera malfunctioning, causing the C-CAN network to short out. They had to unplug my rear back-up camera to return everything to normal. I have found on hyundai recall forms that other years of hyundai models had similar problems and I believe that 2018 hyundai sonatas are also having the same problem. I wanted it to be made aware because online, people have stated they are having the same issues. Attached gif that shows part of problem.Read more

The car has on 5+ occasions had the collision avoidance system shut down (photos of dash showing this are available and have been shared with the dealer). There were no weather incident at the time. Lane following........ same type of thing also shared with dealer. Most disturbing is on multiple occasions, with the speed control engaged driving on the interstate at 65 to 70 mph, the speed limit
... indicator on the dash changed to 40 (no speed limit change) and the car went into hard breaking mode until I disengaged the system. (also reported to dealer) Each time the car went into the shop, they "checked the systems" and found no faults and made no repair except on one occasion, they "flashed" the software. The car went into the dealer with 67,000 miles on June 3, 2025 with a promise that they would get to the bottom of this issue. The car was returned after a full "testing" and for good measure, one software update and the replacement of a forward facing camera lens. For each item submitted, they reported no history of any faults and found nothing wrong with the car. The car was returned [XXX] at [XXX]. On [XXX] going 60 mph in traffic, the speed limit indicator jumped to 80 mph and the car immediately and rapidly accelerated until I shut the system down. I took a photo of the dash showing the 80 MPH indication. There are NO locations in Virginia that have an 80 mph speed limit. Also, on several occasions, an alert comes up the the car has been in an accident..... when parked in my garage and a bogus date. Other software glitches happen on a periodic basis INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more

I am the original owner of a 2018 GMC Sierra 1500 with the 6.2L L86 engine and 8-speed 8L90 transmission. I began experiencing severe transmission shuddering and harsh shifting, especially at lower speeds or under light acceleration. When the issue occurs, I press the gas and the engine revs up to 6,000 RPM without reaching 20 MPH, making it extremely difficult — and dangerous — to merge into
... traffic or cross intersections. This issue has worsened over time and is now a critical safety concern, especially with children in the vehicle. I have researched this issue and found that many owners report the same transmission defect, and there is an open class action lawsuit and a GM Technical Service Bulletin (TSB #18-NA-355) describing the exact symptoms. The vehicle has become unsafe to drive. GMC should issue a recall or mandatory repair program for this known defect before someone is injured or killed.Read more
