Our 2012 Ford F-150 truck had no issues and no dashboard lights when it randomly downshifted while driving and almost caused an accident. On Sat, May 9, 2026, my husband pulled onto the road and got up to 40 mph when the speedometer stopped working and the truck randomly downshifted. The car behind us had to swerve to avoid a collision. On Mon, May 11, 2026 we called the Ford garage they told u

The Ford Customer Service Representative said the CSP was issued in 2019 but we purchased the vehicle in 2020 and were never notified of an issue. I now have a $1,500 repair bill for the leadframe that Ford will not reimburse us for and also see that they still have NUMEROUS transmission and speed control issues with their vehicles. On at least 3 occasions in the past nine months, when the cruise control was ON, the adaptive cruise control feature suddenly applied the brakes on our 2025 Kia Telluride. The last incident happened in May when there was NO vehicle in front of or on either side of our vehicle. Another time the brakes were suddenly applied while attempting to pass a vehicle at about 70 mph. As soon as our vehicle e
... ntered the passing lane, the brakes suddenly slowed our vehicle down to 45-50 mph, almost causing a rear end collision with another vehicle approaching our vehicle in the passing lane at a high speed. This only happens when the vehicle is in the cruise control mode and we ARE NOT applying the brakes. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. The dealer was NOT able to reproduce the problem. We reported this to Kia Customer Care - Case #XXX on or about Feb. 21, 2026. Customer care orally responded to our report, denying any software or design problem. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more

Hard downshift caused my truck to slow suddenly and became very hesitant where the vehicle behind me had to slam on their brakes. I then pulled over when it was safe, turned the truck off and then attempted to turn back on with no success due to the shift indicator no longer lighting up. This matches up with the current recall for this particular vehicle.

On Sunday, April 12, 2026, at approximately 5:00 PM, I experienced a sudden and complete engine failure while driving my 2019 Chevy Silverado equipped with the 6.2L V8 engine. ... r to the side of the road, all while other drivers honked as I attempted to merge with no engine power. This incident caused significant stress and posed a serious safety risk. My vehicle had to be towed home and then to [XXX] Casa Chevrolet at [XXX] . After inspection, the dealership informed me that the engine requires a full rebuild, despite the vehicle having only 115,697 miles. According to the dealership, the engine shows **no compression on all cylinders**, **crankshaft and camshaft compression failure**, **pistons coated in oil and fuel with visible damage**, and a **non‑functioning timing chain likely due to a broken guide**. These findings mirror the exact symptoms currently under investigation in GM’s **EA25007** inquiry involving the 6.2L V8 (L87) engines in 2021–2025 GM trucks and SUVs GM has already issued a major recall affecting nearly **600,000 vehicles** due to defective connecting rods and crankshafts that can cause sudden engine failure, stalling, and potential fire hazards. Although my 2019 Silverado is not included in the recall, it is experiencing the same catastrophic engine failure associated with the defective components identified in the investigation. The dealership has quoted me $10,000 for an engine rebuild and has refused to assist with the cost. I have also filed a complaint directly with GM, as this failure presents the same safety risks and mechanical defects acknowledged in the recalled models. The dealership acknowledged the shifting issue but did not perform the required calibration or TSB procedures. The dealership refuses to document my reported symptoms or perform the TSB repairs unless the failure is happening in front of them. This prevents known defects from being repaired and leaves the vehicle in an unsafe condition. Ford Customer Service confirmed the shifting issue exists but the dealership still did not perform the calibration. ford corp customer service didnt understand and manager didn’t even know what a tsb is:/ so no help at corporate. as chuck the manager stated he didn’t know what document i was referring to and i told him the number as well ? I contacted Ford Customer Service and a case was opened. A customer service manager named Chuck returned my call. He stated that the TSB is “not a warranty” and that the dealership “has to duplicate the condition” before Ford will authorize the repair. I explained that the tailgate freezing issue cannot be duplicated on demand because it only occurs in cold overnight temperatures, not during daytime service hours. Despite this, Ford insisted the dealer must reproduce the failure, even though Ford’s own TSBs describe this exact cold‑weather condition.Read more

I own a 2022 Kia Sorento that was manufactured on January 13, 2022. My vehicle experienced a failure involving the electronic oil pump within the transmission system. While driving, a transmission error message appeared prior to the failure. Shortly after, the vehicle unexpectedly entered a limited-mobility condition and significantly slowed down, operating only at a reduced speed. This created a
... hazardous situation, as I was unable to maintain normal traffic flow, increasing the risk to myself and other drivers. The issue has been diagnosed and confirmed by a service center as a malfunction of the electronic transmission oil pump. I am aware that Kia Motors has issued a recall for certain 2021–2022 Sorento and 2021–2023 K5 vehicles related to a defect where the fail-safe limited-mobility drive mode may be impaired due to a transmission oil pump malfunction, potentially resulting in a complete loss of drive power. Although my vehicle appears to have been manufactured during the same timeframe as the affected vehicles, it has not been included in the recall. The failure I experienced is consistent with the conditions described in that recall. The vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives, but the issue has been confirmed by a service center and the component should be available for inspection upon request. Given the safety risk and similarity to the recalled defect, I believe this issue warrants further investigation and potential inclusion of my vehicle in the recall population.Read more

... ft to either P, D, N and R, I have to manually get out of the car, open the hood, reach inside the hot engine to manually shift the gears.I contacted Stellantis Customer Service that handles recalls. The ONLY option they had for me for this October 2025 recall was to get my car fixed at a mechanic or Dodge dealership and send them the paid invoice so they could reimburse me for the money I spent. I told them that was unacceptable to me because 1.) how can you announce a national public recall in October 2025 and it's May of 2026 and STILL do and not have literally the small part (bushing size) that you've recalled? 2.) Dodge telling me to get the part fixed for $500 or more at a mechanic when the part that doesn't exist ANYWHERE that fits my Dart? Make it make sense! Meanwhile, everyday, I risk burning myself every time I have to reach into my hot engine to manually shift gears. This is dangerous and risks litigation if I burn myself anymore. Why is Stellantis allowed to get away with this? I refuse to pay and get reimbursed when it's a recall. Worse yet, how do I get it fixed if the part apparently isn't available? COMPONENT: Electronic Throttle Control System (ETCS) / accelerator pedal. Vehicle is available for inspection at Autocentro Toyota, San Juan, PR, where it has been retained since 2/28/2026. INCIDENT: On 2/28/2026 at 7:45 AM, while entering a private driveway at under 5 MPH to park, my 2025 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid SE (VIN [XXX] , 3,164 miles) suddenly and involuntarily accelerated without driver input.
... I categorically affirm I did NOT press the accelerator. The vehicle struck a metal gate, causing frontal damage. Airbags did not deploy. OEM floor mat was properly secured; no aftermarket parts installed. SAFETY RISK: Sudden unintended acceleration at low-speed parking maneuver. Had a pedestrian, child, or another vehicle been in the path, this would have caused serious injury or death. The defect is unpredictable and the driver cannot anticipate or override it. INSPECTION: Vehicle inspected 3/20/2026 by Engineering Analysis Associates (EAA), a firm contracted and paid by Toyota — NOT independent. EAA downloaded electronic data and concluded the accelerator was pressed 1 second before impact. I dispute this finding: I did not press the pedal. No independent inspection has been allowed. Full EAA report was never provided to me. On 4/23/2026, Toyota Motor North America (Ms. Delve L., Legal Claims Administrator) declined assistance based solely on EAA's data. WARNING SIGNS: UNKNOWN. No warning lamps, messages, or prior symptoms appeared before the incident. The vehicle had functioned normally since purchase on 4/25/2025. ADDITIONAL: Vehicle retained by dealer 73+ days without repair or substitute vehicle. Consumer complaint filed with Puerto Rico DACO (Case XXX). I am reporting a serious safety concern involving my 2026 Chevy Traverse that occurred on May 9, 2026 at 6:46pm. While driving at freeway speed in the carpool lane with adaptive cruise control and gap assist engaged, my vehicle suddenly applied the brakes unexpectedly even though there were no vehicles directly in front of me. The nearest visible vehicle was a significant distance ahead, and ther
... e was no apparent reason for the braking event. This was not a gradual deceleration. The vehicle actively braked. I was passing under or near an overpass at the time, which makes me wonder whether the sensors misread something. Regardless, the sudden braking created a dangerous situation because vehicles were behind me, and the driver behind appeared to think I was brake checking them. This could have easily caused a rear end collision. As a result of this incident, I no longer feel I can trust these safety/driver assistance systems and have since disabled those features because I do not feel safe relying on them until this issue is properly investigated and addressed. I am requesting that this issue be formally documented, that the vehicle be inspected for any malfunction related to adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, or related sensor systems, and that I be advised whether this is a known issue with the 2026 Traverse. If there are any software updates, technical service bulletins, recalls, or corrective actions available, please let me know. This is a serious safety concern, and I would appreciate guidance on the next steps.Read more

On the day of the incident, I was driving my vehicle at a very low speed while approaching a red traffic light. I applied the brakes normally behind another vehicle that was already stopped. After stopping, the vehicle’s “Auto Hold” or automatic brake hold system activated properly, as it normally does when the vehi

I immediately attempted to apply the brakes in order to avoid a collision, but I was unable to stop the vehicle in time, resulting in a minor impact with the vehicle in front of me. I believe there may have been a mechanical or electronic malfunction related to the vehicle’s acceleration, braking, or automatic assistance system. I cannot identify with certainty the exact component that failed; therefore, the specific cause is UNKNOWN at this time. The vehicle remains available for inspection upon request. The situation placed both my safety and the safety of the other driver at risk, as the vehicle moved unexpectedly despite previously being stopped with the brake hold system engaged. At this time, the issue has not been reproduced or confirmed by a dealership or independent repair shop. I am also not aware of any technical inspection performed by the manufacturer. However, the incident was reported to the appropriate insurance company. I recently discovered that the brake light does not activate when applying the front brake lever. I became aware of the issue only after noticing that the motorcycle’s cruise control system would no longer engage. Upon researching the cruise control malfunction, I found numerous reports from owners indicating that failed front or rear brake pressure switches were the root cause. In almost all c
... ases, the faulty brake pressure switch prevented the brake light from functioning properly. Online searches reveal widespread owner reports across multiple model years describing identical failures related to defective brake pressure switches. These failures impact both brake light operation and cruise control functionality. The safety implications are extremely serious. Motorcyclists may unknowingly operate their motorcycles without functioning brake lights, significantly increasing the risk of rear-end collisions. Owners may be completely unaware their brake lights are not functioning. In my case, I only discovered the defect because the cruise control stopped working. Had that not occurred, I may have continued riding without realizing my brake light system had failed. I also found reports indicating that other owners filed complaints with NHTSA and were subsequently contacted regarding dealership repairs facilitated through KTM. This suggests the issue may already be known within the manufacturer and regulatory system. Given the repeated reports across multiple KTM models and years, I respectfully request that NHTSA investigate this defect and issue a safety recall . Brake light failure caused by defective brake pressure switches presents a substantial and potentially life-threatening safety hazard to motorcycle operators and surrounding traffic. Good faith repairs by KTM should be mandated for all owners.Read more

We have taken the vehicle to the dealer for past recalls and software updates and mentioned this issue happening before and were told that the vehicle showed no codes concerning the electronic parking brake issue. Upon further investigation, there are multiple reports and forums of this particular vehicle having the same issue. Its a miracle we didn't get involved in a massive collision with semi trucks and other vehicles amongst us when the vehicle lost all ability to accelerate. This could cause a huge problem if it were to happen again in a more populated area or at increased speeds. We were stuck on the side of the road for 4 hours waiting on a flatbed to tow it because it locks up the AWD system with the electronic parking brake and doesn't allow the wheels to move. This is the second time we've had it towed for this same issue only to be told that it's not a problem. I'm willing to bet that the company knows exactly what the issue is but won't issue a recall because they don't classify it as a safety recall until people start losing their lives or cost the company stockholders money. This problem has the ability to cause major harm or death to people with this vehicle if it were to shift itself into neutral or lock up the electronic parking brake while in a heavy populated area. I hope they issue a safety recall and hold the company accountable before people lose their life.Read more

The Manual Speed Limit Assist, or MSLA, feature unintendedly activated while I was driving, nearly causing a collision. I was initially unable to deactivate this steering-wheel based feature, as: (1) I did not intentionally press any buttons to activate it, and: (2) I had to balance the need to visually monitor other vehicles on the highway to avoid a collision and simultaneously figure out how to
... cancel this feature, which places a limit on the speed that the vehicle can travel. Instead of claiming that this feature malfunctioned, I am claiming that it is an egregiously, poorly designed and dangerous feature. The button to activate it is located on the steering wheel; consequently, a driver can easily activate it without meaning to do so. This inadvertent activation happened to me twice, each time impeding, however briefly, my ability to safely navigate a busy road. This feature was not identified when I purchased the vehicle; however, earlier this year Hyundai belatedly sent a letter to its customers titled "Understanding Manual Speed Limit Assist (MSLA) Feature," pointing out how to activate and disengage the feature (and providing a link to a website for a tutorial with more information: [XXX] . The truck often shifts from 6th gear down to 1st or second gear, sometimes at highway speeds and all warning light come on. It sometimes resolved itself upon starting it again, but seems to affect the throttle body. When the electrical system resets, you can hear a click from the throttle body indicating that the valve reset when the computer reset. We also have been affected by intense suffering
... from the transmission that started about the same time, around 2019 and just over 100,000 miles, after the warranty expired. Both the limp mode and shuddering seem to be results of the TRS signal. I have replaced the battery and throttle body (that repair was first suspected to be the sensor) at Lakeland Ford, then later at Midas in north Lakeland I had work done to the wheel mounts and other axle/wheel relate repairs. In total we have spent approximately $4000 on repairs caused by the improper TRS signal. In addition, we have had at least 4 near accidents caused by the faulty signature. I called Ford with no solution, such as a loaner very, for safety before the recall can be fixed.Read more
