Hello, I own a 2015 Lexus NX200T. On 9/13/2025 I was pulling into a spot to park, going slow at maybe 4-5 mph, my vehicle suddenly violently accelerates on its own. ... ep hitting the breaks as hard as I could until it stopped within inches of the two pedestrians. This was extremely dangerous and could have killed a mother and daughter in that split second. This appears to be a case of unintended acceleration, which I understand is a serious safety issue. I've been told by both the dealership and Lexus that because no damage occurred, it's not their problem. But this is clearly a safety defect, not just a maintenance issue. I would like Lexus to take this very seriously. I was shaken and very scared. I have NEVER had this happen before. Lexus suggested that the floor mats may have got caught - NO absolutely not. I have the mats locked in place with clips. I did not hit the accelerator instead of the breaks as that is what is assumed. No external damage occurred, but the unintended acceleration was violent. This incident took control away from me. Even though no accident occurred this time, the potential for injury or death is very high. I contacted Lexus and the dealership, but both declined to inspect the vehicle, stating it was not their issue because no damage occurred. I believe this a very serious safety defect that should be investigated. I am requesting NHTSA to investigate this potential defect in the Lexus NX200T model. If other owners experience the same, this could indicate a widespread safety problem. I was very lucky I did not kill anyone; it would have changed the day's events forever for the lives of two innocent people and myself. I sat for a few minutes to try and turn the engine/car back on and the car would not crank, but the overhead lights, radio, and dash lights were functioning. -This was an extremely dangerous experience. The car began to decelerate rapidly in heavy freeway traffic. At that speed, with many semi-trucks traveling nearby, this sudden loss of speed created an extremely dangerous situation. My vehicle instantly became a slow moving obstacle in the lane. Only by luck and quick reaction was a serious or fatal collision avoided. The car would not start back up so I was sitting at the edge of the highway as many cars flew by just inches away from my car. -I am away at college in a rural city. Accessibility is limited as well as support because of lack of resources. -The car was towed to a mechanic who does not specialize in German cars and stated they did not have the proper tools to "get into the car" because the motor is "locked up" and the car wouldn't crank. -The vehicle will be towed to the nearest dealership (50mi away) who stated they won't be able to look at it for a few weeks from date of arrival. Research indicates this may be linked to a known issue with Electronic Steering Lock (ESL) / Electronic Ignition Switch (EIS) failure in Mercedes vehicles, which can electronically disable the engine and steering. No warning lights or alerts appeared in the FordPass app prior to the crash on 8/25/25.Allstate Insurance removed the vehicle from Wray Ford without authorization, falsely claimed a $10,000 salvage offer, and altered the accident date in the online portal. Damage estimates were manipulated: initial $4,500 based on five photos, later inflated to $13,195 using the same photos. Shreve Collision’s manager confirmed no estimate was performed, contradicting Allstate’s claims. Allstate appears to be shielding Ford from liability. The vehicle is no longer in my possession, but documentation and diagnostic records are preserved. I believe Ford concealed a critical defect and suppressed diagnostic data, putting my safety and others at serious risk.I have contacted FORD and they are stalling and have misrepresented to me many things. They admitted that they can access FORDPASS CONNECT DATA remotely and their agent stated driving this vehicle is not an option. I have almost been involved in prior accidents because of hidden defect in my car. My son has audio recordings, transcripts, Ford Pass Connect Data. We believe Allstate changed the date of the accident to throw off a forensic examinator. I have proof of Allstate changing the accident date and removing documents. This is really a serious breach by Allstate and Ford. On [XXX], my wife experienced sudden unintended acceleration, followed immediately by complete loss of braking and steering control. She was unable to avoid leaving the roadway and entered a ditch, sustaining a minor injury. The vehicle suffered fender damage. The vehicle was towed to our authorized Volkswagen dealership. The dealership’s technician documented that the power steering module failed. However, Volkswagen of America subsequently dispatched an engineer, who instructed the dealer not to communicate further with us. Volkswagen headquarters later claimed the power steering module failed only because the vehicle entered the ditch—an explanation directly at odds with the technician’s report and a witness account. Volkswagen has refused to accept responsibility, declined to cover medical or repair costs, and denied replacement of the failed power steering module. Our insurance provider also declined coverage, determining that the accident was caused by a mechanical failure. Initially. We were able to pull over that time and stop driving before the car turned off. we took the vehicle in and they inspected it for the recall. I was not being able to pull all the way over prior to the vehicle, losing power and stopping in the middle of the highway with my children inside. The Hyundai Santa Cruz has KNOWN transmission issues and the fact I was nearly rear ended could've caused a nasty wreck, resulting in more damage or even a fatality. I reported the issue to Hyundai customer service on the 11th of September (Case #[XXX]). However, in the response from Hyundai, basically saying they "experiencing a high e-mail volume" and responses may be delayed. The forward collision avoidance that we have experienced engaging previously, never engaged, despite hitting multiple vehicles on the lefft side and then right side of the street. The collision avaoidance alarms that we have experienced sounding previously, also never went off. The airbags never deployed, despite hitting 3 cars at two different sides of the street, as well as an iron fence that never moved. The vehicle went from traveling less than 5 mph while completing the last few feet of parking to a high rate of acceleration within a path of less than 40 feet, as evidenced by the significant damage it left. Had my wife not come to a stop as quickly as she did, she could have been seriously injured. If anyone had been on the sidewalk - there are 3 shcools on this block that children are often present - someone could have been killed. The vehicle is currently at a body shop being evaluated by insurance adjuster and likely a total loss. We reported tot the manufacturer and they intend to repsond to us by 9/16 and inspect the vehicle in its current state.Read more

After researching this online and looking up the Hyundai Manual, when you activate cruise control it automatically activates lane assist which automatically activates the Forward Attention Warning which, at that point, deactivates the cruise IF you are either wearing sunglasses or blocking the view of your face from the steering column camera using say your arm. The "assistance" does not allow you to drive with your arm at the top of the steering wheel, I was getting tired using both arms on each side and had to give one of my arms a rest only to realize this was an issue and couldn't. Add to this that it was sunny and could not use sunglasses as the camera couldn't see my eyes. I researched this online and there's several recent videos and Reddit messages across various platforms that this is a major issue for people and a serious risk for some as they can not use sunglasses on sunny days and the fact it automatically deactivates after a while. All it would take is to actually have this fully deactivated where it's listed in the Driver Assistance section.Read more

Received vehicle at roughly 181,000 miles. Operated fine for about 5,000 miles and then began to show problems. In most cases when pressing down hard on the accelerator pedal, transmission drops into a lower gear and revs up to 5k rpm, cancelling cruise control, and staying there until accelerator is relieved. This makes accelerating more difficult since too much pressure on the accelerator pedal

This makes passing cars more dangerous as the car gets stuck at 5k rpm and can't pass the other vehicle, increasing the risk of a head on collision. Service engine and ABS lights are on as well as a service Stabilitrak notification in the driver information center. In addition, the outside temperature thermometer is faulty and shows much lower temperatures, such as -14 degrees during an 80 degree day. Vehicle is up to maintenance as far as my knowledge goes. Car has been previously junked twice and has a rebuilt title. There are no fluid leaks, the engine works well when the problem is not encountered, but it gets stuck at 5k rpm under hard acceleration more than it doesn't.Read more

Since i did not want a trade in and wanted my car fixed instead Neil tried to tell me that this was my final offer which i declined because why not just fix my car? I went to talk to Neil in person September 9, 2025 about getting my car fixed and the frustrations i am having because having to return the car weekly and i havent had it for a month is outrageous. [XXX] i was driving the hyundai on the highway with my children in the car and the electricity to the car completely cut off but came right back on, i got off the highway and the car did it again and this time the wheel locked up and i almost wrecked the car. I called metcalf and the only thing they could tell me was they can tow my car to metcalf but me and my children had to find our own means of transportation. Every time i called to have my car serviced and told them about what i would hear and feel they could NEVER make the car "do it again". I am beyond frustrated, upset and terrified because i have been telling them about smoking coming from the engine, rattling noise etc. My kids lives were put in danger and the only thing they could say was "i apologize and we can tow the car to the shop". Did not care if we had transportation and have never offered to give us any after continously getting stranded in the car. Now the car is towed to their shop once again and the car wouldnt even turn over for me to get it out of the middle of the street. Truck was intermittently losing power steering and shutting off/reseting itself. Was a loss of electrical and was throwing Stabilitrak Service warning. Upon commuting to work, the car failed to accelerate causing the car to almost suddenly stop while driving; at the same time of the failure warning lights and beeping occurred. ... he gasket failed (cylinder #3) and is available for inspection upon request. It was a significant safety issue as the failure occurred without warning causing the car to stop no warning. Yes, the dealer has confirmed the failure and I was quoted a $5800 repair cost in spite of a owning a lifetime power train warranty. No, the vehicle or component has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance. I did place a call to American Honda and we were given a case #15822812 (but this case has since been closed without action.) No warnings occurred before the failure. (Beeping and messages occurred at the time of failure.) Had the failure occurred at a high rate of speed, on an expressway, loss of life could have occurred and no one would know what caused the accident since cars are usually towed away and declared “totaled.” Fortunately, I was on a road of 35mph but in just a few more minutes would have been at a speed of 65mph. There is a further safety concern that the dealer admits that there is a known problem with the OEM component but plans to continue to replace with the same product. Note: this car has a superior care record and only 110,000 miles which means the failure is likely to occur again with the same parts. Internet searches are confirming this is a known product failure with no recall.Read more

My 2007 Crown Victoria has had a worsening unintended acceleration issue over the past year. When driving, the collision sign randomly comes on. It causes the the vehicle to rev and there's a lag in picking up speed. There are times when the vehicle is "stuck" while waiting on a left turn and it screeches and jolts when I press on the gas to move forward before it actually moves.

On each occasion, acceleration was either severely delayed or completely unresponsive, and the vehicle rolled backward when attempting to move forward on an incline. The vehicle was brought to Tesla service centers twice—on October 10, 2024, and September 2, 2025. On both occasions, Tesla stated that the issue could not be reproduced and returned the vehicle without performing any repairs. During the second visit, Tesla performed a $275 wheel alignment adjustment. The service report noted that the warning lights “may be restored on next drive.” I was verbally told that adjusting the alignment might help identify the root cause, but Tesla never explained how this adjustment was related to the actual symptoms. After performing the alignment, I was simply notified that the vehicle was ready for pickup. This kind of propulsion failure and rollback on inclines presents a serious safety risk to the driver, passengers, and other vehicles on the road.
