Full self drive 14.1 removes the max speed setting that allows drivers to control the speed of the vehicle while under computer control, leaving no way to prevent the car from speeding when the speed profiles choose to drive over 28+ mph over the speed limit. The lack of ability to control the speed of the system is fundamentally unsafe by design.

So my engine failed at 70K. Nissan replaced it with a remanufactured engine the is failing faster than the original engine. Apparently the remedy won't be out until late in Q4 of 2025. No rental or loaner assistance was offered at all. ... ately 45 MPH with the adaptive cruise control engaged, the traffic light ahead turned yellow. As I have done many times before in similar conditions, I applied the brakes firmly to slow and stop for the light. However, the vehicle did not slow down as normally expected. As the light turned red and cross traffic began entering the intersection, I pressed the brakes as hard as possible. The vehicle began to slow, and the tires felt like they were “hopping,” but the vehicle never came to a complete stop. Because I was now in the middle of the intersection with a red light and vehicles entering from other directions, I released the brake to avoid a collision. At that point, the vehicle lurched forward, and I realized the cruise control system was still engaged and was actively propelling the vehicle forward. A short time later, the cruise control system finally disengaged on its own. This malfunction nearly caused a serious accident. Under normal operation, pressing the brake pedal firmly at any speed should immediately disengage adaptive cruise control, but this did not occur. Dealer Response: Immediately after the incident, the vehicle was taken to the Mount Pleasant Jeep dealership, SC. The dealership’s technician connected a diagnostic code reader and stated there were no fault codes. They also checked for Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) and stated none existed for this issue. The technician told me there was nothing further they could do. The dealership did not perform a road test, did not escalate the issue to the manufacturer. I wear NON polarized sunglasses to be able drive safely in the very bright Arizona sun, and to see the HUD which is impossible to read if wearing polarized sunglasses. I have worn sunglasses while driving for over 50 years. This 2025 Hyundai Tucson Limited Hybrid is the first car that has this very overly sensitive driver attention warning system and IF it is not adjusted quickly will cause me to sell this otherwise excellent vehicle at a great financial loss. I pressed the "set+" button when I was going 56 mph and I immediately noticed that the cruise had set itself to 70 mph so I applied the brakes, turned the cruise off and back on. Mastria Mazda in Raynham, MA acknowledged the issue and performed a software update. While braking behavior improved slightly, the trembling at idle and other concerns persist. 4.Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? No formal inspection has been conducted. I mailed a detailed letter to Mazda’s corporate office in Hiroshima in July 2025 and received confirmation of receipt, but no response or inspection followed. I also mailed a letter to Quirk Mazda, the dealership where I purchased the vehicle, and received no reply. When I attempted to discuss the issue the service manager at Quirk Mazda dismissed my concerns and stated it would be “impossible to recreate” the issue. No one from Mazda or its representatives has contacted me to inspect or address the problem. 5. No warning lamps or dashboard messages appeared. Screen has bubbling starting to appear on it, ghost touch is activating every button on the screen. Doesn’t stop when restarted and causes for navigation system to be hindered. This is a safety hazard because it is spreading across the screen and could potentially cause navigations and air conditioner system lost. When pressure is applied, stops momentarily.

Problem Statement: Instrument cluster has an instrumentation update lag of approximately 10 seconds. The problem may or not be present when you turn the vehicle on. Description of Problem: Turning on the vehicle. The Instrument cluster does not load properly. Different display elements appear in a different sequence than normal. The speedometer remains at zero even though the car is moving.
... The lag to begin changing the speed indicated is approximately 7-10 seconds. The car can be moving at 60 miles per hour, and the speedometer indicates zero. When the car is stopped the guage may read the prior steadystate speed of the vehicle. For example. Going from 65mph to a stop the speedometer will continue to read 65mph even though it has stopped. Potential Safety issues •Driver Speed Awareness: The driver may unknowingly exceed speed limits, exposing themselves to traffic citations or legal liability. •Inability to gauge speed accurately may lead to unsafe driving behaviors, such as entering curves or approaching intersections too quickly. •Braking and Stopping Distance Misjudgment: If the driver believes they are traveling more slowly than they actuallyare, they may underestimate stopping distances. This can result in rear-end collisions, failure to yield, or inability to stop in time for pedestrians or cross traffic. •Acceleration and Merging Risks: During highway merging or lane changes, the driver may not accelerate appropriately relative to surrounding traffic. In August of 2024, I got into my car in a parking lot and turned the key in the ignition. The car started revving really high. I waited for it to slow down, and then I put it into reverse. The car shot back and would have hit the building if I hadn't slammed on the brakes. ... building stood there looking at me. I slowly put my foot on the gas pedal and drove home. The following day, I had a tow truck come and take the car to the dealer. They did a scheduled maintenance service and replace the throttle body. Everything was fine until 9/28/25. I was driving out of a parking lot and entering the street going very slowly, suddenly the car lurched forward very fast, and I had to slam on my brakes to stop it. I drove it home. I notified a friend who knew a mechanic that he said was familiar with this type of issue. He got in touch with the dealership where the car had been serviced, and I got a call from the Service Department manager. He asked me to bring the car in so they could try to find out what the problem was. He said that if they couldn't find out what it was, an engineer might be called in to inspect the car. I am planning on having the car towed to the dealership this week. On neither occasion did any warning lights come on in the car. It was very fortunate that no one was hurt during either incident, but it could have been tragic. I was only about 15 feet away from a crosswalk when the second incident occurred. I read online that the manufacturer is involved in a lawsuit where several other people have had the same experience, although not the same model as my car.
