Driving on highway at 70 mph and I lose all power. Message says to shift to park. Jeep will not accelerate when gas pedal is pressed. Had to come to a complete stop, shift to park and luckily it drove for a few more miles to get me off the highway before getting killed. Multiple dash lights came on including check engine.
Incident date: Oct 10, 2025
While driving at any rate of speed the vehicle would take over, shutting down driver control with a message on the dashboard saying to put vehicle in park. After pulling over to shut vehicle off, I would turn it back on, and was allowed to drive until this occurred again. A message would come up to service hybrid system.

On Friday [XXX] at approximately [XXX]. My wife and I were driving our 2024 C-Class 300 (~8,000 miles on this vehicle) on [XXX] and entering the intersection of [XXX]. Riverside, CA 92506 when all of sudden the car just died (the engine stopped running, pushing the gas pedal with no power) and all the dashboard lights came on flashing like crazy. This incident paced my wife and I in a very venera
... ble bad not safe situation. If there was any traffic at in this intersection at that moment it would have been a bad situation. I called MB Walter's they could hear the sounds which were loud and they ask me to open and close the doors to see if sound would stop and wait 5 minutes and try to restart. Waited 5 minutes car started and we drove it to Walter's. The week before I had it back in the service department because the finger print function was not working any longer. They supposedly replaced the software package and then this major issue happen. The service department at Walter's has tried at least two times to download a new software package however this vehicle is not allowing it to accept it. They said engineers from the East coast were trying to help but nothing has been accomplished. It is becoming frustrating and allowing the overall safety concern has been increasing for my wife and I. What if this happens again and we are on the freeway or a street with traffic which both situations could cause a severe accident and harm. Incident date: Oct 11, 2025
As I was driving the car on the highway, the engine light came on, then the "D" for drive gear started flashing and I could no longer accelerate or give the car gas. The only option was to "coast" across several lanes to the break down lane, put the car completely in park, shut off the ignition, and then restart the vehicle to drive again. This happened to me at least 7-8 times today (5 times wh
... ile on the highway and a few while on other roads leading to and from the highway). I was unfortunately already on a drive to drop my children off somewhere so I had no choice but to complete the ride to the destination, then drive back home to park the vehicle. Needless to say, it's a very scary situation when you can no longer accelerate with cars coming up quickly behind you and you are unable to do anything but try to coast to a safe place to put the car in park and shut it off. It also happened to me while crossing an intersection and oncoming traffic from the other direction that then had a green light was swerving around me. I tried calling Jeep customer service to ask if it's a widespread issue and after 20 minutes on hold, the customer service rep came on to simply say their system is down and they're currently unable to assist anyone. I was almost in several accidents because of the issue and hope they send out a warning to all of those affected, assuming it was more than just my vehicle, because this seems to be occurring every since there was a mandatory software update yesterday. This happened at different speeds, in both electric and gas mode, and once while stopped at a red light, so there appears to be no consistent condition under which it occurs. It just unexpectedly happens and you need to pull somewhere safe with minimal control because of the lack of being able to accelerate (esp. if it occurs while you're on an upward slope because the ability to coast is almost nil).Read more

While driving, a warning suddenly appeared stating “Electronic Stability Control Failure.” Immediately afterward, the vehicle stopped accelerating and automatically shifted from RUN to ACC mode with no throttle response or acceleration control. Traffic was moderate, and when the vehicle abruptly lost propulsion, several cars behind me had to brake hard and nearly collided with my vehicle. I w
... as able to coast and pull off the roadway safely, but it was a dangerous situation that could easily have caused an accident. This failure occurred without warning, and the vehicle has a history of prior powertrain and driver-assistance system issues, including repeated “Four Wheel Drive Service” and “Electric Power Steering Fail” warnings earlier in 2025. The most recent event on October 11, 2025, was the most severe and created a serious safety hazard. Updated vehicle last night via u-connect, vehicle died today while driving, lost all power. Check engine light on, hundreds of posts via social media with the same problem
Incident date: Oct 11, 2025
The Jeep stop while driving reduced speed, the dashboard said shift to P AND that it was not safe to drive due to performance. The check engine light is on and will not turn off, the jeep will not drive in electric mode. Also there was an update with Uconnect.
Incident date: Oct 10, 2025
Immediately after updating the UConnect software in my parking lot, I drove away and my Jeep lost power while driving. Engine shut off and said "Shift to P to Start." Had to shift to park and restart just to get moving again. Was barely able to get it to the dealership right afterwards and then it happened again while in motion. Happened again and again in the dealership parking lot.

I am writing to bring attention to what I believe is a serious and ongoing issue related to the design of my vehicle’s transmission system. I recently contacted Ford Motor Corp. regarding this matter and was assigned a case number; however, the case was open and closed within a 5-minute conversation. I was informed that there are currently no known issues or recalls related to the transmission i
... n my vehicle. Despite this, there is a problem I continue to experience recurring transmission problems that raise significant safety concerns while operating the vehicle at various speeds. Erratic and unreliable shifting, the transmission often feels like it is “floating” between gears, shifting abruptly, or sometimes not shifting at all. Slipping gear, there are frequent instances many of which I would consider close calls where the transmission slips during acceleration, causing a sudden and unexpected loss of power. These issues make it extremely unsafe to perform routine driving maneuvers such as pulling out from a stop sign into moving highway traffic, crossing busy intersections, merging onto highways, or responding quickly to changing traffic conditions. The inconsistent vehicle response under normal driving conditions puts not only my family, but others on the road, at significant risk. Based on my own experience and further research, I am concerned that this may be a broader, well-documented issue that has not been adequately addressed by the manufacturer. The ford dealerships are aware of this problem and are so inundated that the current dealership cannot even see my vehicle for over a month and i am told have parts delay due to the repair demand. Given the nature and potential danger of these transmission problems, I respectfully urge a thorough investigation into this matter. Thank you for your attention to this serious concern.Read more

We’ve experienced multiple ongoing issues with this vehicle, and the dealership’s only suggestion so far has been to file a lemon law claim. Last month, the car began jerking excessively while driving typically at speeds between 35–45 mph. The best way to describe it is that it feels as though all the wheels lock up at once, causing a loud tire-screeching noise. It was a frightening experie
... nce. The dealership claimed to have resolved the issue with a “software update.” However, just last night, my wife was stranded on the highway when the car suddenly started shutting down mid-drive, similar to what happens when a vehicle runs out of gas. The maximum speed she could reach was about 20 mph, and the check engine light came on. She switched from hybrid mode to eSave (gas-only mode), which allowed her to get home safely. This morning, she tested it again. The check engine light was initially off, but after a short drive, it came back on and the vehicle started shutting down again. This Jeep is a lease, and despite being in the shop five times three of those for a full week the dealership continues to “service” it without providing a real solution. We are extremely concerned about the vehicle’s safety and reliability at this point.Read more

My 2019 Nissan Rogue Sport is affected by recall 23V-093, related to the jackknife key potentially collapsing while driving and shutting off the vehicle. The only remedy currently offered is a spacer inserted into the key fob to permanently prevent the blade from folding. This disables the folding feature — a core function of the product — and turns a jackknife key into a permanently extended
... blade. I consider this an unacceptable fix. It does not restore the key’s intended design or function. No alternate solution (such as a properly redesigned or replacement fob) is offered. My dealer confirmed the “repair” is only the plastic spacer. Nissan Consumer Affairs escalated my case, but the call was dropped during transfer and I could not reach a resolution. I have not experienced a shutdown incident, but I am filing this complaint because the offered recall remedy removes a core feature and does not constitute a true repair. Nissan should be required to provide a fix that both eliminates the safety risk and restores original functionality.Read more

Observation: "While operating the vehicle in Reverse (R) with the One-Pedal Driving (OPD) mode enabled, the expected aggressive regenerative braking deceleration is disabled or significantly reduced compared to when driving forward in Drive (D). Safety Concern: "This creates an unexpected driving experience where the car continues to coast/accelerate without input when the accelerator is releas
... ed, requiring the driver to use the traditional friction brake pedal to stop the vehicle. This goes against the driver's established muscle memory and expectation from OPD in Drive, creating a potential safety risk, especially in tight maneuvering situations where quick, expected stopping is necessary." Suggested Action: "Review the design choice to disable/reduce OPD-level regenerative braking in Reverse to determine if a gradual or driver-selectable level of regen braking could be safely implemented to maintain consistency with the OPD driving 'norm' and prevent unexpected coasting."Read more

In my 2024 Tuscon, Hyundai has connected their cruise control to their driver assistance function. This system includes a camera on the steering column that watches the drivers eyes. If for any reason, they cannot see your eyes they will shutdown cruise control without warning. This can be caused by simply wearing sun glasses. So this forces the customer to choose between two safety features.
... Cruise control which we all know has signifcant safety implications reducing stress fatique, etc. and bypass all the driver assistance systems. There are people who are putting black tape over the camera and disabling DAS so they can use their cruise control due to the inability to wear sun glasses when heading west (obviously even within a curve, so it shuts down unexectedly in the curve). Surely that is not an acceptable solution. Hyundai should add an option to ignore the eye checks while using the cruise control but so far they have totally ignored it.
