The car suddenly would not accelerate over 20 miles per hour when I was driving on a busy road. The car has made clunking noises whenever I accelerate since I bought it 6 months ago. There is a recall for other 2020 Jeep Compass Latitudes that would explain this problem (W48/NHTSA 20E-037) but my VIN is not included in the recall. I think that this is a mistake.

My transmission is fine... All they had to do is updated/reset my BCM when they had it as well as perform a "relearn". But they didn't!!! During an attempt to pass a slow-moving truck, the vehicle failed to accelerate, forcing me to brake hard to avoid a head-on collision. My fiancée and our infant twins were in the vehicle at the time. I immediately contacted Service Manager Steven Constable at Bob Penkhus Mazda. The dealership retained the vehicle for inspection but claimed they “could not duplicate” the issue because “they don’t have mountains to drive it up.” No repairs were made. Instead, I was told to “drive it for 30 days to monitor,” despite the documented safety risk. I refused to assume that risk and requested a repurchase, replacement, or trade into a non-PHEV model. I even offered to accept a lower-trim base model, provided it had captain’s chairs, and to continue paying my current monthly amount. The dealership and General Manager A.J. ... rove the car straight home. I went to work the next morning and as I was pulling into a parking spot in parking garage, all of the sudden, I was crashed into the wall at a high rate of speed. I am extremely concerned that this may have been a malfunction with the Nissan Rogue as this occurred less then 24 hours after it was serviced. My car was totaled and the damage looks like it hit at 30 mph or more which is extremely alarming as I was slowing coming into the parking spot. I don't know exactly what happened however if there have been any issues with Nissans and sudden acceleration, I feel this needs to be investigated. My Rogue is a 2022 and had to have the engine replaced in early 2024. Nissan could not give any explanation as to why. My car has been taken to a salvage yard and I am concerned that if there was and issue, any evidence of an issued could be destroyed. On the morning of 1 Oct, I had left the house here in Cedartown GA to head to a meeting in Atlanta with a customer. I had started the truck 15 minutes before departing just as we have always done to our vehicles over the years to allow them to warm up properly. H, no traffic, acceleration or deceleration and the stability control system light came on, one second later the engine light came on and the engine all of a sudden started making a loud grinding and clunking noise. I was on the inside lane so let the car pass next to me and started to pull over onto the shoulder of the road. I immediately shut off the truck, popped the hood and got out to inspect what might have happened. There was no smoke, I checked all the fluids and all were at the normal ranges. The engine oil was at its full mark as well. The oil was just changed a month early and still of the same color as it was new. After checking, I got back on the truck, attempted to start and it ran for a few seconds then I immediately shut it off after hearing again the loud noise. A Polk county police officer stopped to check on me and offer assistance as well as some tow companies to call. Eventually after about at hour a tow truck showed, we tried to momentarily start the vehicle so it could be put in neutral but the engine had locked up. I’m glad I got off the road when I did, otherwise I feel I could have been driving and experienced that sudden lock up and loss of control which could have been a serious accident with log trucks up and down that highway all day long. This vehicle is my wife’s primary vehicle and always has been maintained to a T just like all of our GM vehicles have. My 2017 Ram 1500 is experiencing a critical failure of the ABS control module, resulting in persistent brake system warning lights, ABS warning, and electronic stability control (ESC) warning on the dashboard. This failure disables the anti-lock braking system, traction control, and cruise control, posing a significant safety risk, especially in adverse conditions where ABS is essential to prevent
... wheel lockup. The dashboard warning lights are constantly illuminated, creating distraction and driver fatigue. The dealership diagnosed the issue as a faulty ABS control module but informed me the part is on indefinite backorder with no estimated availability. They provided no interim solution, leaving me to drive an unsafe vehicle without ABS or cruise control, critical for long-distance highway travel. The absence of ABS increases the risk of skidding or loss of control during emergency braking, particularly on wet or slippery surfaces. The disabled ESC further compromises vehicle stability. This failure at 125,000 miles on a well-maintained vehicle is unacceptable and appears to be a widespread issue, as numerous 2015-2018 Ram 1500 owners report identical problems online and in forums. This defect warrants an immediate NHTSA investigation and recall, as it mirrors issues in 2017-2018 Ram HD models already under recall for similar ABS/HCU failures. I should not be forced to drive an unsafe vehicle indefinitely or pay out-of-pocket ($500-$2,000 per dealership estimate) for a manufacturer defect affecting thousands. Please expedite a recall to ensure Ram/Stellantis provides prompt replacements or reimbursements. My truck has been meticulously maintained with regular service and there is no reason this should be happening.Read more

The gear indicator on the dash that shows the mode and gear, for example: D3 (drive 3rd gear), completely disappeared and the gas pedal completely went unresponsive. At this point i used the momentum of the car in motion to exit off of the freeway into a parking center. The vehicle proceeded to not respond in regards to going into park, reverse, or drive. ... n’t an accident, I had 6 passengers and it could’ve been a very bad situation. It finally gave some acceleration but even then later gave out when driving on the highway. I went from 70 to 53 MPH before I could accelerate again. Other times it happens I was on a road going 35 MPH and it wouldn’t accelerate anymore, dropped down to 26 MPH. I can only coast and pressing the gas just revs the engine, going up to 4000 RPM. It only happens when already driving, not from a dead stop (at least so far). This has happened in all 3 driving modes, Eco (happened the most in this mode), Sport and Smart mode. This has to be addressed and fixed, I’m nervous to drive the car or have my family ride in it. There were no warning lights showing and the diagnostics are stating normal. I’m taking it to a dealership today. The one detail I noticed that happened consistently was the car seemed to be stuck in a mode not being able to determine if it’s in charging, electric or hybrid mode and tries to combine them. There’s a graphic on the display that shows the power either coming from the battery to the front wheels OR from the front wheels to the battery, never arrows both ways. When this happened, there were arrows going both ways from the batteries to the front wheels and from the front wheels to the battery at the same time. ... finally able to get the brake to work and it stopped just before another parking lot curb with planter zone. As far as I can tell the brake and or accelerator malfunctioned dangerously and suddenly. It could also have been a malfunctioning TPS (throttle positioning sensor). I would like my car inspected to determine what caused this malfunction. While everyone involved said they felt fine. One person, in the first car hit, was sitting in the driver seat, luckily no one was in the front passenger seat. That driver said she was ok. The second car was unoccupied. This dangerous incident had no warnings or symptoms prior to the accident. My online research shows that there was a recall that included my make and year for sticky pedal, floormat, and deformed accelerator cable housing. These can cause unintended acceleration or unresponsive pedal. According to the Toyota website my VIN has no outstanding recalls though. I would like my car checked out because any recall repair, if done, may not have been done thoroughly enough to prevent the collision I experienced on September 28, 2025, some 15 years or so after the 2010 recall.Read more

While attempting to park and depressing the brake the car made a sudden acceleration without input and hard braking did not slow the car. The car then impacted the curb. On another occasion while stopped at a red light the car began to move forward while the break was depressed. Pressing the break with additional force did not stop the vehicle and it continued to roll forward.

I performed an Over-the-Air update on the car. When we got in to drive it about 10 minutes later, after driving for about 30 seconds, the car completely died. I drove to Regal Cinema Hacienda Crossing for a 3:20 PM movie. Upon returning to the car, I noticed extremely slow and inconsistent responses from both the accelerator and the brake, making the vehicle nearly uncontrollable. ... hen the light turned green, the car failed to move forward despite pressing the accelerator. After several seconds, it suddenly surged forward uncontrollably, and when I pressed the brake, the response was delayed—the car continued moving into the intersection before it abruptly stopped. Fortunately, there was no collision, but the situation could easily have resulted in a serious accident. I parked nearby to inspect the vehicle and observed a yellow battery warning light on the dashboard and also a red word warning "the car is not ready to drive". After shutting off the car, I heard a mechanical noise lasting about 30 seconds. When I restarted it and shifted into reverse, the car instead moved forward slowly. After turning the engine off and restarting again, the warning light disappeared and the car seemed to return to normal. Given the danger, I chose to drive home slowly rather than continue to the service center. I feel this is a very serious incident that worth to report, to avoid the same issue that might have happened at other drivers' side. Besides the above issue, this car had been experienced 4 times false engine start up, I sent the car to Dodge service, they said they cannot duplicate the error so they returned my car and the leasing company Stellantis dispute the repurchase requirement. Vehicle suddenly shuts off while driving. Many other Wrangler owners (especially of 2024 models) are reporting same issue and saying it is due to recent Uconnect update. I experienced a serious safety issue with my 2025 Volvo EX90 around 1:15 PM on October 7, 2025. It was drizzling at the time. I had stopped in front of an ATM to deposit and withdraw money. On 10/10/25, an Uconnect update appeared on info center console. I pressed the update now button and went into a store. After re-entering my vehicle, I drove one block and a message appeared on the dash that stated ‘Service Charging System’. After about a minute of driving, the check engine light came on. Then about 2 minutes later, the vehicle abruptly shut down while driving, again nearly causing another collision. A message displayed to shift in park and restart. I followed these directions as I also made a call to the dealership to advise of this issue. The vehicle restarted and I was able to drive for another minute and vehicle shut down again while on the phone with the dealership. Vehicle suddenly dropped in speed. Only able to go about 10 mph. CEL and received Electronic Stability Control error. Was able to get car home and CEL message eventually off. Drove it again but found that it would shut down about every 10 miles. Would have to stop the car, shut it off, then could drive it another 10 miles. And the CEL did come back on.
