The issue involves the adaptive cruise control and automatic emergency braking systems. When engaged, the system intermittently and unexpectedly applies full braking force while I am changing lanes on the freeway, even when no vehicle is directly in front of my car. This has occurred multiple times at highway speeds, causing the car to slam on the brakes abruptly, which poses a serious safety risk

Upon purchase of the vehicle, unlike previous models and versions of the software - the vehicle’s speed limit control was incapable of being set - instead, using FSD, you had to select from percentage based offsets - which were frequently ignored and would still go much higher or much lower than the percentage value set. ... limit; instead it was percent based and not reliable. In addition, more than a third of the time - the speed limits in the infotainment system did not match the posted speed limits. Sometimes, in the middle of a highway - it would randomly go from 55 to 25, posing a significant threat hazard when using the FSD or cruise control system (which is something Tesla charges extra for access to) causing the vehicle to immediately decrease speed when other vehicles behind are getting up to speed and not expecting a vehicle to randomly slow down excessively. Additionally, when you manually override the speed limit control, or the system does, the user interface hides this limit so the driver is unaware of what limit of speed it is set to. These issues were already bad enough, but just yesterday my vehicle was pushed a software update that dramatically reduced the performance of FSD, and now I am unable to manually control the speed limit at all in FSD. This was a regression from purchase, when a scroll wheel at least allowed me to manually set the speed limit or correct it when it was wrong. Now, that feature has been removed and instead there’s a duplication of FSD profiles (left/right on the right scroll wheel does the same as scrolling up/down). And continuing this trend, the driver is incapable of seeing what the speed limit is set to because it’s hidden from the user interface. In addition, the driving behavior for FSD has significantly regressed from before the update. Cruise control’s most basic functionality should be to set a speed limit. The problem has been reported to a confirmed Jeep dealership, Fred Frederick with no resolution because they are still unable to obtain the parts. I contacted them as soon as I was notified of the recall which was January 23, 2025. My AWD light does come on and off but I am uncertain of the dates. My Jeep Cherokee has the 2.4L Turbo engine. I also notice that the FCW does not operate properly as before and since this incident, I am not able to drive my vehicle due the unexpected loss of motion/power while driving and to prevent further damage.Read more

Now the car is once again stuck in engine power reduced with no direct codes linked to the problem and the starter was replaced and now the engine is remaining in limp mode. The car has stalled multiple times on not only at stop lights but on the highway and while turning at busy intersections causing traffic jams and even a side collision. This issue is very intermittent, which makes it even more dangerous and harder to diagnose until it starts to happen more often as my vehicle put on more miles. No warning lights or messages of failure. I was almost hit broadside at an intersection and nearly rearended on the interstate at 65 mph. My life was seriously in jeopardy as I panic stricken to get power entering the interstate with my vehicle basically in neutral. I had to pull over and shift to park and then to Drive again. According the local dealership and many forums, Jeep is aware of this issue and has had NO RECALL since the majority are out of warranty by the time they are diagnosed. I was driving very slowly and then went down a hill. As soon as I tapped the brakes, the same thing occurred again. I was only 6 miles or less from the dealership. So, after re-starting the car for the 3rd or 4th time, I learned that using the parking brake did not disrupt the car and the accelerator continued to work. I have about 83,600 miles and don’t seem to understand why I have to pay since in the customer satisfaction program it states that the module needs to be replaced before sale and customers that have already purchased the vehicle should have it replaced no charge to them. I’ve only just gotten this car last year February 2024 and not sure if the owner before got the notice or not but I have not received a notice stating anything about the AWD system malfunctioning. It is definitely a safety risk if I was to be driving in a snow or ice storm and my traction control stopped working; without the AWD the car is harder to accelerate and control sometimes. I haven't gotten if fixed since they want me to pay for something that they failed to make sure was working correctly. I can't afford to fix it since money is already tight but it is my only way of transportation. The airbags did not deploy. The two rear passengers struck their heads during the impact and sustained bumps, and my dog was also affected in the collision.This accident occurred despite the car having a recent annual inspection and software update. The sudden acceleration is not the only issue I have experienced with this vehicle. I have had additional safety concerns. The doors would lock, unlock and open by themselves while driving on the freeway. On May 2024, my dog was trapped inside when the doors locked automatically with my keys inside the car. What is worse is that now, on hot days, my car semi-stalls, when I am driving on toll roads or back country roads on the way home. It loses power or jerks. I have an hour commute each way and this is NOT okay. Frankly, it is very scary sometimes. I have reached out to the dealership to ask them if it's safe for me to drive my car or if there is something they could do and I am constantly told that there is no solution, I have to wait, and they "legally" cannot tell me that it is safe to drive my car. They offered the option to rent a car, but I would have to pay a minimum of $45 out of pocket, per DAY, and I cannot afford to do that! I am already paying $600 a month for this car, now they want me to pay an additional $1350-$1395 a month just so I can feel safe? This has been going on for roughly 7 months. Who knows how long a "solution" will take. 7 months x $1350 a month = I would be out almost $9500 on TOP OF my car payment with no end in sight. I feel like this is moving at a snails pace.
