On Wednesday 10/21 at approximately 11:30pm I was traveling on the Clearview Expressway. While changing from the middle last to the left lane at 20mph due to a construction merge with some traffic. When trying to accelerate the truck lost all throttle power and my speed quickly dropped to 12mph before throttle response came back. No noticeable or harsh change of gear for this episode.

The car directly ahead of me, by three car lengths began to decelerate quickly, and therefore I applied greater force to the brake pedal. It was at the very moment I applied greater brake force that the car actually began to accelerate, instead of slow down. This caused me to apply even more brake pedal downforce, and after what felt like all four wheels "shuddering", the can started to slow down and come to a stop. Other than the initial error message about the shifter in gauge cluster, there were no other error lights, sounds or messages when the unintended acceleration occurred. My local Ram dealer confirms that the repair parts (HCU/ABS module) are not available and that there is no estimated time frame for replacement. Impact This recall defect has made my vehicle effectively undriveable and unsellable. I have made multiple attempts to have it repaired, but the dealer and Stellantis representatives continue to tell me that parts remain on national backorder. As a result, I am deprived of the safe and normal use of my property. Under 49 U.S.C. § 30120, a manufacturer must provide a free and timely remedy for a safety defect. The ongoing delay and the lack of any interim solution (such as a loaner or disabling the alarm) clearly violate the spirit of this requirement and constitute a constructive deprivation of use. Requested Action I respectfully request that Stellantis: 1.Provide a functional remedy immediately (replacement HCU or equivalent). 2.If parts are still unavailable, provide a loaner vehicle, temporary compensation, or buyback option until the repair can be made. 3.Confirm in writing the expected date when replacement parts will be available for my VIN. As we entered a village, the posted speed limit was changed to 30 mph. The panel was perfectly visible and readable. The car did not register it and continued at 45 mph. I changed to mode to "sloth" and the car decreased its speed to 40 mph but I was still 10 mph above the legal speed limit. I came across a second 30 mph panel and again the car "ignored" it. Because I did not have the ability to manually reduce the speed of the car, I had to disengage FSD and drive the car by myself. Tesla claims FSD must be supervised. Fine. But removing the ability to manually change the speed of the car should be a requirement not a design preference.Read more

The Driver (my father) was hospitalized for four days. The vehicle was towed to a body shop and is currently under insurance inspection for total loss. This appears to be a case of Sudden Unintended Acceleration (SUA) possibly related to the vehicle’s electronic drive control system. The contact owns a 2005 Honda Pilot. The contact stated that shortly after refueling, the vehicle suddenly experienced unintended acceleration, causing the speed to increase to approximately 45 MPH while approaching stopped traffic. While pressing the brake pedal to avoid a collision, the vehicle continued to accelerate and crashed into the rear of a second vehicle. During the air bag deployment,
... the air was deflated, causing the driver's head to contact the steering wheel. Also, the contact indicated that metal fragments were present during the air bag deployment. The contact sustained a lacerated left wrist and lacerations to the chest area. The driver also sustained contusions and bruised to the head, ankles, and legs, along with neck and back stiffness, which will all require medical treatment. No other injuries were known regarding the second vehicle occupants. A Police Report was taken at the scene, and the vehicle was towed away. The cause of the failures was not determined. The manufacturer was notified of the failures, but no assistance was offered. The local dealer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 150,000.Read more

I'd like to report a safety issue related to the frequency of the adaptive cruise control system on my 2024 GMC Acadia. Upon inspection, it was determined that a rear differential mounting bolt had sheared, causing the differential to shift violently out of position. This sudden movement resulted in the driveshaft breaking, which further destabilized the vehicle and led to a severe and immediate loss of control. This failure occurred without warning and created an extremely dangerous situation. The sudden loss of drivetrain integrity at highway speed placed both myself and nearby motorists at serious risk of a crash. A component as critical as a differential mount or driveshaft should not fail under normal operating conditions. This incident strongly indicates a serious design or manufacturing defect affecting the vehicle’s powertrain and structural safety. Requested Action: I urge the NHTSA to investigate rear differential mounting and driveshaft failures on this vehicle model.
