While driving on the highway at 70 MPH on cruise control the ABS and Traction Control lights came on and the cruise control stopped working. There was a warning message to have the ABS system serviced. This happened again two days later. The lights did not come on after restarting the truck. I took it into the dealer and the codes were C0020-1C and C0020-16. The shop said the ABS pump and ABS
... control module need to be replaced. The control module has been out of stock for 3 years according to the parts department. Reconditioning is an option but the chip to fix the module is no longer available. This one dealer has close to 20 trucks waiting for this part. The 2017 and 2018 Ram 2500, 3500, 4500, and 5500 were recalled for the ABS, but not the 1500. From my research it seems like the same parts were involved in that recall. I have been in contact with Ram Customer Service and they are attempting to find a part, which I appreciate, but they admit that many are looking for the part and some have been waiting years. They tell me there was an issue with the original manufacturer and they had to redesign and remanufacture the part. It seems to me that this was a defective part and similar parts to this were involved in a recall of other models by the same manufacturer. I am willing to pay for the repair just to have a reliable and safe vehicle, but I would think a defective brake part should be involved in a recall. The other problem is the lack of available parts for multiple years.Read more

The likely failed component is the Electronic Steering Column Lock (ESCL). Associated systems include the steering column, BCM, and EPS motor. Yes, the vehicle and component are available for inspection upon request (Owner: [XXX] , [XXX] ). The safety of the owner and other drivers was put at risk by the sudden, unpredictable loss of steering control (locking mid-turn). This makes it impossible t
... o safely navigate curves or avoid hazards, leading to a high risk of a severe crash, injury, or fatality. The no-start condition also strands the owner. UNKNOWN. The report only states that the symptoms strongly align with an ESCL failure based on a diagnostic summary, but does not explicitly confirm a dealer or independent service center has reproduced or confirmed the specific ESCL component failure. UNKNOWN. The report does not mention inspection by the manufacturer (Nissan), police, or insurance representatives. The main warning symptom is the intermittent brake warning light (randomly turning on and off while driving, with no clear cause). The problems have been ongoing for the past year and appear to be worsened by the extreme heat in [XXX] . The vehicle generally does not display helpful diagnostic codes despite serious failures. The incident involves multiple, recurring, safety-critical failures in a 2021 Nissan Kicks, including the catastrophic loss of steering function while driving. The core issue is assessed to be a malfunctioning Electronic Steering Column Lock (ESCL). This failure causes the steering wheel to jam/lock, intermittent no-start conditions, and electrical inconsistencies (random brake light/lack of diagnostic codes). These failures are beyond the driver's control, unpredictable, and create an extreme safety hazard, rendering the vehicle unsafe to operate. SUMMARY OF PROBLEM: Vehicle experienced sudden uncontrolled acceleration and deceleration while driving on busy road with family as passengers on November 16 2025. Vehicle provided no warning before loss of control occurred. Created immediate risk of collision and serious injury. DETAILED DESCRIPTION: On November 16 2025 at approximately 5:25 PM ET, my 2025 Rivian R1S experienced sudden uncontr
... olled acceleration and deceleration while driving on a busy roadway. The vehicle began accelerating and decelerating erratically without driver input, creating immediate risk of rear-end collision or loss of control. No warning lights or messages appeared before the incident. The vehicle displayed "Thermal Fault Detected" and "Coolant Level Low" messages only after the erratic behavior began. This incident occurred with my family in the vehicle and created serious risk of injury or death. I was forced to have the vehicle towed. PRIOR RELATED INCIDENTS: This is not the first safety issue with this vehicle. Service Request SR-RAB3DU1AM documents "Emergency Braking Mistakenly Triggered on Regular Roadway" from August 29 2025 that remains unresolved in Rivian's system. The vehicle has required multiple service visits for thermal and cooling system failures at only 15000 miles. MANUFACTURER RESPONSE: Rivian service center claims rodent nesting caused thermal system failure leading to loss of vehicle control. If correct, this indicates critical design flaw - environmental factors should not be able to compromise vehicle control systems without warning or failsafe mechanisms. Vehicle lacks adequate: - Warning systems for thermal degradation before catastrophic failure - Failsafe mechanisms to prevent loss of control - Protection of critical systems from environmental factors SAFETY CONCERN: If thermal system damage can cause sudden loss of vehicle control without warning, this represents unreasonable safety risk. Other R1S vehicles may be at risk of similar failures.Read more

When using cruise control (traffic aware cruise control and autosteer) the car acts dangerously and stops for no reason. I've been driving on open roads with no traffic in front of me on regular roads, the car will slam on the brakes and it causes the people behind me to need to slam on their brakes as well. I feel like I'm going to get into an accident constantly... I was on the freeway and no o
... ne around in front of me and the car slammed on the brakes to almost a stop on a 70 mph speed limit road. Today the same thing occurred in high traffic on a 55mph road, luckily the driver behind me wasn't to close and was able to stop in time ... There is no option to use regular cruise control or disable enough features to prevent this from occurring... It's incredibly terrifying. If they can't do traffic aware cruise, there should be the option to do regular cruise... And it shouldn't require passing Tesla $8000 for full self driving to be able to drive your car at a speed without the that of being rear ended. This feels like extortion... I've submitted feature requests to Tesla, talked to their bot about fixing this and I've currently been on hold for almost an hour without any response. This dangerous tech is unacceptable!Read more

The transmission failed on my 2019 Nissan Rogue Sport. I was driving down the road and my car started to jerk and go faster and then slower while I was driving down the road at 55 miles per hour. I could not control the speed or the smoothness of the car operation. I had no warning light or any indication that this was about to happen. The warning light came on much later when I was at home.
... This is a problem that Nissan is well aware of and has done nothing to inform customers or mitigate the damage (in my case $6,599.40). There are many class-action lawsuits, but the one covering this car has already ended as on January 1, 2029. This problem tends to occur at about 80,000 miles, so I am maintaining that Nissan should reimburse me (my car had about 76,000 miles at the time). By cutting off the class-action lawsuit in 2020, no 2019 cars would have 80,000 miles on them. There is a class action lawsuit for another model that runs from 2014 to 2018, so they can honor requests on this model as well.Read more

I drive 20+ miles each way to work every day. Much of this drive is on highways, and currently the bridge connecting Ohio and Kentucky is down to three lanes with no berm. On a windy road with low visibility and a steep hill near my home, the car completely lost power and acceleration without any warning. I wasn't able to drive it completely off the road before it came to a stop and due to the los
... s of power was unable to move into neutral to push it and the hazards would not work. Thank God that this didn't take place on the bridge or with my family in the car. I made the decision to exit the car while it was still on the road and find a safe area in the grass where I could call for help. When I exited the vehicle, it locked me out and the only way to get in was through the driver's side door, which would put me back on the road in traffic and at risk. The electrical failure prevented me from opening the other doors. The car's complete system failure put my safety/life at risk and could jeopardize the lives of others if it wasn't investigated. To make matters worse when the tow truck came via OnStar they weren't equipped to move a car stuck in park or drive due to the electronic gear shift so they drug it with the tires locked onto the bed. After several days of testing the electrical system, the dealership found a loose wire and informed me that it had been fixed. I picked up the car and after a mile or so, the check engine light came on. I contacted the dealership to come pick it up and that's where it stands at the moment. My intention was to pass this on to my boys when they start driving, but this experience will alter that plan.Read more

I am reporting a major safety defect that began immediately after Tesla installed the Full Self-Driving (FSD) hardware upgrade on my vehicle. After paying $2,000 for FSD and receiving the hardware retrofit, the car now instantly veers left toward oncoming traffic whenever FSD is engaged. This began immediately after Tesla’s installation. Before this service, my vehicle operated safely. I have
... contacted Tesla Cherry Hill Service Center in New Jersey multiple times. The advisors there repeatedly told me to “just recalibrate the cameras from the touchscreen.” I’ve done this numerous times, following every instruction carefully, but the issue persists. When I called the Service Center, I was told that “everything looks fine remotely,” even though the problem continues and is clearly dangerous. I was also told they could take it for a test drive, but that if they couldn’t find anything, I would have to “wait for a future update” to make FSD usable. This is unacceptable and unsafe. Tesla delivered this car to me in a dangerous condition that could easily cause a serious crash. A car that steers itself into oncoming traffic under FSD control should never have been returned to a customer — especially one new to using FSD. I should not be responsible for any repairs, recalibrations, or diagnostics related to a defect introduced by Tesla. This issue appears to be the direct result of improper installation, misalignment, or faulty calibration following the FSD hardware upgrade performed by Tesla Cherry Hill. This poses a severe risk of collision and injury, and Tesla’s refusal to take responsibility or correct it under warranty demonstrates clear negligence and disregard for safety. Tesla Cherry Hill is also known for poor customer service and repeated dismissal of safety complaints from other owners, which further concerns me.Read more

1. The vehicle experienced a fuel injector failure, which is part of the engine fuel delivery system. This failure appears connected to an open Fuel System Control Unit Software Update Recall (Campaign 2024080006) that has been open since May 2024 but was not performed on my vehicle, despite the vehicle being serviced at the dealership in January 2025 for other recall-related updates. The failed i
... njector is still available for inspection upon request. 2. The vehicle began exhibiting symptoms of fuel system malfunction while driving, including rough idling, hesitation, and loss of power. A malfunctioning injector can cause the engine to misfire, stall unexpectedly, or run unpredictably, which creates a high-risk situation in traffic. This placed me, my passengers, and other drivers at risk, especially during acceleration or when merging into traffic. 3. Yes. The issue was diagnosed and confirmed by the Mercedes-Benz dealership, which stated that the injector had mechanically failed. The dealership also noted the open recall for the fuel system software update but claimed it was unrelated. I am seeking clarification because the timing and symptoms suggest there may be a connection. 4. The vehicle has been inspected only by the Mercedes-Benz dealership. Mercedes-Benz USA (MBUSA) has been contacted regarding the issue, but my case was closed without resolution and is currently awaiting review for reopening. MBUSA has not yet inspected the vehicle or the failed component directly. 5.Prior to the injector failure, the vehicle displayed engine hesitation, rough idling, and intermittent performance issues. Eventually, a check engine light illuminated. These symptoms began before the manufacturer-installed software update, and the issue appears to have worsened afterward.Read more

In 2024 Ford introduced a turn detection in the F-150 (and other Ford vehicles). This feature extends the adaptive cruise control which recognizes speed limit signs and dynamically adjusts the speed control to comply with speed limits. This added Turn Detection, detects curves that have the Yellow highway curve warning signs with the small orange suggested speed limit sign below and automaticall
... y slows the vehicle down to at or below the suggested corner speed. The vehicle slowly goes through the curve and then rapidly accelerates out of the curve back the set cruise speed. This causes a huge safety issue especially on highways with higher speed limits where the suggested corner speed is substantially below the general flow of traffic. First Example of safety issue: When driving on a highway with a higher speed limit (especially 60mph or higher) with cruise control set for example to 65mph (speed traffic is naturally flowing at), entering a corner with a suggested speed sign of 55mph causes the vehicle to brake unexpectedly bringing the vehicle from 65mph+ to 52mph rapidly. This unexpected braking cause vehicles following to be caught off guard and in multiple cases almost rear end my truck. Second Example of safety issue: When driving through canyon highways in Colorado where almost every corner has a suggested corner speed, the truck is constantly braking hard into corners and rapidly accelerating out of corners. With the corners so close together in these canyon highways it creates a situation where the truck becomes difficult to steer and keep on the road because of the numerous and rapid speed changes which is very dangerous in a canyon environment. This issue has been problematic since I purchased the truck new, this behavior is acknowledged by Ford when I took it into the dealership to get it addressed and they have indicated that the functionality is working correctly and there is nothing they can do to correct it even though it's a safety issue.Read more

I own a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD Duramax diesel with approximately 100,300 miles. The truck began displaying a “Service Emissions System” warning and a countdown message that in a certain number of miles the vehicle will be limited in speed (for example to 65 mph). GM’s own Duramax diesel owner’s supplement explains that when a “Service Emission System” message appears it is acc
... ompanied by a distance-until-speed-limit countdown and that the truck will progressively limit speed first to about 65 mph and then to about 55 mph if the condition is not corrected, telling the owner to see the dealer. This creates a safety risk because the derate can occur while driving on highways or rural roads, where an unexpected limit on maximum speed can interfere with merging, passing, and keeping up with traffic. This is our only vehicle, and we must use it for important medical appointments, including cardiology and surgery-related visits. The condition started only about 300 miles beyond GM’s 5-year / 100,000-mile powertrain warranty. I opened a case with Chevrolet / GM Corporate (Service Request No. XXX) and took the truck to Sons Chevrolet in Columbus, Georgia on November 17, 2025 for this issue and a rear wheel lockup recall. The dealer kept the truck from about 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and indicated they might need to keep it for at least two more days, but I was not given a clear written explanation of the diagnostic trouble codes or a firm repair plan. Because GM’s own manuals describe this “Service Emission System” message together with speed-limit countdowns, and because the vehicle can actively limit speed on the road if the fault is not resolved, I am concerned this represents a broader emissions/derate defect on late-model Silverado HD Duramax trucks. I request that NHTSA review similar complaints and consider whether further investigation or a safety recall is warranted. In November 2024, while driving, my jeep began to lose power. Accelerator was not working and pulled over. It turned on but would unexpectedly turn off whenever I would drive it. It was in the shop 4 months. Last week, Nov 2025, while at a stop light it completely stopped working. When I tried to accelerate it wasn’t working. Break pedal was hard and I could not turn it back on. Dash lights were
... on and tank had gas. Had to get it towed. Was told engine was in good shape. Still looking at starter issues.Read more

•The ABS system has failed in this vehicle. The cruise control has also failed. According to research, these are related. Diagnostics show a 2200 code “anti-lock brake module internal”. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. Internet research reveals that this is a very common failure with this vehicle. The parts are unavailable from Jeep/Chrysler and other suppliers. Module r
... ebuilding services such as Module Master cannot even refurbish these modules since the chips are no longer available. This leaves many Jeep/Chrysler vehicles either inoperable or on the road without ABS. •Without ABS, the safety of our family is at risk every time we drive since this important safety feature has failed and is irreparable. Anyone driving in the vicinity of any of these vehicles is also potentially at risk due to this system failure. •This problem is persistent and has been confirmed by advanced diagnostics (code 2200, see above). •The vehicle/ABS system has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others besides my neighbor, who assisted with diagnostics. •We were alerted to the failure by dash warning lights- the brake, ABS, and traction control lights are all illuminated. •In summary, this is a common failure for these Jeep/Chrysler vehicles which has been compounded by the manufacturer’s (and other’s) inability to provide repair parts to correct the failure. We respectfully request an investigation into this issue with a directive to the manufacturer to recall these vehicles.Read more

I have kept up on regular oil changes and maintenance on my Kia which I bought new 5 years ago. My issues started when my car's orange check engine light came on, I experienced loss of power such as difficulty accelerating even at low speeds, especially up hill. As soon as I was able I checked my oil which and there was nothing on the dipstick. I put in 3 quarts of oil. I brought it into my usual
... dealership for service and let them know about the oil issue and issues with power when driving. They failed to address the root cause of the issue, they performed an oil change, engine light turned off, and they started an oil consumption test. But when I drove off the lot the issue with the power continued, and the check engine light came on again. I took my Kia to another dealership to address the car's power issue and the first oil consumption test was not completed because it was unsafe to drive. When I brought my car in, the check engine light was not on, even though there were significant power issues. The dealership was able to confirm my concern, including loss of power and evidence of oil overconsumption. They replaced my turbocharger under warranty. I then underwent a 2nd oil consumption test that indicated overconsumption at a level of 1.5 quarts per 1000 miles. Then they performed a combustion chamber cleaning per Kia guidelines and a 3rd oil consumption test. They 3rd oil consumption results indicated overconsumption at a level of 0.75 quarts per 1000 miles. Although the dealership acknowledged this is still overconsumption, it was not to a level that required Kia to replace my motor. Meanwhile, after all these tests my car is close to out of warranty, at 98.6k miles. I called Kia customer care and their "resolution" to my case was the deny me a new engine and they would not provide me anything in writing. My car's overconsumption of oil and other signs of engine failure match the complaints found in class action settlements related to other Kia models.Read more

The speedometer will quit working and the vehicle will not shift out of 1st gear, if you can work through it it will start throwing error messages such as zero miles to empty, tire moniter system fault, etc. This is a very dangerous situation especially in high traffic areas. There was a customer satisfaction program on it but only up to 150,000 miles. This program should last the life of the v

Vehicle Information: 2014 Hyundai Elantra SE Sedan, 4-Cylinder, 6-Speed Automatic, FWD Build Location: USA-Built Version (Montgomery, AL - VIN '5NP') Ownership: Second owner, purchased Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) from the Hyundai of New Port Richey dealer (Florida) in March 2016. Vehicle is owned outright. Mileage: 128,638 Approximate Date Incident Noticed: October 1, 2025 DESCRIPTION OF CRITI
... CAL SAFETY DEFECT & WARRANTY REJECTION I am reporting a failure of the clock spring assembly, which compromises critical safety features and poses an unreasonable risk, especially since this vehicle regularly transports passengers, including children. My VIN was rejected by the Hyundai TXXA Clock Spring Extended Warranty validator despite exhibiting the exact failures covered by the campaign. Safety Failures: Airbag (SRS): Warning light is constantly illuminated; driver-side airbag is disabled and will not deploy, endangering the driver and front passenger. Horn: Completely inoperable, eliminating a vital safety communication feature required to warn other drivers. Cruise Control: Buttons on the steering wheel are non-functional. These failures are caused by a broken electrical connection within the clock spring (which typically runs the Airbag, Horn, and Cruise Control circuits). I believe the denial is related to my vehicle being the USA-Built version (VIN '5NP'). I request that NHTSA investigate why this safety campaign arbitrarily excludes USA-built Elantras (but not Korean-built) experiencing the identical failure, thereby placing an unreasonable repair cost burden on owners for a critical safety component.Read more
