I was sitting in the car with my daughter with the car in park, but the engine was on. Suddenly the engine started revving, and I thought her foot hit the peddle but it wasn't the case, and she had to turn the car off. I then got into the driver's seat and started the car again, and it did the same thing. I turned the car off and had to Uber home.

2011-2024 Jeep JKU ABS module failure with no resolution for repair, This is supplemental information to complaint 11717461k The supplemental information will be uploaded as a PDF file
Incident date: Oct 1, 2025
Jeep Wrangler JK ABS Module Issue: History, Stellantis Response, and Safety Concerns Background: The Discontinued ABS Module Problem Jeep Wrangler owners (particularly Wrangler JK models from 2011–2018) have been plagued by failures of the Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) control module – a critical component that controls the vehicle’s anti-lock brakes and stability control. The problematic pa
... rt is commonly referenced by Mopar part number 68259556 (with revisions AA, AB, AC, AD, AE for 2014–2018 Wranglers). In recent years, this ABS module was discontinued by the manufacturer and put on indefinite backorder, leaving owners unable to obtain a replacement when the unit fails. The issue isn’t isolated to just one part number or model – similar ABS module shortages and failures have been reported in other Stellantis vehicles (including later Wrangler JLs and even Ram trucks) as well. Stellantis (the parent company of Jeep, formerly FCA) has not provided new stock of the module for an extended period, creating a nationwide shortage that has frustrated many customers and raised serious safety concerns. Timeline of the Issue and Part History Owners and mechanics first began noticing ABS module availability problems around 2021–2022, coinciding with supply-chain disruptions and corporate changes. Mopar initially listed the Wrangler JK ABS module as on backorder, with projected availability dates that kept slipping (one OEM parts source in early 2022 noted the part was backordered with no firm ETA). By 2023, the situation worsened: dealerships reported that no new units were being produced at all, effectively discontinuing the part without warning. Supplier Fallout: According to insider reports on Jeep forums, the shortage stemmed from a supplier issue – the original ABS module supplier for Jeep/FCA stopped production (allegedly after Stellantis attempted to cut costs), and it took the company over half a year to find a new supplier. Some reports claim Stellantis “tried toRead more

On February 11, 2026, the 2025 Tesla Model Y "Vision AutoPark" system initiated an uncommanded high-speed reverse acceleration into a stationary yellow concrete bollard in a parking lot. The vehicle's vision-only parking assist hardware failed to detect a clearly visible, fixed obstruction and displayed a clear path on the system interface immediately before impact. No warning lamps, chimes, messa
... ges, or other alerts preceded the failure. The system provided zero indication of the imminent collision. The vehicle closed the distance to the bollard in under one second, exceeding human reaction time and making manual braking intervention impossible before impact. This failure mode — autonomous acceleration toward a stationary object without detection or warning — creates a severe crush hazard for pedestrians and property. The vehicle and its onboard data logs are available for inspection upon request. High-definition video evidence of the failure has been preserved showing the system ignoring the visible obstacle. The problem has not been confirmed by a dealer. The manufacturer's service center refused to inspect the vehicle or review data logs on the date of the incident despite an immediate in-person request. The vehicle has not yet been inspected by insurance, police, or the manufacturer. The failed component is the Tesla Vision-only AutoPark system, including its camera-based object detection and autonomous vehicle control software.Read more

Good morning, While driving and starting my Chevy Silverado 1500 with 3.0 durmax it will suddenly go into a “limp mode” reducing speed and power. Recently while driving on a highway it reduced engine power causing the vehicle to slow down suddenly with many cars speeding by. This caused me to try and pull over the vehicle and avoid hitting other vehicles. When pulling codes off the vehicle t
... here is a p1098 which refers to the engine coolant control valve. This will cause the vehicle to do the described power reduction. Upon researching the issue Gm has recognized and released a special coverage to fix the issue. N252508341. However my vehicles VIN does not pull up the coverage. All the characteristics of the coverage seem to fit the model and issues I have. It’s the same year, model, engine, etc. I’ve attached a DOT report of the special coverage. I’m hoping this will help fix my vehicle and others with this same issue. Although it’s not specifically listed as a safety recall, I feel the cause of the sudden power reduction is known by Gm and warranty issued and the problem should be resolved for all vehicles with this issue. While driving, the vehicle repeatedly hesitated during gear changes, lost power, and then abruptly jerked back into gear. This occurred intermittently for over a month without any warning messages, creating unpredictable and unsafe driving conditions. As the issue worsened, the vehicle began losing power more frequently. The most serious event occurred at highway speed, where the vehicle suddenly
... lost propulsion in the middle of active traffic, nearly causing a stall. This created an immediate safety hazard for myself and surrounding drivers. After several seconds, the vehicle violently re-engaged into gear and surged forward. Only at this point did the vehicle display a warning: “Powertrain Malfunction / Reduced Power.” I scanned the vehicle and retrieved DTC P0734 – Gear 4 Incorrect Ratio, a code associated with internal transmission faults. A dealership inspected the vehicle and reported that the CDF drum had failed. They stated they could not guarantee that replacing the drum would resolve all issues and provided two estimates: $5,600 for a partial internal repair/$8,700 for full transmission replacement. The 10R80 transmission has a documented history of failures, including harsh shifting, slipping, unexpected gear disengagement, and internal component defects. These issues are addressed in multiple Ford Technical Service Bulletins involving P0734, harsh/failed shifts, and failures related to the CDF clutch cylinder/drum. Many vehicles of the same make and model are covered under related recalls or service actions for similar problems; however, my VIN is not included, and Lincoln declined to honor the existing recall. This defect presents a serious safety risk due to: Sudden loss of power while driving, including at highway speeds, Unpredictable re-engagement and violent surging, Loss of propulsion without warning, leading to near-stall conditions. This powertrain malfunction is a known, unsafe, repeat issue among these vehicles equipped w/this transmission.Read more

My 2018 Ford F-150 experiences harsh, erratic, and unpredictable transmission shifting. The truck frequently hesitates during acceleration, followed by sudden and violent gear engagement. It also makes abrupt downshifts while driving, causing unexpected deceleration that can be dangerous in traffic. The truck will shift from 8th, 9th, or 10th gear down to 1st at highway speeds. This causes abrupt
... deceleration and significant loss of speed on the highway. On multiple occasions, the transmission has delayed engagement when shifting from a stop, creating hesitation when entering intersections or merging, followed by a sudden surge of power. This creates an unsafe driving condition and increases the risk of rear-end collision or loss of control. The shifting behavior is inconsistent and unpredictable, occurring during both in traffic and highway driving. The problem is worsening over time. Given the frequency and severity of these events, I believe this transmission behavior represents a significant safety defect that should be investigated for potential recall or corrective action.Read more

Driver was in parking space/nearly fully parked (her foot was on the brake coming to a full stop and about to place the car in park), when the car’s self drive function or cruise control engaged on its own. It then rolled up the hill, and into the trees. Thankfully no one was hurt (3 people in the car - 2 adults and 1 child) and the car stopped while leaning on a tree, otherwise it would have r
... olled over. She never uses cruise control, nor any of the self drive functions on the car at all. In her words, the car was “unstoppable”. The speed of the car at that time was a near crawl into the space, ready for a full stop. When the self drive/cruise control engaged, the car jumped over the curve in front of the parking space on its own. No button was pressed by the driver, nor should any self drive feature of the car engage while the car was nearly parked. Additionally, while manually parking, the 360 degree parking camera was on, yet the car still engaged in self drive. Luckily, no other person nor vehicle was in front of the car when this happened. There was a post collision warning light (note, the airbags did not deploy), but we have asked the certified collision center to review the alerts to confirm what may have triggered. The BMW app never showed that the car was in a collision, and to-date still does not. The car is now with the collision center for an estimate (via insurance company), and the process has already started with BMW Consumer Affairs regarding safety issues with this automobile. We have also formally requested that BMW downloads all information regarding the collision from the Event Data Recorder (EDR). The police was not involved in the incident, since no one was injured. NHTSA indicates there have been similar incidents/recalls reported for the BMW IX from 2022 -2024 models, but no recall for the 2025 model - although the incidents are also reported for this model. [XXX] [XXX] , [XXX] [XXX] 2/7/26 To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to formally express my concern regarding ongoing, critical safety issues with my vehicle, which have been increasingly dangerous while driving. These issues appear to be interconnected and involve multiple components, including the valve body, transmission, TCM, ABS module, ECM, and throttle body. These problems have posed s
... ignificant risks to my safety and the safety of others on the road. On several occasions, while driving at highway speeds (approximately 70 mph), the traction control and ABS warning lights have illuminated, and the vehicle has suddenly lost acceleration. This malfunction seems to cause the car to change gears unexpectedly or, in some instances, stop accelerating altogether. As a result, I have been forced to pull over to the side of the road in order to perform a YouTube-suggested reset just to get my vehicle back in motion. This situation has nearly led to accidents, as I have found myself stranded in traffic, unable to accelerate, or worse, pulling into traffic where the car fails to accelerate, almost causing collisions with other vehicles. Additionally, during colder weather, I have experienced issues with the throttle, where it becomes erratic and unresponsive. Despite having multiple repairs made, the problem persists, and I have observed that the throttle may either rev unexpectedly or fail to shift at all. While I understand that some repairs have been made, I am deeply concerned that the vehicle's ongoing malfunctions are indicative of serious safety hazards, which should be addressed by a professional dealership, at no cost rather than being dismissed with the assertion that "it won’t hurt anything." Given the potential for life-threatening incidents and the fact that I have already had several close calls, I strongly urge that these issues be diagnosed and rectified by a certified dealership or technician. , ran out of spac INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(Read more

The frunk latch on the vehicle becomes faulty and does not recognize the hood being latched and secure when it is. While driving, the vehicle without warning will immediately limit speed to 26mph regardless of existing vehicle speed. This has occurred multiple times when driving on the highway with the vehicle immediately decelerating and then saying the hood (frunk) is open. This poses a serious
... danger to not only the occupants of the vehicle but also those around them on the highway. This occurred when traveling at highway speed in the middle lane. This resulted in the inability to change lanes to pull off the highway due to the drastic reduction in speed in reference to the other vehicles on the highway causing a high stress and high risk situation for the driver and occupants.Read more

So back in September of 2023 there was a recall 248 on my 2023 Hyundai Elantra hybrid Limited. This was before I bought the car. I bought it used at a local dealer according to the Carfax and everywhere I look up it says this issue has been fixed on September 14th of 2023. I'm still experiencing the same issue I wouldn't have even known about the recall from before if I didn't have the issue. Now
... I'm wondering before I take it to a dealer to have it fixed will be covered since it's not fixed. Or no because it was already done supposedly. Just curious thank youRead more

On 11/22/18, Thanksgiving Day, I was driving our 2 year-old Ford Lariat F-150 Supercrew alone on a backroad in Northern Colorado. I was going approx., 65MPH when out of nowhere the truck downshifted from 6th to 2nd gear and caused the truck to lockup, slam me into the drivers seat, and stop in the middle of a thankfully empty road. The engine made a popping sound. The truck made creaking noises fr
... om the wheels as I drove it home. It immediately started leaking oil. I took the truck that was still under warranty to the local dealer we bought the truck from the following week as it was a holiday, where I left the truck for a few days, and upon pickup, was told my concerns could "not be replicated" other than an oil leak. I spoke to the 'managers' in a backroom who were 2 men who LITERALLY told me I just needed to learn how to drive my truck better. I asked them if they had actually driven the truck to LISTEN to what a truck still under warranty sounded like after it how downshifted for no logical reason and dead stopped in the road after locking up. They did not. I told them I thought they wiped the codes and were relying on computers to diagnose issues and if Ford knew they had a problem and were hiding it, and people died, Ford would be sued. True story. I reported this to the FBI due to the response because it was disturbing. I know what happened to me when our truck downshifted. If I was on the highway people would have died. Period. I have 10 years worth of documents and all the Ford notes on everything that went wrong with the truck after that catastrophic event. I have 4 official complaints filed with Ford Corporate starting in early Feb., 2019 through late 2025. Shoutout to FormulaFord Rutland for being kind and ethical. I have pictures and video of our truck acting like "Christine" because the software goes haywire when it feels like it. I have the oil leaks and sounds from the wheels recorded on video. When driving, between the speeds of 40-50mph, the wheels would lock up without warning. This happened 4 times during the month of January, sometimes in 4wd. This occurred at speed when the vehicle seemed to be upshifting. Control of the vehicle would be lost during the lockup as the wheels would stop rotation entirely and rather violently. Check engine light came on after the 4th incident, reducin
... g power and a code of P0747 "Pressure Control Solenoid "A" Stuck On". The transmission valve body was repaired by the local Chevrolet dealership under powertrain warranty. This is a known issue on previous years of this truck with the same transmission but has not been expanded to cover this vehicle. Thankfully, I was able to maintain contorol and was not in traffic when this occurred. I notified the dealer that the vehicle was shifting very hard during the last visit but no codes or issues were found at that time indicating an issue.Read more
