I bought my 2015 Chevy Malibu in 2016 at 36k miles. No wrecks, 1 owner before myself. No warning lights on when driving from the lot and the car was just what I wanted… tho always a little doubtful because it was pre owned 1) there was always this random, unusual, indescribable smell from the vents where I couldn’t breathe but no one else could smell or experience it. I just kept getting sick
... . 2) I thought “MY” first 30k miles or so was rolling too fast and 3-5 months in, the ENGINE light popped on. Immediately took it to Chevy who said my engine light was on due to an “airbag” but wouldn’t tell me which unless I paid 70$. 3) Still, driving was not affected so I kept taking it to the Chevy dealer every 3-6 months for the proper maintenance. About 2 years in I go for an oil change at CHEVY: one guy pours RADIATOR fluid in my OIL compartment during the oil change. Just before he realizes it’s the wrong thing and looks to see if I saw, I alert the manager who immediately drains the oil and says it won’t be affected.. and assures me everything is fine. 🤷🏽♀️ 4) 4 years ownership, the service stability track message started appearing and the ENGINE POWER REDUCED SPEED LIMITED TO 25 MPH starts popping up on the screen and simultaneously the car DANGEROUSLY goes from highway speed to 25mph. ONLY Jesus mercy! That’s a death trap in itself. Still no recalls and no help. Temp fix (get to safety, turn off vehicle, wait 30 sec-1 min and restart) 5) At 150k miles, I returned to get transmission flush.change.check whatever the best procedure was. Chevy says, I wouldn’t because it doesn’t have to be serviced on these vehicle. yet they send me coupons for trans services. 6)JUST put on new tires, oil, oil cabin, and engine filters changed. Upon reading the code via the OBD2 code reader, the following DTC were noted: p0720 output shaft speed sensor circuit; p0722 Output Shaft speed sensor circuit no signal; U0401:00-0B Invalid Data received from ECM/PCM A; B00A0:68-8B - Occupant Classification System; U0401:68-0B Invalid data received from ECM/PCM A; U0401:00-0A. Safety risk was the sudden down shift while going at normal speed or flow of traffic. Sudden downshift can result into a rear end collision. The vehicle has not been inspected since the malfunction however, through research of TSB 19N01 and contacting the dealership, it was determined that the extended warranty did not apply due to the mileage exceeded the 150,000 therefore I ended up buying and fixing my own vehicle with current mileage of 163421.4 at completion. This vehicle was also recalled for 19NS19 because of 6R80 transmission. I am unsure if this warrants another recall however, it is my belief that it should be looked at again.Read more

From my experience of owning other cars, if your car is running low on oil, a warning light comes on and stays on until the oil is changed. Not this car, only this one second. I was heading into nyc and I just prayed my car wouldn’t shut down on me again until I got to my destination. Luckily got home safe and made an appointment to a mechanic. They told me my car consumes more oil than the average car and therefore I would have to change it more frequently. This is the reason my car malfunctioned. How is this safe? Especially that the car doesn’t give a warning, this has given me so much anxiety. I could have gotten into a major accident. ... ccelerating. This is a constant problem. It barely moves then all of the sudden it will take off, causing the wheels to spin out and your head to hit the headrest. This is extremely dangerous and has almost caused multiple accidents for me. I took the vehicle in to service and they stated that the Emission pump valve was stuck open, causing it to drive badly. The pump was replaced at around 6,000 miles. The car continued to drive badly and at approx 7,000 miles, I was accelerating from a stop when the car began to shake again and would not accelerate. The check engine light began flashing and the start/stop error message appeared. I pulled over and turned off the car. I turned it back on and the engine light went off but the start/stop still did not work. I brought it to the dealer and they confirmed additional engine misfires. The dealer cleared the codes and advised me to use premium gas. The Taos is supposed to run on 87, not premium. There are multiple online forums for Taos Owners. A concerning amount of people have complained about these exact same issues with their vehicles and that VW's "fix" is to run premium gas. This vehicle seriously needs to be looked into, as it is posing a serious safety hazard to all involved.Read more

Unfortunately, when I pressed the gas pedal, we experienced complete vehicle failure. I had no steering, brakes, or acceleration. Within a short time (30-45 minutes), we had no power as the lights on the vehicle, and all electrically powered devices and components were entirely out. This made it very difficult to tow the car as it is all-wheel drive, and we could not put it in Neutral to pull the vehicle. As this happened, five cars were in the area, and several had to swerve and fly off the road onto the dirt shoulder. We barely missed the car in front of us, and the car behind us had to lock up its breaks not to hit us. Our car gradually slowed down and cost off the road about 50 yards or so after losing power, as it was very difficult to get the vehicle to steer; it took everything I had to turn the wheel to get it off the road. We put on the emergency blinkers, but the vehicle lights flashed erratically inside and outside the car. We had over a dozen warnings flash on our dashboard about vehicle failure. The speakers in the car were making a thumping sound on their own as the car was flashing headlights, brake lights, and flashers on their own and very sporadically. It was like a disco club in the car as all the lights were flashing on and of at a rapid rate. ... of lunging forward unexpectedly. About 15-20 seconds after the gas pedal is pressed it will have a sudden burst of quick acceleration. It only lasts a few seconds and there’s no time to correct the sudden acceleration by braking. I finally realized the seriousness of the issue after I very close to being in an accident today as a result of the delayed acceleration. I was stopped at a red light and pressed the gas once it turned green, another driver happened to change lanes as soon as we crossed the intersection, moving to the front of my vehicle, probably closer than they should have but more than able for me to react under normal circumstances if needed. However, it occurred at the same time my vehicle randomly had a burst of acceleration and I had to swerve into the next lane to avoid hitting the car, because I wasn’t expecting to speed forward and did not have time to correct by braking. It happens about 40% of the time when going over 15-20mph (estimate) after I come to a complete stop and then press the gas to begin moving again. For example it won’t do it if I’m letting off the break to movie forward at a stop sign or lines, etc. It only happens when I accelerate with the intention of being able to reach the posted speed limit before I’d need to make another stop. The failed component is a small wheel speed sensor on the rear axle. The problem has been reproduced with three separate speed sensors, two OEM sensors and one after market. I have had the vehicle inspected by a Ford dealership for the issue. Issues prior to the first replaced sensor was the sensors have issues with cold climate. When snow or ice is on the roadway, the sensors have issues and disable all the above features. I passed by that day around 4 pm to see what was going on. They had not checked it yet which is understandable we ask the guy when he thought it would be checked out and he responded that towed vehicles take longer to be checked, we asked for a loner and they said they did not have. Saturday 10/15/22 went again, the car was still in the same spot not looked at yet, today 10/19/22- 1 week and 1 day they have not checked the car and we were told they had a lot of cars to work on and we were far down on that list. So basically they will probably take 2-3 weeks to even look at it and if any parts are needed it would probably take another month and without a loner. So we the paying clients have to figure it out. This is very unacceptable not to mention how scary it was for the car to completely give out on a hill thank god no one was driving or walking behind me. The transmission had to be fully replaced, which cost over $7k. The replacement was done. This seems to be a common issue (Transmission replacements) with this vehicle as now we're hearing more about it. PLEASE check this as we could have easily been in an accident from the loss or increase of power without notice and NO WARNING lamp indications. This was a very expensive repair caused by the manufacture and not user error. We paid a lot for this particular vehicle and certainly love it but am concerned about this expensive safety/mechanical issue. I immediately put on my hazards lights to signal to other drivers that I was having mechanical problems. Thank GOD I was able to pull over without anyone hitting me from behind. I have had major major issues with this car since I purchased it the engine seized up on me in the same manner back in 2020 and the engine was replaced. Then there was an issue with the transmission and that was also replaced. Then the brake booster also failed and had to be replaced as well. Hyundai aught to be ashamed of the production of this vehicle as it is truly a severe risk to the lives of the consumers not just the person who is driving this vehicle but also to those who may be behind someone driving as this could cause a major accident and people could be killed. These cars need to be recalled and they need to get down to what is causing these issues in order to fix the problem. I pray that you all make Hyundai do a recall on this vehicle as I have googled and see that there has been many others that have encountered these same issues. ... ighway and out of nowhere the car lost speed and I could not accelerate. I could've easily been hit by another driver going the regular speed limit. I drove it to the dealership that just happened to be down the street, and the car struggled to accelerate from a complete stop, as well as in general. From a complete stop, the car would sputter and jerk when pressing on the gas pedal. The dealership diagnosed it as a faulty Knock Sensor. They said they would replace the sensor as it was still under warrenty. When I left the dealership, the check engine light was off and the car was driving fine. Fast forward to the next day, I was driving again on a highway at about 65mph, when the SAME thing happens. The car stuttered, lost all acceleration, and the check engine light was flashing. I ended up driving it home (about 10 miles away) and the whole time I could not go faster than 30mph without the car shaking. This time the car would not go higher than 1.5rpms. I checked the engine at home and a P1326 code came up, which is a code for the Knock Sensor. I called the Hyundai dealership that I originally went to and they said there was nothing they can do about it at the moment since they had just replaced it. I picked up vehicle on Sept. 2 and along the way home all of a sudden my car went from 70 mph to a sudden halt! I managed to move off the freeway after almost being rear ended and stopped the car. Frantically I called dealership but they were already closed for the day. Once my fiancé showed up he was able to get it to go into drive but the max speed was around 15 mph which he drove to our house which was about another 7-8 miles as I followed in his vehicle. Had car towed to dealership next day on Sept. 3. Finally on 16th of Sept. I was told a new transmission was needed, which was going to be on back order. Now, as of Nov. 6, 2022 I am still waiting for my car to be fixed and returned to me. So in summary, my 2021 Kia Sorento which is barely a yr old and a little over 10,000 miles is waiting to have the transmission replaced. My Promaster happened to come with adaptive cruise control. This post is regarding the implementation of the intelligent speed assist feature which can automatically adjust the max speed of the van based on traffic signs it recognizes. The manual says that "the message in the instrument cluster display will indicate the new detected speed limit by suggesting the driver to press "RES" to accept it." Where the manual says the instrument panel prompts the user to press a button to accept the suggested speed, I recall my instrument panel requiring me to press a button to dismiss the accepted speed. If I didn't see the prompt to dismiss the new speed, I recall the van automatically changing speeds. I recall mine switching speed on several occasions, automatically, without having to press anything, which resulted in some dangerous moments when traveling 65 MPH on the highway and the van detecting a 25 MPH sign for an off-ramp and slamming on the brakes. I am wondering if it is implemented backward in my van. I recall it saying "dismiss" where the manual says it should say "accept". The manual describes the system working in a way that makes more sense to me and is opposite of the way I recall mine working. In the manual it describes the system making a suggestion to change based on the sign but requires user input to actually accept it. ... codes ran came back telling me something about Throttle body So I purchased a whole new throttle body in Prosser at dealership costing me some booko buks and swapped it out when I got back home I then took it for test drive along with my 4 kids in the vehicle with me and then a little ways about 20 mins driving engine power reduced light came on along with stabilitrak and eventually lost power I was stranded in the middle of summer in the middle of nowhere with my kids windows rolled down ppl drove by and asked if I needed help and eventually came back with jumper cables tried to jump me but the car wouldn't budge I then left the car there overnight and took battery out to have it inspected the next day IT WAS FRIED (over 4 yrs old) so I had to purchase a new one costing me roughly 150 buks then took it back to where my car was stranded put it in and alarm went off and I clicked the button on key ring stuck it in ignition shit the door behind me locking keys in car while vehicle was still running and had to bust a window out to get to em. Got into car drove off made it back to my apt left it running outside while I went inside to get some stuff before I THOUGHT the problem was solved it shut off again.....I then had to replace the alternator costing me another pretty penny....about a couple weeks later I was starting a new job at a assisted living facility and arrived 10 mins early shit car off a noticed smoke coming from under hood I was confused because where the smoke was coming from couldn't have been it overheating I popped the hood and my car was on fire!!!!Read more

I've replaced O2 sensors camshaft sensors gaskets in catalytic converter had it inspected thinking it was a clogged exhaust the excessive oil usage was insane I would be going through 5quarts twice a month! I literally can't keep a job because I DONT HAVE RELIABLE transportation....I've put sooooo much money into this vehicle and now I might have a blown gasket!!! And that's because I haven't even been driving the vehicle. I got the car on Jan 7th 2021 with 129,043 miles on it as of today it has a total of 164,627 miles on it meaning in between the two years that I've owned the vehicle I have only put a total of 35,584 miles on it.....for it to have this many problems for so little mileage is INSANE!!! my kids were in the car with me today when the car started smoking like crazy from under hood and exhaust I pulled over turned the car off and took my baby off car seat in all and got away from vehicle thinking it was on fire again.
