I started to having "Faulty Restrain system fault" around 49k miles on Tesla Model 3. Error pop up "service needed". Consult Tesla for repair. First they ask for $384 for repair harness wires attach for driver front seat. Upon checking warranty on Tesla.com, it provides 60000 miles and 5 years warranty for Restrain System coverage so tesla agrees to fix error for "$0". Upon taking car for
... repair, I was informed I had rodent cause damage (chewed) wires and it's not cover. I had to pay $180 for repair. I live in Phoenix city and where I live we don't have any problem with rodents. It's very shocking to learn that rodent get access to underneath of Tesla and can chewed on wires. Why wires are not covered with better material rather than cheap plastic tapes. Those wires play significant role in vehicle safety as far as restrain system is concern. Question is why Model 3 is so inferiors in quality and design that rodent get access to the wiring. Error cause many driving problems with air bags not working and causing speeding errors. I have read on Tesla Motor Club blog and many customers are experiencing same problem. What I don't understand is why they aren't willing to at least provide a free ECM software update since this is likely an issue that existed in the software from the time it was manufactured. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 12V305000 (Vehicle Speed Control). The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that they would send a field inspector to retrieve the Event Date Recorder (EDR) in order to determine the cause of the failure. About a month ago, I was in a similar situation on the road when I was decelerating and applying the brake that the car had a rapid unintended acceleration that caused me to press very hard on the brake pedal to keep the car from lurching forward. I’ve owned the vehicle since December 2012 and this situation has probably occurred less than 5 times over the 10 years of operation. Each time I thought it was perhaps my error for somehow touching the accelerator with my foot while the brake was applied. Cruise control on the 2022 Kona is not viable. In the standard cruising gears the cruise control is unresponsive for a long duration resulting in reductions of speed of up to 11 MPH at highway speeds, in traffic. ... PM, not any acceleration, so it felt like we were only coasting. It lasts longer than a normal shift, more than a few seconds, before power is sent to the wheels again. On two of the occasions there was oncoming traffic approaching the intersection. If the power had died any sooner in the turn I'm not sure I would have cleared the intersection in time with what little speed I had gained, increasing the risk of collision. I am taking the car to the local Chrysler dealership tomorrow for inspection and hopeful diagnosis/repair. I can't replicate the issue on demand, but after 3 separate occasions, it is an unmistakable feeling. Based on the clunky, jerking shifting into gear that sometimes occurs with the vehicle outside the above-described incidents, I believe it might be transmission related, but I can't be sure.Read more

... t 2020 and was taken to the local Ram dealer in September 2020 when it was diagnosed as a defective 68143491aa hydraulic control unit module. After a three week lead time, the module was replaced under warranty with 12116 miles on the vehicle and the problem disappeared. Two years later in July 2022, the same warnings began intermittently with the same disabling safety issues at 24000 miles. On 10/19/2022, the Ram dealer diagnosed the problem as "Abs Control Module 68143491aa Has Internal Short. Part Is On Backorder With No Eta". I have repeatedly checked on the status of the part with the Ram dealer resulting in the same "Backorder with No ETA" response. In November 2022, I filed a formal complaint with Ram Cares. They have provided the same response "Unplanned resource requirement resulting in supply disruption. No firm ETA to provide at this time. Working to improve". This failure is a safety issue, not just an inconvenience and annoyance. My Ram 2500 is periodically used to haul a 10000lb trailer. The sudden loss of cruise control, stability control , and antilock brakes could cause and accident resulting in property damage and injury or death.Read more

They said to call the local dealership to get recall fixed and have them look at the engine. I called the dealership first thing the next morning. He said the first available appointment would be Dec 28th. They no longer have a loaner program so I had to contact Chrysler cares back regarding rental. I sent them a message asking about a rental. They recommended I try to find an appt at another dealership. They also stated they couldn't speak to if it was safe to drive the van until seen at the dealership. On Friday Dec 9, I had to use the van. It stalled 5 times. I was able to get it off the roadway and restarted immediately. I contacted Chrysler again to request they contact the dealer to try to get me in sooner and they need to provide me a rental. This is a huge safety concern, and this is an issue that has been impacting their vans for a long time now. Dec 3rd- we attempted to remove and reapply the gas cap to see if engine light would go off and error messages would resolve. It did not. We did not drive the car that day. Dec 4 and Dec 5th- all above error warnings display all day. Dec 6th- We scheduled a service appt at Mercedes in Sarasota, FL for the 1st avail appt Dec 10th. We were told in writing the car could be driven until the appt and no additional issues should arise. Dec 7th- new error code appears… 5-REVERSING NOT POSSIBLE - SERVICE REQUIRED. This is when the car put our lives at risk. While driving, the car shifted itself into Nuetral. We were unable to get the car into gear as it continued to roll. Having no control of acceleration, we guided the car to the right to allow traffic to pass. We put the car in park, shut down the vehicle, wait 15 minutes, and restart. We were then able to drive forward, but WHILE MOVING, “REVERSING NOT POSSIBLE” reappeared, the car shifted itself into neutral again. We were unable to shift to DRIVE. We shut the car car down again, started it, shifted to drive, but it went into DRIVE 2 only. We drove in 2nd gear until we were safe off the road and home. We towed the car (12/7 evening) to Mercedes in Sarasota FL. Dec 8th: Service dept finds the two front wheel speed sensors failed and caused a chain reaction sequence of events. The 2020 Honda Pilot was approximately 10 feet behind another vehicle parked against the curb. With the brake pedal being depressed, as one does when parking, the 2020 Honda Pilot suddenly accelerated and struck the rear of the other vehicle, driving it over the curb and into the yard of a house. The automatic braking system was never deployed. These incidents happened, almost exactly, one year apart on clear summer days when the temperature and humidity were almost identical. The 2020 Honda Pilot was inspected by a private crash expert company to obtain any crash data but found none, as the data is not recorded unless the air bags are deployed. An incident was reported to Honda who had a representative drive the 2020 Honda Pilot and "could not replicate the sudden acceleration". All safety features were running at the time of both crashes. They said the rear is failing, and that may be part of the problem with sluggish acceleration. 3) Transmission: Sluggish acceleration is this ZF 9 speed (outsourced) by Honda issue. I will be accelerating on the freeway, and all of the sudden, it would down shift to like second gear, causing me to slow down suddenly. Dangerous if cars are behind in rush hour. I also had 4 incidents where I could have lost my life because I could not accelerate (the gear would not engage). Dealer informed me that all of the updates are uploaded, and it should be okay. But it's not okay when you are carrying your children, spouse, or co-workers. I have informed the dealer many times that this car is not safe. I personally ran a business as Tier 1 supplier to Honda and visited many Honda factories. Nothing ever got done. It will be too late before they can help us. Car was stopped at a stop sign. When it was clear I attempted to proceed and turn left. The car began to roll then wouldn't accelerate causing me to block both lanes with oncoming vehicles. The rpms revved and the car wouldn’t move. Finally, the car started to go forward and without me pressing the gas it accelerated. I reported the situation to the Nissan Dealer and the Nissan Consumer repair.
... The mechanic at Nissan said the code is the transmission "death code." The simply said the car has over 84,000 miles so they would not be responsible for the repair. When I told them the situation, they did not discuss safety issues. I asked the man at Nissan Consumer Affairs if the life expectancy of a 2016 Nissan transmission was 108,000 miles. He said Nissan was not responsible for vehicle safety after 84,000 miles. He gave me a case number and and hung up. The car is set at a speed for cruise control. For no reason it loses power, after a while it returns speed as set. At the beginning the doors weren’t working for locking and unlocking by the handle. ... n park and recrank the car, multiple people have almost ran dead into the back of my car. They basically told me it is no way to fix my car. Now, it has caused more problems. My car is now saying “engine power reduced” and “service brake assist” when I try to press the brakes, it’s literally almost impossible. I have to almost stand on the brake and it still does not stop all the way. My brakes are new btw, so it shouldn’t still have this error message. I’m basically driving a lemon. This car is not reliable at ALL. I have put so much money into this car and with it being a 2016, you would think it wouldn’t have all of these problems… the car just jerks when I’m driving and nobody can seem to fix it! Oh, and let me not forget about the fuse that blew in my USB ports causing me not to be able to use all the features of my vehicle. This car is a nightmare.
