There seems to be a huge ongoing problem with ABS pumps and control modules for this model vehicle. I can find pages and pages of issues online for the same truck. The 'service brakes' warning comes on and off intermittently and I managed to replicate the fault after several months long enough to get it diagnosed. And no guarantee the delivery date won't creep again. This is unacceptable for a safety critical component and clearly shows a fundamental flaw with the parts as they can't seem to make them faster than they are failing. The local Toyota dealer will not inspect without a $175 fee even though it passed the last safety check fully, is under warranty and I’ve provided exact date/time stamps of when this occurs and have dash cam footage showing the conditions and delay in acceleration. I used Autopilot on my Model 3 for the first and only time a few weeks ago, and had a terrifying experience with "phantom braking" that could have killed my entire family while going ~75mph on the I-5 near Bakersfield, CA. The I-5 here is split with 2 lanes in each direction, and is straight with no bends. I was driving in the right northbound lane, with Autopilot engaged (adaptive speed control o
... nly, no automatic lane-steering). My right foot was off both pedals and two hands were on the wheel. There were no other cars in sight except for a single car driving northbound behind me in the left lane. This car began to pass me on the left, and when its front bumper was aligned with the mid-point of my car (I could just barely see the front bumper through the corner of my eye), my Tesla suddenly automatically slammed on the brakes with absolutely no warning! I immediately clenched the wheel as hard as I could, and had to quickly respond to prevent the wheel from automatically veering to the left. While fighting the wheel to try to keep the vehicle straight, and my family hanging on for their lives, we screeched to a grinding halt at a 45 degree angle facing the left lane. We were extremely lucky to not hit the passing car and fortunately there were no vehicles behind us. I disengaged Autopilot and quickly got out of there so we weren't vulnerable. I speculate that the camera on the left panel between the driver and rear door saw the passing car, and wrongly invoked automatic evasive braking and steering maneuvers in response to a falsely anticipated head-on collision. That's the only reasonable explanation I can come up with. I will not use Autopilot again until "phantom braking" is eliminated. This is a known issue that I've since found mentioned all over the Internet by other Tesla owners. This needs to be fixed hastily before people are killed! We bought it from Century 3 Kia West Mifflin, PA. After their promises that the engine would get replaced, lack of communication, many of my calls,voicemail, emails and showing up in person,(had to move 2 things that would've been in the way of the swapping of the engine) and a week later Kia denied my replacement due to "power adders". None of which I have, use or cause any issues. NO TESTING WAS DONE ON WHAT THEY THOUGHT WAS POWER ADDERS. HOWEVER, ALL OF THE TESTS THAT SHOW THEIR FAULTY ENGINE COMPONENTS AS PERR THE FEDERAL LAWSUITS AND RECALLS.....ALL FAILED! I can't drive the car. It's dangerous for myself and any other motorist. Could explode, catch fire or completely fail on ANY highway/roadway. I need my car for my career and above all, my life sustaining health and medical appointments Now I'm left with no vehicle. I still owe around a year- year and a half. As well as car insurance. Now what? I took my car in for minor service (for adjustment and stern issue) shortly after purchasing and mentioned this to the Tesla service Center representative. She said to me, “oh yeah, it does that sometimes. You have to be ready to take over.” Even being poised and ready to take over, I fear my reflexes will not be fast enough if there were someone traveling behind me at 60 mph. and it certainly isn’t how cruise control should work. I have a second service appointment, and actually noted the phantom braking (I subsequently learned this is what it’s called after googling, “random, braking with no threat Tesla model Y 2023”) on my service request to ensure that it has been documented because it’s a problem. The distance travelled from start to finish was to the best of my very rough guesstimate 60ft to 70 ft. My repeated attempts at slamming the brakes did not stop the car. The airbags deployed. •With the impact the car was completely totaled •The front right wheel broke free and hit the rear fender of a car parked in the Parking Garage in P2. - No one in the parking garage was impacted My wife was in great pain and very shaken. She was helped out of the car by a good Samaritan. Lincoln Square security reached us almost immediately. We called 911 and the fire brigade and police came to the accident site within minutes. The police inspected the vehicle and filed a case report. Post the accident, I took my wife to the ER. She was badly bruised with the impact of the air bags and seat belt restraint. We continue to get treated to manage the pain and the bruising. The experience was a horrific one and my wife has been badly impacted …it will take time for her to begin driving again. I was able to make to my next complete stop in a left turning lane to cross a two lane busy highway that is coming downhill towards me at an intersection that does not have a traffic signal. However the car was stuck in gear 5. I was the first car in line. At this point I put other cars in danger as they swerved back into the high way to get around me into the intersection to make that left turn across busy highway. I turned the car completely off and after a minute turned it back on. I put in drive, waited until I couldn't see any cars coming down the hill and I pressed the gas pedal to test. It jerked forward and I managed to get across the highway as it shifted into the second gear it jerked violently and made a loud popping noise and there after every single gear change was loud and jerky. Thank God I did not lose the ability to accelerate in that left turn because those cars are coming at 70+ miles per hour Down that hill or my family would have been t-boned on their passenger side. I am also lucky that I was able to get off the nearest exit when they problem originally happened as I was going downhill on the interstate and the next exit was very close so my momentum got me there. I am writing to express my concerns regarding the recall repair performed on my 2015 Hyundai Tucson on October 5th, 2022. I have received numerous letters from Hyundai regarding an open recall and finally received a notice stating the remedy was ready. I scheduled an appointment with Matthews Hyundai of Syracuse and took the vehicle for the recall. Unfortunately, after taking the vehicle back to
... the dealership, I was advised that the check engine light was on and the issue was a result of a faulty knock sensor and purge valve. I was asked to pay more than $100 for the repairs. However, after further discussion, it was concluded that I wouldn't be charged. However, after only two days, the engine check light came on again, and the speed reduced to 45 MPH on the highway. I was then told that the problem was from the ignition coil and was charged $232.72 for the repairs. Despite paying the full price, the same problem occurred again, and I had to take the vehicle back to the dealership seven times, paying a total of $1,160.67. Throughout this recall repair failure, the vehicle's check engine light would come on, or it would randomly lose power, making a knocking sound and reducing speed even while driving. I no longer feel safe in this vehicle, and it has resulted in thousands of lost wages as it is the only vehicle I use for my work and personal use. On December 1st, I wrote a complaint to the New York division of vehicle safety and was advised to take the vehicle to a different Hyundai authorized dealership for diagnostics. I took the vehicle to Burdick Hyundai of Cicero, and after a week, they stated they were able to find the problem. However, Hyundai denied the claim for repairs on the vehicle. Since then the vehicle inspection has expired, and I took the vehicle to a shop for inspection. They stated they could not pass the inspection as the vehicle speed would not exceed 45MPH.Read more

Went back this week, didn’t ask me anything when I pulled in, not even an hour later said my vehicle was done come get it. He handed me a quote of $1300 for brakes. I asked if I paid that would it fix the ABS he said no, but ur vehicle is not safe to drive. I explained I know, it wasn’t safe last week and you didn’t help me. I was able to get my vehicle to nearby brake-shop. I explained everything that happen, they also ran diagnostics and said it was ABS that they couldn’t fix it either until the dealership fixed the ABS. Now my vehicle is stuck at brake-shop and I just started a new job and have already had to miss two days work. I am completely dumbfounded as to why I am getting the run around and no one wants to help. Since this day, my car has lost speed multiple times while driving but the steering wheel has started locking up the last few times making it impossible to even steer and get off of the roadway while the car is dropping speed. This water intrusion results in a voltage difference between APP Sensor 1 and APP Sensor 2 that exceeds a predetermined value for more than a calibrated period of time, setting P2138. This technical bulletin provides repair information for repairing the ip to body harness connector to correct a customer concern for intermittent malfunction indicator lamp (mil) illuminated with reduced engine power displayed and dtc p2138 set. This is a known issue on the dodge forums but dodge refuses to call this defective and make it a recall. This is dangerous it could have killed me and others. There were no warning the throttle was going to go on its own.

Then it happened 2 more times! The last time, again, in the left lane, on cruise. The engine rpm clocked up at 7500 rpm before I was able to get the car off the road. Propulsion system failure", Followed by ,"Propulsion System Service Required" with yellow engine light on. Backed out of the driveway and the car started vibrating and shaking violently.
