For the past couple of years my 2008 Nissan Armada has been giving me issues with the gas gauge not reading accurately, it has progressed over time. ... down & the steering wheel eventually locks up, I do not have very long to find a driveway or parking lot to coast into before the vehicle completely shuts down. Over time it has happened at different intervals indicating I still have gas according to the gauge & the screen display, one time it showed as much as 147 miles to empty. My husband & I researched what may need to be checked or replaced to remedy the issue, everything led to changing the fuel pump which we did in August 2022. Within a few days it started happening again, at that time we had a mechanic look at my vehicle, they figured out that the fuel pump was missing a cap on the end of it, they replaced it. After about 4-6 months or so it started happening again, at that time we brought it back to the same mechanic to assess. After keeping it for 4 days, they decided that "the fuel pump must be bad & needs to be changed, sometimes fuel pumps just go bad". After paying over $700.00 to replace the fuel pump again (March 2023), it lasted about 2 weeks & happened again! There was a recall back in 2010 I believe for the fuel sending unit on my vehicle, Nissan replaced it at no charge, however, I was not having any issues at that time, when I called Nissan a year or so ago, they told me that a recall can only be done once where they fix the issue at no charge.Read more

I understand NHTSA has already opened an investigation into a similar issue with heavy duty 2017-2018 Ram trucks, but this problem is common among 2016 models AND 1500 (not just the 2500 or 3500). Only after that, the car became drive-able again. I wrote an email to [email protected] on 03/23/2017 describing the problem, since then, this became a chronic issue; Service centers in Virginia, Maryland, and San Juan PR have performed numerous attempts on this problem, none of them was able to fix it. According to my records, for this issue, the car has been in the shop for more than 10 times, and more than a dozen components have been replaced. The total time it has been out of service is more than 380 days. I now consider it "unfixable" by Tesla. This kind of problem have created many dangerous situations when it occurred on the road, especially when the driver doesn't know how to handle it, doesn't pull over on the shoulder quickly, or there's no safe place to pull over.Read more

It seems that the air conditioner was called to turn on by the body control module which cause the engine RPM to decrease which cause the power train control module to react increasing the demand to the throttle body which either stuck high or was over commanded in not reacting in a fast enough manner to satisfy the power train control module. This car does not have an accurate speedometer. The analog dial only marks the MPH number every 20 miles (eg numbers shown for 20 / 40 / 60. But not for 10 / 30 / 50). So impossible to easily or safely see the speed you are going. There is no digital speedometer showing the MPH number.

Suddenly, on Thursday March 16, 2023,while driving home the car stops accelerating. I had to keep turning the car off and on to get it going. On Friday, March 17, 2023 I arrived at the Autoworx location at 10:30am (the appointment time). When I arrived no one was there. We sat and waited for nearly an hr and a half. Once they arrived they looked at the car, drove it away and came back. After sitting there for 2/3 hours, the Owner [XXX] called me outside to inform me that the Catalytic Converter was bad (which they knew on Monday when I came in) and by me driving the car longer, the Transmission has went out. At this point I am FURIOUS! Because at NO point did they tell me that the car needed a Catalytic Converter. So we sat there a little longer with no way to go home. [XXX] then comes and mentions "I'll get you all an UBER". He ordered the Uber (just to get us away). I have looked into the Carfax on the 2009 Nissan Altima and found that the Odometer had been rolled back SEVERAL times. I bought the car at 121,000 miles. I was luckily able to make a hard right turn to cross a lane of traffic in order to reach the safety of the emergency lane just before the car came to a complete stop. While doing so, I nearly clipped the front of another vehicle. The vehicle was towed to the dealership where it was serviced and a new accelerator pedal was installed. However, the service department had notified me that they had never had an incident like this before and even had difficulty knowing exactly how to fix it. The service to replace the accelerator pedal took nearly two weeks, leaving me without a reliable vehicle for my daily work commute. Upon picking up my vehicle, the service department also could not confirm that the vehicle was test driven with the newly installed accelerator pedal which heightened my safety concerns even more. When I asked to speak with someone in regards to my safety concerns going forward, no manager was available despite phone calls, messages, and an in person request. We took the car to a Ford dealership in Sterling Colorado in October of 2021 and was told that there was a recall on the electronic control module, transmission control module and that due to Covid it would take up to 8 months for the part to come in. When we contacted the dealership at the end of the 8 month wait they stated that they couldn’t re
... pair the car to take it to a different dealership in Wray Colorado . We were again told that it could take several months to get the part in, we waited for several months for the part and it still didn’t come in. We contacted Ford about the issue and they told us to take the car back to the first dealership and have them put it on the computer just to confirm that it was the electronic control module, transmission control module and it would be taken care of. We did that and now Ford is telling us that they won’t fix the car because they can’t get the part, they want us to pay for a new transmission at the tune of $8000.00 and said that since the car was over 80,000 miles and out of the original warranty they won’t cover the repair for a new transmission. The dealership said the only way to fix the car is to have a new transmission control module or a new transmission. The recall on the transmission module covers the car up to 150,000 miles and our car has under 127,000 miles on it. We have tried since 2021 to get this taken care of.Read more

This could be a software issue which probably is conflicting between the breaks travel assist is applying and the breaking that the driver is applying. Where they duplicated same issue. They could not get the computer to flag any codes that something was wrong but witnessed it not being able to be steered properly. They proceeded to do a hard reset on the steering module as they could not communicate with it, they then downloaded new software and said it fixed the problem. We drove 3.5 hours round trip to go pick it up. It drove just like is should for trips but then at 1145 miles the exact same issue with dialogue box saying lane keep malfunction and power steering or it fighting my wife to stay straight and fighting her to navigate road turns, obstacles or other vehicles. This again put my family and other families on the road at extreme risk. It was then towed again. This time it went to Jaguar Land Rover Harrisburg. They too witnessed the same issue and I told them of what happened before and what they did to fix. It has been in the dealership service centers care for a week and they can’t figure out why it’s doing it. They contacted Land Rover corporate for help and have open ticket with Engineer. The service managers words to me where that they can’t do anything until LandRover engineer figures out why this is happening to Defenders. I said there is more, he said yes. I called corporate to request they take the vehicle back as it is unsafe for my family and other families in the road. They said it has to happen 3 times! Not Safe At All.Read more

... I got back to a hard surface area that had a car wash available and continued on my journey. Approximately 30 more miles later on the same trip both warning lights came on again. I immediately pulled over to read the message warning that was up on the dash to see if I could continue with my journey or not. After reading the message on the display in the truck, I decided it would be safer not to continue with my journey with that truck due to the safety issues and possibility of injury or death to me and my passengers, or another vehicle that I may encounter either head on or from behind. I had a friend of mine bring his fifth wheel truck to pick up my camper and return it back to my home. I had to cancel my camping trip for that week, which cost me approximately $400 out of pocket and then I had to pay my friend gas money to bring my vehicle home for me. I placed a call to the dealership nearest me and they advised me it would be $1,000 to begin any sort of diagnostic procedure on the I have now been driving the vehicle only unladened with any sort of extra payload, the light will come on and go off and come on and go off multiple times some days no times other days. I am retired, and a long-term covid patient, I do not have the financial resources to take a vehicle to a dealership to have them charge me absorbent amount of money when this clearly should be a safety recall on this vehicle. The problem is with the whole DEF System in the truck. for the last 6 months I can't go a week or less without getting some kind of code. Every time it effects the electronic throttle control and the truck goes into limp mode, I can be going 70 mph and it drops down to 30-40 mph no matter where I am at. ... up and we do it all over again. I think I may have gone 2 weeks without a problem in the last 6 months. This time it is the DPF and DEF system, and here we go back into limp mode. I have had it to the dealer last week for issues which they couldn't figure out but thought that reprogramming would fix. So I leave to go out of state to work and here we go again less than 100 miles from home. Exhaust filter is full with no regen for over 400 miles. Now I'm stuck out of state with this problem. Abs braking system has been flashing and traction control light flashing. My left front wheel started grinding and smoking out of the blue when driving today. No problems with brakes before that. This needs to be investigated cause had I lost power steering suddenly when making that turn someone could have been seriously injured if not killed.
