The Collision Mitigation Braking System is overly sensitive, aggressive, unpredictable and sometimes erratic causing extremely dangerous situations including almost causing traffic accidents due to unwarranted locking up of brakes sometimes on the freeway at very dangerous highway speeds. One of the occasions was on a 35mph roadway that had a small dip hardly anything, with no cars, pedestrians in front of me SLAMMED the brakes aggressively for 0 reason and with nothing in front of the car but a slight dip in the road. Another occasion was on a freeway at freeway speeds where the car dangerously slammed on the brakes causing unexpected and abrupt loss of speed which WOULD HAVE resulted in a car behind me rear-ending my vehicle, in this case luckily no vehicle was directly behind me in this instance, but in the future this can cause an accident and put myself and others at risk. This vehicle is brand new, less than 3,000 miles. I've contacted Honda Corporate who directed me to a Honda Dealer which they seemed to advise I will be out of pocket for a diagnosis fee for, on a car that randomly and unexpectedly SLAMS ON BRAKES. This is unacceptable, the system automatically turns back on as soon as the vehicle starts up, there's no way to permanently deactivate this dangerous feature. I took the vehicle in for a recall for unrelated issues to this problem at 90,000 miles (July 6 2022). The technician noted that the vehicle was leaking oil and it needed an oil pan reseal. I brought the vehicle back for this service on March 6 2023. Between the initial recall service and this service, I noticed that the vehicle was consuming a significant amount of oil, beyond regular consumption
... . On several occasions, after about 1000 miles after the oil was changed, I was adding 2-3 quarts of oil to the vehicle. Moreover, when the oil was changed, the technician who changed the oil, noted that the oil was very dirty despite only going 3000-4000 miles between oil changes. I mentioned this to the Lehigh Valley Hyundai Service Desk and that it was highly unlikely that an oil pan reseal would resolve this. They ordered an oil consumption test and instructed me to drive the vehicle for 1000 miles. I did this and brought the vehicle back in to Lehigh Valley Hyundai on April 1, 2023. They checked the oil, the technician ordered an oil combustion cleaning, and instructed me to drive the vehicle an additional 1000 miles before bringing it back in for the oil combustion test. During this period, I noticed that the vehicle lost a significant amount of power. During a drive back from Widener University, I barely had enough power to drive up hills on the Northeast Extension and almost got into two wrecks due to the lack of power. I took the vehicle back to Hyundai on April 8, 2023 and notified them of this issue. They checked the vehicle out and notified me that the catalytic converter was clogged and needed to be replaced. They gave me a quote of $4000 to complete this service. This service was extraordinarily high priced compared to other mechanic services which cost between $2000-2500. I checked with other services and they indicated that they did not have access to the part and only Hyundai had access to the catalytic converter.Read more

No the vehicle had no warnings, but did have symptons, which I took to dealer and they ran a diagnostic, and found nothing, they said there are TSBs out there with the downshifting issues, and stalling, jerking of transmission. But they said just wait it out initially, and I had to call Ford Corporate relations and raise the roof, after I nearly got killed by semi trucks from being stuck in a major interstate highway. December 2022 when it began, the dealer kept doing a reset, which seemed to make it worse, then when I told them how unsafe it was they ignored me, until April 26th when I left a voice mail after nearly being killed. I demanded service as I have a warranty and they ignored the symptoms for so long. Tesla has been very difficult to convince that this is a problem. They say that remote diagnosis is inconclusive. Since they go for "at home" service first, 3 separate service times were cancelled by them, and they will not allow a service appointment at their shop for further diagnosis. Warnings came up on the instrument display, but only for 10 or 15 seconds, in words too small to read. Since I am trying to maintain control of the vehicle, I cannot stare at the screen to try and memorize, or find my phone to try and take a picture. This vehicle does not allow the owner to look at the error/trouble logs, so exact times and dates are elusive. Tesla refuses to start investigating until the exact warning, date, and times are advised. Dates are known, approximate times and driving conditions are known but aren't good enough.Read more

Yesterday, April 26th, 2023 the above vehicle was involved in a serious accident, possibly related to the safety recall for the high voltage cell module. My wife was driving the vehicle on her way to work, as she did for the past 2 years. Sometimes she gets coffee for herself and a coworker, so that day she turned into a parking lot of the last MacDonalds before her job. She pulled up to the drive
... thru lane as she did many times before. She was not distracted by the phone, and her radio was turned off. There was nobody else in her vehicle, and her thought was on the coffee order. As she was pulling up to the 2 vehicles in front of her, something horrible happened in the next 3 or 4 seconds. Her vehicle accelerated suddenly, hit the car in front of her, bounced off to the right, and kept accelerating for the next 50 feet before hitting a semi truck with such a force that the front end of her vehicle is completely obliterated and the semi truck frame was broken. Thankfully, nobody got hurt seriously, and there was no fire. The first question from the Police officer was whether she hit the accelerator pedal by mistake. She responded that she did not hit the accelerator pedal, and does not understand what happened. She was shocked by the sudden fury of her vehicle, and stated that she was unable to stop it. I believe what she is saying, because there was no reason for her to stomp hard on either pedal as she was coasting slowly, and with the vehicle's regenerative braking you only have to tap the brakes gently. If she tapped the wrong pedal by mistake, the acceleration would not be so violent. To do what the vehicle did in such a short distance, the driver would have to stomp forcefully on the pedal and keep it floored all the time. There was no need to do that, and she never even attempted to do such violent acceleration anywhere. On March 19, 2023, I put my Tesla in drive and it went into reverse . When I tried to brake the speed accelerated. We were unable to stop the vehicle, while driving in reverse the car hit two mailboxes and two ceramic flower pots. It has been over 6 weeks and Tesla will not return my calls or messages. On 5 different occasions between January-March 2023 the accelerator pedal continued to accelerate after the pedal pressure was released. Even with braking, the accelerator pedal did not decelerate. Car started displaying all Mill lights in the message center, including “lane assist disabled,” “stability control arm needs servicing,” “traction control unavailable,” and others. After about 3-5 seconds of rapid fire messages being displayed, the car made a “shutting down noise” and then died on the side of the road. Had it towed to a dealership.

Dealer garage will not fix it says it normal and will not even write up or make an appointment to have it checked.
